We met each other in elementary school. It was the 5th grade after his family moved here from Alabama. I thought he was cute, but all the little girls did. I remember my friend telling me that she liked him and I should be friends with him so she can be friends with him, so I became friends with him. We have been friends ever since then.
In the 8th grade I became deathly sick with something they never have figured out what it was. I had a fever of 107 degrees and the only way they could temporarily lower it would be to give me cold fluids through an IV. That wasn't the worst part. They tested me for Meningitis, which I didn't have, and the only way they could test you for it is though a spinal tap. That's where they draw spinal fluid from your lower to mid back. It was the worst pain I have ever felt. It still hurts and it's been many years since then. Robin was always checking in on me. He texted me constantly to make sure I was okay. I was gone from school for a week, and the week that I got better was spring break so I got some extra recovery time. The day after I got out of the hospital I went to Robin's house because he really missed me.
Robin was there for me when my parents got divorced my freshman year of high school. He was there for me when my boyfriend, of almost a year and a half, and I broke up. He has never left me and not came back.
I've been there for him, but in different ways. We are very similar people, but we handle some things differently. Robin isn't good with handling his emotions. He keeps them bottled up inside and doesn't tell anybody. I understand him though, and he understands me. We are so different but so alike. We know each other so well, but we are always discovering something new about each other. We have been friends for so many years, but we never run out of things to talk about.
