Demi entered Joe's hospital seeing him sat up on the bed staring at the bowl he had on the tray that attaches to the sides of the bed not looking as if he was enjoying what he had for breakfast. She couldn't help but giggle getting his attention, he cracked her a small smile as he noticed the car seat in her hands. He knew his son was in there and was looking forward to meeting him for the first time. Demi wondered over kissing his cheek gently.
"Not enjoying it?" She guessed Joe shaking his head.
"I think I'd rather have what our son had for breakfast." He joked Demi laughing again.
"What milk from my breast?" She teased making Joe smile. "How are you feeling other than having a crappy hospital breakfast?"
"A little better, I still ache everywhere." Joe admits. "How is Mason?"
"Do you like the name Mason? We cans still change it because you haven't signed the birth certificate." Demi mentioned.
"I like the name, thanks for naming him after Ben and Harry." Demi smiled as she took the seat setting Mason's car seat on the floor but where she can see him.
"It's okay, I know they mean a lot to you so I thought it would be nice." Demi begun. "He's okay, so far he's been a good baby. He woke me up four times last night but he went right back to sleep afterwards." Joe smiled looking up at her.
"I missed you." Demi smiled this time looking down at him.
"I missed you too, sorry for leaving but I couldn't lose our child. I should have thought harder though for you to go on this journey with me then you wouldn't have nearly died." Joe took her hand after dropping the spoon in his oatmeal tangling their fingers together.
"Forget about that alright, we're together now with Mason and that's all that counts right?"
"You still love me after all this?" Demi questioned surprised as Joe nodded his head gently. "I'd kiss you but I don't wanna taste that nasty breakfast, eat up then you can hold Mason." Joe laughed taking his hand back picking the spoon up again.
"I'll never stop loving you Demi, no matter what you do." Joe announced before putting the spoon in his mouth.
Joe smiled as Demi laid Mason down in his arms before she sat back down herself. Mason was sleeping but his parents were careful with him making sure that he remained asleep. Demi smiled also seeing the father of her son with him for the first time. She was just beyond happy that they could even have this moment. She was sure she had lost Joe.
"He looks like you." Joe stated not moving his eyes away from the day old baby boy.
"He has your long fingers and your eyes that all you Jonas' have." Joe laughed slightly.
"Yeah all three of us got our eyes from our mom," Joe answered moving his eyes from Mason up to Demi. "I wasn't in LA the whole time."
"You weren't? Where were you?" Demi questioned.
"I went back home for a week but I couldn't do it so ran away again. Mom took me to the doctors and they diagnosed me with depression but I've started taking medication again since I got here." Joe explained Demi sighing slightly.
"Because of me." Demi mumbled but Joe shook his head.
"The doctors predicted it would have come along anyway with living on the streets for such a long time, it's something most homeless people get." Joe assured her.
"When you're out of here your coming back with me, we can share my single bed until we find a suitable place for the three of us." Joe laid his eyes back down on his son leaning down kissing his head gently leaving his lips there long than necessary but did pull away. All he wanted was to be in his son's life and now he could have that with Demi by his side. He couldn't help but let a tear slip from his eyes knowing that everything was going to be okay for him and his family.
