"Alright," I sigh as I enter the house, "what's happening?" Damon comes out of literally nowhere, almost scaring the crap out of me. He quickly placed his hand over my mouth before placing a finger on his lips.

    Shhh.

I roll my eyes as he removes his hand but nod my head anyway. 'Lead the way' I mouth. He smirks before leading me upstairs.

We enter a room in vaguely familiar with, greeted by a sleeping Stefan and Elena. I raise an eyebrow. So that explains why she wasn't home last night.

Damon sits at the edge of the bed, smirking at me before yelling, "Rise and shine sleepy heads!" They bolt up and cover themselves with the blanket. I cover my mouth, about to die of laughter.

    "Damon!" Elena exclaims, "Please!"

"Oh please stop being so smutty." Damon dismisses with a wave.

"Seriously," Stefan snaps, "get out of here!"

"Gabby?!" Elena suddenly calls out, causing me to raise an eyebrow. "What are you doing here?" Her cheeks flush a dark a red.

"Trust me," I begin, "If I knew I would see this, I wouldn't be in here." They both start to sit up, forcing me to cover my eyes to hide from their vulgarities.

"If I see something I haven't seen before, I'll throw a dollar at it," Damon sighs. I imagine him rolling his eyes. "Now, we have some very important business to discuss. "

"It has to be right now?" Elena demands.

"Oh, we have lots to do: now that we're all friends working towards a common goal." He smirks. I hear him rise from the bed. "So, in order to open the tomb. We need to find the journal to get the Grimoire and undo the spell. First things first since you are Elena Gilbert. You are on journal duty."

"Since when am I helping?" Elena sighs.

"Well Stefan's helping and since you've taken up residence in his bed...ergo." Damon replies. I try not to laugh.

"You don't have to do anything you don't want to do," Stefan reassures Elena.

"I'll look for it today." She gives in with a sigh. I hear them both lie back down, making me uncover my eyes.

"How do we know the location of the Grimoire is in this journal?" Stefan argues, "We listened to a random vampire. We could just be dimwits."

"We don't have any other options," Damon argues back.

"What is a Grimoire anyway?" I ask.

"It's a witch's cook book," Damon replies. Stefan looks at me to tell me, but I look away. Just seeing them naked or half naked, which I don't intend on finding out, makes me want to  puke.

"It's every spell a witch can cast," Stefan answers, ignoring me turning around.

"Yeah. A cook book." Damon states in a 'duh' tone.

"What about our mystery vampire?" I question, "He obviously wasn't alone. Whoever's out there knows who we are."

"And I don't like that disadvantage. So" he claps his hands twice. "Chop Chop," he commands. "Let's go, Wildfire." He commands. I shrug.

"You know," he begins as he slowly steps away, "I really like this foursome thing we got. It's got a kink to it. Don't screw it up." We walk back downstairs, allowing me to seek comfort on their amazing couch.

"So what do we do?" I ask.

"Nothing until your sister can gets that journal."

"What if she doesn't?" I question.

"That isn't an option," he says with determination. I put my hands up in surrender.

"Got it," I sigh, lowering my arms.

"By the way," he begins, causing me to raise an eyebrow at him, "I'm coming over for dinner tonight."

    I scoff. "Since when?"

"Since your Aunt Jenna invited me," he replies smugly. I roll my eyes at him before laying my head down on the couch.

---------

"My father never approved of anyone I dated." Damon smirks. "Which only made me want them more, of course. What about you?" Damon asks Aunt Jenna as he cuts vegetables. Aunt Jenna is sitting on the counter, drinking wine, while I sit on the couch.

"There were a few guys," she dismisses, "Logan isn't the only loser I've dated." Jenna scoffs before sipping her wine.

"Have they ever found him?" I question from the couch, "Is he still missing?" No, he's dead.

"He's not missing," Jenna laughs. "He's in the Bahamas working on his tan. Very entitled that he marches to the beat of his own drum." Jenna scowls before finishing her wine.

"He's a Fell. In other words. A total douche." I reply as Damon refills her wine glass. He goes back to cutting the vegetables.

"Without looking up Damon comments, "Hello, Elena." Jenna and I turn around to see Elena walking in the kitchen.

"Hey!" Jenna greets a little too giddy, "Where have you been? We're cooking dinner." Um I think Damon is actually cooking.

"Is Stefan with you?" Damon asks.

"Um he'll be here soon." Elena replies, looking at me with a little worry.

--------

I've gotta admit, Damon can cook. Like, really well. I'm surprised he doesn't do it more often considering how hungry I always am.

But as the girl who did nothing to contribute to the dinner, I got stuck with dish duty.

I take a plate out of the sink, about to put it into the dishwasher when Damon purposely bumps in to me. I smile as I look up at him. "Don't do that." He steps out of my way before standing on the other side of me, passing me the plates.

"Do what?" He asks playing dumb.

I roll my eyes. "You know what. That move was deliberate."

"Yeah," He scoffs amusedly, "I was deliberately trying to get to the...sink" He smirks. "Speaking of Stefan. Where is he? He's missing family night. Which I am enjoying immensely," He comments at the sound of no one mentioning his brother.

"Damon, why are you asking me this?" I sigh. "I haven't seen him since this morning." I reply with a shiver, remembering this morning.

"Is it real?" He asks.

"Is what real?"

"Our renewed sense of brotherhood?"

I sigh. "I don't know, Damon. You might want to ask Elena."

"Ask me what?" Elena questions as she steps into the kitchen. She looks at us expectantly with a raised brow.

"Can I trust Stefan?" Damon asks.

She hesitates. "Yes, you can trust him." She walks over to the table. Damon speeds over to her, making her jump a little, and looks into her eyes.

"Can I trust him?" He repeats.

Elena scoffs. "I'm wearing vervain, Damon. It's not going to work." She steps around, avoiding both him and the question

"I'm not compelling you," he denies, "I just want you to answer me. Honestly."

"Of course you can trust Stefan," She sighs. I look at her suspiciously.

He turns around to face us. "There was a time that I trusted him more than anyone."

"Trust breed trust. You have to give it to earn it," Elena lectures.

"Are you lecturing me?" Damon scoffs.

"Do you need to be lectured?" She retorts with hands on hips.

"I just want her back," Damon admits, "I'm sure you two can understand that."

"I can understand that you will do whatever it takes to get her back." Elena glares at Damon.

"Then you both understand what I'll do if anyone gets in my way." I see Elena freeze up a bit but relaxes when he walks away.

"You're not lying to him, right?" I gain her attention. I stop my dish loading. "He really needs this, Lena."

And for some reason, I thought she wouldn't lie to me, her own twin. I thought she'd do the right thing and tell me the truth so we can just get this over with.

"I'm not lying, Gabby."

---------

"You said you've never played this before," Jeremy complains to Damon. Damon smirks as he kicks Jeremy's ass in whatever they're playing.

"I'm a fast learner." Damon shrugs. "Quick reflexes." That's an understatement.

Jeremy's phone rings so they stop playing. He looks to check who it is, lets out a groan of annoyance, then ignores the call and un-pauses the game.

"Who are you dodging?" I ask with a smirk as I walk towards the couch.

"Some girl named Anna. She can be uh...persistent." Jeremy replies both eyes still glued to the screen.

"Is she hot?" Damon asks.

"Yeah." Jeremy smiles, "Yeah, but she can be, uh , weird," He replies.

"Hot trumps weird. Trust me," He teaches. I roll my eyes.

I walk over to Jenna and Elena in the kitchen who are both whispering their conversation. Really, there's no point in whispering considering Damon can hear everything.

"He is ridiculously hot," Jenna whispers, staring at him. I can literally feel Damon's smirk from the living room. Elena shushes her.

"Yeah, but he's also a major ass," I whisper knowing Damon can hear me.

Jenna looks back at Elena with a frown. "What are you doing with all that stuff?" She points to the box of old things.

"Looking through here." She sighs, "Only to see if there's anything about our birth parents."

"Have you guys told Jeremy?" Jenna asks.

"We will," I reassure, "When the time's right." The door bell rings.

"That's Stefan." Elena smiles. She walks over to the door to answer it and I follow. Damon excitedly follows us as well. Jeremy gets a little upset but continues to play his video game nonetheless. We open the door and sure enough it's Stefan.

"Well?" Damon demands impatiently. Stefan nods for us to come outside.

"Someone took it," Stefan sighs, looking at Damon for his reaction. "I went to Saltzman's office and it wasn't there."

"Who took it?" Damon demands while pacing the porch.

"I don't know," Stefan replies with crossed arms.

"I bet it was that teacher," he accuses, "there's something really off about him."

"It wasn't him. Somebody got to it right before me," Stefan reassures.

"Who else knew it was there?" I ask. Stefan looks through the window and looks at Jeremy. I see a mischievous look in Damon's eyes.

"Damon don't you dare," I snap as he enters the house.

"What's the big deal?" Damon shrugs. We follow him inside. He sits on the arm of the couch that's closest to Jeremy. "Heard you found a cool journal from back in the day. Who else did you show it to?" He asks, barely containing his anger.

"Huh?" Jeremy asks not taking his eyes off the screen with his video game on it.

"Don't ask questions just spill," Damon demands. Jeremy looks away from the screen and looks at Damon.

"You're serious, right?" Jeremy asks, letting out an amused scoff. Before Damon could say, or do, anything I speak.

"Jer, who else did you tell about the Jonathan Gilbert's journal besides Mr. Saltzman?" I ask calmly so he won't suspect anything.

"Why is everybody so obsessed about that thing?" Jeremy complains.

"Who else knows about the journal, Jer?" I ask a little more demanding though.

"Just that girl, Anna." Jeremy shrugs, looking back at the screen.

"The hot weird one?" Damon clarifies.

"Yeah," my brother responds absentmindedly.

"Wait," Stefan interrupts, gaining our attentions, "Whose Anna?" Stefan asks.

"That's what I want to found out." Damon growls. The phone rings and Elena goes to answer it. "How do you know her?" Damon asks.

"I just know her," he shrugs, "She wants me to meet her at the Grill tonight."

"Perfect. Let's go I'll drive." Damon says pulling out his keys.

"I'm coming too!" I announce, following them to the car.

-------

"She's from 1864?" I question once we enter the motel room. After seeing who this 'Anna' was, Damon immediately brought us to her place of residence which he somehow found.

"The daughter of a friend of Katherine's," he clarifies closing the door behind him. "Get on the bed."

    I raise an eyebrow. "Cute."

"As much as I would love to continue on this path of the conversation, I've gotta bring it back. Get in the bed so you won't get hurt when she comes back."

I do as he says, not liking it but secretly knowing he's right. "She's not gonna hurt, Jeremy, is she?"

"I think she just wants the journal."

Finally, the door opens. Anna walks inside, her eyes landing on me. Immediately, Damon grabs herby the throat and pushes her against the wall. She grabs his throat and they choke each other. I raise an eyebrow, not exactly sure what's happening.

"Okay..." Damon rasps our, "I give." hey both let go of each other's throats and take deep breaths. " Damn, you're a strong little thing."

"I was wondering how long it would take for you to find me." Anna glares at him, ignoring his compliment.

"How long have you been here?" Damon asks, crossing his arms.

Anna shrugs. "I came by after the comet," she stares at Damon, a smirk forming, "watching you screw up every chance you had at opening that tomb."

"How did you know about the spell?"

"I didn't say much back then. Which means I heard everything," She replies with another smirk. I frown, looking over at Damon for some clarification. I receive none.

"If you've been here the whole time, why are we just now crossing paths?" He takes a step, almost blocking my view. His body turns in an almost protective manner.

"I like others to do my dirty work." She shrugs.

"Like Logan Fell?" Damon scoffs, "Oh, thanks for that by the way. Little bastard shot me." Damon glares.

"Logan was an idiot," she admits, "We slipped him some blood when he started getting 'poser slayer' with that compass. I needed his family journal, so I couldn't let him die."

"What did you want with the Fell journal?" Damon asks.

"I thought it contained the location of the witch's spell book. I was wrong. She gave it to Jonathan Gilbert." Anna replies. She walks over to her her bag and pulls out something. The journal. "And thanks to this, you're going to help me find it."

"Why would we help you?" Damon questions, correcting her.

"Because you and I both want that tomb opened." Anna frowns, realizing his words before looking past time. "Why is she helping you?"

"Is that your business?" I retort, speaking up for the first time since she got here.

"She's also one of the only people I can trust these days," Damon adds, giving me a warning look. Anna shrugs her shoulders and hands the journal to Damon. He flips through it, stopping on a certain page before closing it shut. "Sorry, I work alone," Damon declines. He starts walking out and I follow him.

Damon starts speeding out of the parking lot before I could even buckle up. "Damon," I start slowly before looking over at him, "what's wrong?"

    "I know where it is."

"Really?" He nods his head. "Where?"

    "My father's grave."

------

My suspicions from last night's dinner were correct. Elena lied to both Damon and I. By the time we got there, Stefan was already climbing from a grave, an old battered book in his hand.

"Well what do you know," Damon snaps, gaining their attention. "This is an interesting turn of events." Elena gulps as Damon glares at the two of them.

I was stupid enough to believe Elena wouldn't lie to her own twin.

"I can't let you bring her back," Stefan argues, standing in front of Elena protectively. "I'm sorry."

"So am I," Damon seethes, "For thinking even a second I can trust you."

"You're not capable of trust!" Stefan accuses, "The fact that you two are here means that you've read the journal and planned on doing it yourself!"

"Of course we were going to do it by ourselves!" Damon yells, throwing his arms up in anger. The only person I trust other than myself is Gabby!" I'm flattered. "But you," he snaps, pointing at Elena. He gives a dark chuckle, "you had me fooled."

"So what are you going to do now? If you destroy it I will rip her heart out," Damon threatens.

"You won't kill her. Gabby will hate you for it," Stefan calls his bluff. The next thing I know, Damon is right behind Elena with his arm around her neck but not choking her.

"I can do better." Damon growls out before bring to his wrist and force-feeding his blood to Elena.

"Damon, No!" I yell, taking a step forward. He may be my friend, but Elena's my sister.

The next thing I know, Stefan is behind me. He bites into his wrist. "Stefan you assho—" I try to insult but am easily cut off by him pressing his wrist against my lips. I try to spit the blood out, but it isn't much use.

"I'm sorry," He whispers in my ear. Lying piece of shit. "Give Elena back."

"Not until you give me the book and Gabby," Damon negotiates. "I want them first, or I'll snap Elena's neck and you will have a vampire girlfriend."

"I'm not giving you anything until Elena is standing right next to me."

"I don't trust that you'll give them back!"

Stefan looks at the frightened Elena one last time. "You just did the one thing that ensures that I will," Stefan states softly.

He removes his arm away from me before dropping the book beside my feet. Damon stays true to his word, letting Elena go without a word. I bend down and grab the book before quickly making my way to Damon. My twin and I make eye contact, silently forgiving each other as we pass each other.

Strong arms wrap around me tightly the moment I'm in front of him. Damon lets out a sigh of relief before letting me go. I turn around, Stefan and Elena already gone.

"You got it." I smile before handing him the Grimoire.

"We got it." He corrects with a big grin. I'm happy he's happy.

-------

Note to self: vampire blood gives super bad headaches. I look around for Aspirin but there's none. After the whole book thing, Damon gave me a ride home.

I look at myself in the mirror, allowing me to admire myself for a few moments before getting a good night's sleep. Damn I'm hot.

I was so absorbed with myself, I didn't notice the figure in the background until it was too late. I gasp loudly as a hand pressed against the back of my head before slamming it against my dresser.

I quickly lift my head, vision coated in black dots. Suddenly I'm falling onto the ground, struggling to see my assailant through the blurry messy vision. My eyes flutter shut and I'm out.
