Ashley knew it was going to be a long year. She thought she could just make New friends but the everyone at the school proved how wrong she was. She had a horribly long, frustrating year. She learned to shut people out, put on a fake smile and act like nothing was wrong. She especially had to put on a fake smile for her family. She could never tell them what happened or She would have to go to the counselors office. Savannah would make Ashleys life even worse.
That was the summer that Ashley' family got their stone paths put in. They were made up of small rocks that hurt to step on. Her family had to wear shoes over the paths, Ashley on the other hand, didn't. She had gotten so used to hideing her emotions, she could walk down every single path and not show anything. Of course it still hurt a lot but she had long ago learned to be fake about most emotions.
