You weren't supposed to be here tonight.
Oikawa told you practice ran late at Aoba Johsai. You believed him - why wouldn't you?
Then your friend sent you a picture.
A girl. At his apartment. His hoodie on her.
Your heart hit the floor so hard you couldn't breathe.
You don't even remember the walk there. Just the way your knuckles hit the door before your brain caught up.
Inside, you hear voices.
A girl. And Oikawa.
Arguing.
"You said you weren't going to tell her!" the girl snaps.
"I wasn't- I'm trying to fix it- just get out!"
Your blood runs cold.
He cheated.
On you.
On the relationship you put your whole heart into.
The door swings open when you try the handle.
The girl freezes. Oikawa freezes. The room freezes.
He looks like he's been crying - eyes red, voice wrecked. He swallows hard.
"Y/N..." Your name sounds like a plea.
Your hands shake violently.
"I didn't want you to-" he tries.
You hold up a trembling hand. "Don't. Please don't."
The girl rolls her eyes like you're the problem. "Relax, it wasn't a big deal."
You flinch like she slapped you.
Oikawa snaps. "Get out."
"Oikawa-"
"I SAID GET OUT!"
She storms past you, brushing your shoulder like you're something she's stepping over.
Then it's just you and him.
He takes a step toward you.
You take one back.
His face crumples.
"Y/N... I swear I wasn't- it just got messy, I wasn't thinking- I didn't- I never meant-"
He's choking on his words. You're choking on your heartbeat.
"How long?" you whisper.
The question makes him physically flinch.
"Tw- two weeks," he forces out.
It's like a knife goes through your ribs.
You press your hand to your mouth as a sob rips out of you.
Oikawa breaks.
He steps forward, voice cracking:
"I'm so sorry- I'm so stupid- I didn't want to lose you, I swear, I swear-"
You shake your head, tears dripping off your chin.
"I loved you," you whisper. "I trusted you."
"I know," he chokes. "That's why I'm begging- please, don't leave yet- let me explain- let me fix it-"
But you can't even look at him.
Your legs feel numb as you turn toward the door.
He grabs your wrist - gentle, terrified.
"Y/N... please."
You pull your hand away like he burned you.
"I can't do this," you whisper. Not with him crying. Not with your heart splitting open.
"Wait- please- just tell me what to do- I'll do anything-"
You turn, tears blurring him into colors.
"You should've thought about that before you touched her."
He collapses against the wall as you walk out.
