She stood right at the edge, staring out across the broken ground so far below. She was sick of this life. Call it giving up but at this point she could not care less.
There was nothing in this world that she looked forward to. No one who she cared for was left. They had all been stripped awsy from her because of the cruelty of the war. Now she stood alone.
The shadows down below called out to her and the thought of being reunited with family was what caused her to take the step into nothing. And she fell and fell into nothing.
