Sasaki POV
The giant moved through the temple, walking over it with its giant long legs. It's pincers snapped and caught people, eating them and killing left and right.
"Maman! What do we do?!" Saiko said to me, her expression was full of terror.
I clench my head, so many thoughts and memories trying to take over. My kakugan activated, the lingering taste of sweet tasting blood on my tongue.
Touka grabbed me by the shoulders and shook me. "Hey! We need to get out of here!" She yelled.
I snapped out of it, but instead of running, I charged at it, taking out my quinque sword. The others hesitated as I jumped onto its back, stabbing my sword through it.
It screeched, making such a loud noise that my ears started to pop and bleed. I grit my teeth, and yell in anger as I slide the blade across the monsters back.
There's an opening!
"Now, Mutsuki!" I ordered.
The tendrils were flying everywhere, it legs stabbing people like a meat on a stick, and throwing them into its mouth. Mutsuki hesitated seeing this, and was swapped aside, flying through the temple.
Touka swore under her breath, and put on her mask, shaped as a rabbit. She propelled off a ledge, shoot kagune crystals at the monster.
This seemed to make it even more angry. Behind us, Shirazu was calling for back up. On my ear piece, I hear a static response from command.
"Other units will be there in a minute, keep it busy!" Said the voice on my ear piece.
Easy for you to say! I thought as one of its tendrils stabbed into my knee, and lifted me into the air. I was about to scream, but another tendrils stabbed me in the shoulder, throwing me away like trash and hitting a lamppost.
Saiko rushed to my side and started to apply pressure to my wounds. I put my hand out, telling her to retreat.
"But your injuries-!" She started.
"Thats a command from your superior." I said with a dark voice.
Saiko flinched at my tone and nodded quickly, running in the opposite direction of the monster. Touka landed next to me, a bit bruised.
"You sure your alright?" She asked, quickly.
I nodded, making my Kagune come out, aiming them at the monster. Shirazu and Urie stood next to us. Mutsuki was out of the question here, probably knocked out from that blow.
Us four against a giant centipede Kakuja monster? Sounded great.
I told Shirazu to come with as Touka went with Urie. I went to its side, and slashed one of its legs off, which regenerated almost immediately. It looked over at me, and shot a tone of them at me.
I jumped out of the way, and watched everyone fighting it. Damn, how long are we going to have to hold it like this?
Suddenly, Urie was slashed across the chest, and pushed into a bunch of bushes, knocked out. Touka was grabbed by the wing and slammed across the ground, and stayed still.
Shirazu jumped back, but a leg impaled his knee, and tangled him up. I grit my teeth and aim for the head, that has to be where the actual body is!
I block it's attack with all four of my limbs, and scream as more pressure is put into it.
I won't let, him die-!
Suddenly, the limbs of the creature smashed through my kagune like glass, spraying blood everywhere. I stood in shock for a moment, then was impaled with three of them, all in my chest, and lifted into the air.
I tried to move, but I couldn't. I struggle as Shirazu was thrown aside and it focused on me.
I closed my eyes.
This was it! It was over, I was going to die! I grit my teeth and wait for the pain, but instead I hear a jab sound. I look down at its feet and see Saiko stabbing its leg with her quinque.
No, I told you to run!
"Maman-!" She started to yell.
But she was slashed, her arm flying off. Her eyes became terrified, and blood sprayed everywhere. She looked up at me as if I was going to help, but I couldn't move, my body felt numb. I reached for her, screaming.
"Noooo!" I screamed.
The next slash cut her clean in half, spraying blood across the cobblestone floor. Her body fell and I froze up, my mind going numb.
I was dropped to the ground, seemingly the monster lost interest in me and went back to killing civilians. I dragged myself, making a blood trail to her body.
I put my hand on her cheek, cracking a small, sad smile.
"H-Hey, I was going to spoil you with treats today, right? Shirazu was supposed to help me make you stop eating junk food, right?" I said, my voice shaking.
Tears slowly went down my cheek, as my mind started to shatter. My body shook uncontrollably, and my eye turned its kakugan on, making veins go across my face.
"You were the one who noticed something's wrong with me first... remember? Your so caring for everyone you meet, Saiko." I said, my voice still shaking.
I slowly stood up, I clenched my face, a kagune spraying out of my back, shaped as a long centipede.
Not a kagune, but a Kakuja. Sorry, but just this time, I'm going to let it go, all my sorrow.
I slowly smiled sadistically, and looked over at the creature, snapping my finger.
"No one... takes... from me..." I said, my voice rattling as a mask covered my face, forming a mask across one side of my face.
I took a step forward, my body suddenly feeling light. Ahh... why didn't I do this earlier? I would've been able to save her. I would've been able to save all of them.
Save? Save who? Who am I talking about again?
Oh well... all I need to do is...
I look over at the Kakuja creature again and a smirk appears on my face. "Eat that, right?"
