There lived a poet in the lands of gold,
Wrote along poems unaffected by warmth or cold,
His words spoke truth and pen's stroke was bold,
His only motive: lives to mould.
He wrote of things you never would have thought,
And things your imagination would never have caught,
But with soul so spirited he wrote on,
About Nature, trees, living and its pros and con,
For versing of life was his journey's end,
And Versed with Life had messages to send.
First that he said that you must know,
Is to carry your morals wherever you go,
Change it not for a foreign treat,
Morals are native; respect it till last you breathe.
Second that he said that you must know,
Never to anyone your weakness show,
They will play with it and break your soul,
Better to keep the secret, keep yourself whole.
Third he asked you to follow your dream,
Remembering that hard work accompanies where opportunity gleam,
People will say for they are meant to say,
Don't get discouraged for you will have your day.
Fourth, keep faith in yourself the poet said,
Sometimes happiness is worth more than you get paid,
Live to see all your aspirations through,
Try everything; everyday learn something new.
Last he told not to be content,
No one is perfect but everyone has gifts God sent,
Strive for more and improve your skills,
Aim for infinity; neither skies nor hills.
And the poet still lives in you and in me,
Together he is still teaching us to be,
A visionary and a leader in times of need,
Follow your own path, but don't forget to plant the seeds,
For a thousands are to tread paths unknown,
Let his Versed with Life be a guide, a backbone.
