Levin POV
Getting on the train was actually pretty hard to do. The whole station was packed full of people, and when we finally got onto one, we were all piled on quickly.
"Whoa!" I yelped, being pushed onto the train with the girls in tow. But soon, two groups split off, and it seemed me and Rize got separated from the twins.
Rize sighed once the people around us settled, we were by the doors, I was against the door while she was practically being pushed against me. She grit her teeth as if in pain.
"Are you okay?" I asked silently.
She nodded slightly. "Just a bit... claustrophobic." She said, her breathing becoming hoarse.
Rize is claustrophobic? That's surprising, I thought she wouldn't have a phobia. But she really looks like she having trouble. And I have no pressure on me at all...
I get an idea, and grab Rize by the shoulders, this makes her flinch and her face turn red. "W-What-!"
I quickly change our positions, and put my arms around her, trapping her in a slightly bigger space as she did before. These people were way too needy for space, we barely had any!
Rize started to calm down and hid her face from me. "T-Thanks..." she murmured.
"Yeah..." I mumbled. Was it me or did that thanks sound really cute! What is going through my head? Am I imagining things? I've noticed for awhile now, that she isn't very dominant when she tries anything towards me anymore, and becomes embarrassed easily... could it be...
She's actually the type who's shy!?!?
That would mean she likes guys who are dominant! But I'm not like that, right? I flinch when thinking about it. Well... I am a bit more harsh on her, and whenever I change persona's... she does seem a bit more bashful...
Could I have the upper advantage!
On purpose, I place my hands on the wall behind her, and stare at her eyes. She freezes, her face turning quickly red. Oh my god.
"Cute..." I murmured.
Rize's expression turned shocked as the train speaker turned on and someone on the intercom spoke.
"Arrived at our next destination, please exit using the doors on the right." Said the voice.
The door behind her opened and we were barraged out by other people in hurries. I got my bearings together, then looked for Rize, but she was nowhere to be seen!
"Where the hell?" I mumbled, scratching my head as I felt a tug on my shirt. I turned around to see Nashiro with a blank look on her face.
"Have you seen sis and big sis, bro?" She asked, a monotone voice suiting her expression.
I sigh. "Now I'm stuck with you? Is this gonna end up like those episodes in anime or manga chapters where the protagonist is gonna have a moment with every other character?" I rambled.
Nashiro kept a straight face. "Huh?"
"Nothing, this author is sticking to the cliches, is all." I mumbled.
"Done breaking the forth wall? Let's go find something to do." She said, tugging at my shirt and pointing at the stalls up the hill from the street we were on.
Luckily the station was next to the shrine where the main stalls were. But the streets were filling with games and such. Everyone here was having a great time, and it was supposed to have a giant fireworks show at midnight.
Damned cliche author.
Me and Nashiro walked around a bit, then stopped at a shooting game. A big stuffed animal was on the top for first place. She looked at me with big puffy dog eyes.
Not that attack!
"D-Do you want that?" I asked nervously.
She nodded enthusiastically, and I sighed, buying me a couple of tries. Surprisingly, I got it first try, and I won. Huh, these things are easier than I thought.
I hand the stuffed animal to Nashiro and she hugs it, it was a white cat, which suited her almost too much. She smiled at me, which made me feel happy, I don't get to see that smile much, from either of them.
"Thank you... I have a question, bro." She said with a troubled expression suddenly.
"Hmm? What is it?" I asked.
She stopped walking and looked troubled. "What do you think of us three?" She said.
"You three? Rize, Kuro and you?" I asked.
She nodded and I scratched my head. Well, they were all my friends, but if I had to categorize them in any form...
"Well... Rize is more of the... annoying friend. And your like a sister to me..." I trail off, not knowing what else to say.
Nashiro tilted her head. "And Kuro?" She asked.
I flinched, I was hoping she wouldn't ask me this question. I looked at the ground and thought. What is Kurona to me? Is she a friend, best friend? Sister? No none of those.
I've been with her the longest out of all of them. At the beginning it was only me, Vincent, and her. Vincent himself was my best friend, but Kurona...
"I... don't know." I mumbled in defeat, my heart for some reason twisted in pain when thinking about this.
Nashiro stared at me for awhile, then smiled and giggled a bit. "I suppose you'll find out soon enough, what those feelings mean." She said.
Just then, a large group of people came rushing from down the shrine, a giant school field trip filled with high schoolers. Like the cliche hitch I thought of, after they dispersed, Nashiro was nowhere in sight.
Crap, now I can't find any of them... I sigh and sit on a bench, near the trees. With it being summer, the cherry blossoms were above me, glowing in the moonlight.
I close my eyes and listen to the wind blowing through them, yeah, this is nice. Suddenly, I hear footsteps and open my eyes, seeing Kurona in front of me and putting a candy Apple to my face.
"Want one?" She asked with a monotone voice. She had one of her own, but it was almost half eaten.
"Y-Yeah... where were you?" I asked as she sat beside me, she shrugged and gave a vague answer of I don't know.
Of course you know! You just don't want to tell me!
"Why are you eating human food? It must taste rotten." I said, looking at the candy Apple in her hand.
"If I bought only one and didn't eat it, it would look suspicious. I bought two and started to eat one to make it more believable." She explained.
We were silent for awhile, then I turned slightly to her and cleared my throat, I felt a little nervous for some reason.
"Hey... what do you think of me, Kuro?" I asked slowly.
Kurona seemed surprised by the question, and looked down at the ground in thought. Soon, she gave a rare smile, and looked over at my eyes, making me freeze up and blush.
"I like you." She said, plainly.
My chest felt like it exploded.
"How... how much like?" I asked silently.
Kurona's smile didn't waver. "I... don't know." She mumbled, licking her Apple a bit, which surprisingly didn't make her smile falter.
A firework went off, and soon followed by others. Midnight huh? I look over at Kurona and stare. She was wearing a skirt and a long sleeve shirt. She was slightly shivering.
I sigh and take off my jacket, putting it over her. She looked at it with surprise and then at me. I look away and lean against the tree again, closing my eyes.
I've been working all week, and barely had any sleep at all, the whole time I was nagged by Kurona and Nashiro to play games in my free time or Rize asking to help with her chores (she's really lazy). My mind hazed a bit and soon I felt very drowsy. I could hear Kurona shifting weight next to me, but it didn't matter.
Surprisingly, I think I fell asleep under that tree.
Kurona POV
The jacket felt warm, and made my heart ache. I clenched my chest and took several deep breathes, but it didn't seem to help. I look down at Levin, who seemed to fall asleep.
I scoot a bit closer, and lean against him.
"Warm..." I mumbled.
I placed my hand on his chest, feeling the pound of his heartbeat going steady. I could smell the scent of a sweet something. Oh god, don't smell, it'll make your kakugan come out!
I quickly try to stop, but I couldn't, my pressed my face against his chest and took a deep breath, and found my face being brought upwards, and soon I was sniffing his neck.
It was getting sweeter, I needed to follow it! I trailed my way up his neck all the way to his face.
It smells... weird... I feel weird...
I take deep breathes, finding my eyes glazed over and leaning forward a bit.
My lips pressed against his cheek, and my heart and kakugan both had the same reaction, they bursted. He was asleep, I shouldn't be doing this! But it felt so good... I can't...
I quickly pull back and pinch myself. My lips felt like they were on fire, and my heart hammered against my ribs more quicker than even when I was fighting. If I reacted this much just by his smell and a peck on the cheek... how would my body react if we actually... kissed.
My head was steaming thinking about that.
I slowly look back at Levin, who only turned a bit from that, and leaned close again, hugging him.
"I think I know... what type of like you are." I murmured.
