*Five Years Later*
(Joey's p.o.v)
Five years. Five horrible years. Alex is still missing and I'm emotionally gone. No one can help me. Our
life was so perfect. Until one day it all crumbled right in my hands. In front of my very own eyes.
Everything gone. People called my name but it's as if I don't hear them. Everything is a blur to me. My
own mother doesn't know who I am. I don't even know myself. I'm a stranger to everyone but most
importantly myself. I'm a monster. "Joey." I look up to see my therapist looking at me terrified. "I'm
so sorry all this happened to you." I shook my head. "It's no ones fault but my selfs." I had just told
this woman everything beginning from the first day of me Alex too the last. "Joey. You're story is
tragic... Heart breaking..." I shook my head. "It's not over. My story is still moving on and I will find
her." And with that I walked out. Not just walked out with my head down and nothing left to do or to
say. But I walked out with my head held high and a mission on my mind. Trust me when I say this.
This
mission was like no other. This mission was to find my babies mother. And my baby. Those girls are
my life. Even too this day. They never leave my mind. "Joey." My mother puffed. "How did it go? You
were in there longer than expected..." I shook my head. "Mother I don't have time." I stated coldly as I
sped past her towards my car. "Joey stop please!" She cried. I sighed at this. I am a grown man and I
need to find my family. "Goodbye mother." I hissed as I started my car up and began driving. I drove
for what seemed like hours. Hours upon hours upon hours. Finally I stopped at a gas station. "Excuse
me sir." I chimed as I walked into the dead gas station. "What can I do for a feller like you?" He asked.
I
smirked at this "There is one thing you can try and tell me actually." I reached down into my wallet
and pulled out the very last picture I had taken of Alex before she disappeared and I held it up to his
searching face. "Have you seen this girl... It's kind of an old picture but please sir I'm begging you.
Help me out." He snatched the picture from my hands and scanned it over and over. "You know boy.
I'm going to be honest with you. I've seen her maybe once but that was years ago.. About three?" I
sighed and nodded as he handed me the picture back. "Well I appreciate your help. Wish I could have
got here sooner." He nodded. "Any particular reason you're looking for her??" I put my head down as
all the events occurred in front of my eyes once again. "Sir...She ran away about five years ago and no
one that I know of has seen her since. And she was carrying my baby." His eyes lit up at this. "I
remember her all too well!!! She had a beautiful little baby girl with her! She was singing her too
sleep
as the little girl wouldn't stop crying... Gosh that girl was beautiful. She had came in here to buy
diapers but she had little money. Actually she had change. I helped her out. I hate seeing those in
need struggle." I smiled at this."I'm glad to know her and that little girl of mine is alive. Thank you so
much!" And with that I ran off.
I had been driving for what felt like days. I was at the Florida Georgia line. Alex's favorite state in the
whole universe. She has to be here I screamed in my head as I kept driving. I pulled off to a gas
station
where as I had needed gas and needed answers. "Why hello sir you a resident?" I shook my head. "No
actually I'm not. I was wondering if you could answer a question for me." I stated as I began pulling
the last picture I had of Alexandria out of my wallet. "Have you seen this girl?" I questioned as I
handed him the picture. "I know her! That's Elena! And her young daughters name is Nadia!" I
furrowed my eyebrows. "Her name is Alexandria?" He shook his head fast. "No she said her name was
Elena! She lives in Orlando with her husband Dean. "Thanks." I muttered thrashing too my car pissed.
How the fuck could she leave me and get married with my damn daughter! I was furious I didn't even
fill my car up.
I had finally reached Orlando and was driving through the streets looking for any sign or girl who
looked familiar to Alexandria or so called "Elena" now.
I had been driving for what seemed like hours and I was about to give up when I came across a young
girl and small little girl. I drove closer to listen. "Mommy when can we go home?" The small young girl
with flat brown hair. "Soon Nadia soon." I glistened as I heard that name. It's them It's really them.
"Mommy when will daddy stop hurting you." She sighed and put her head down at this question.
HURTING HER? I slammed my fist on the wheel pissed. "I don't know baby." She answered slowly. I
shook my head furious thinking of how bad I was going to hurt this guy Dean. "ELENA!" A mans voice
yelled as he came into view and forcefully grabbed her shoulder. "Y-yes Dean?" She yelped out.
"Come home and make me dinner!" He hissed smacking her across her face. That's it. I jumped out of
the car and walked over punching the asshole in the face. "Alex..." I breathed as I watched her shake
in fear. "Joey you shouldn't be here It's dangerous." I shook my head. "I'm here to see my daughter." I
hissed looking down at little Nadia crying. "Sh,Sh." I cooed as I rocked her in my arms. "We don't
have
much time come with me." Alex whispered dragging me to a house. "Alex you need to explain to me
what's going on." I pressed as I set the now sleeping Nadia down. "Joey we can't please just get me
out of here!" She screamed. I nodded quickly and packed whatever stuff I saw in front of me. "Is this
enough?" I questioned now looking at her shaking face. "Alex what's wrong?" She wouldn't answer
me she just looked ahead and kept shaking. "Hey there pretty boy." I turned around to come face to
face with that asshole Dean again. "Why do you have my baby and girlfriend here." He laughed and
spit in my face. "Shut the fuck up." He hissed throwing me to the ground hitting my head over and
over on the ground. "A-a-a-alex...run." I breathed as I blacked out to the screams of Nadia as Alex ran
and ran and ran... And every since that night I haven't been awake. Its as if i'm conscious but i'm not
conscious. All I hear is people talking to me and a beeping that never ends. All I want is Alex and my
little girl. Will everything ever be the same again?
