Dean...
I got Katlyn in the impala and hit the gas spinning tires turning around and back into town, I pulled her close beside me still trying to wake her up but nothing worked. I turn the curves going 60 miles an hour and faster, I grab my phone and dial 911 "911 what's your emergency?" I almost scream into the phone "What is the nearest hospital to route 40?!" The person says "Sir what is your emergency?" "I NEED A HOSPITAL DAMN IT!!'' the girl on the other end finally replies "There is a hospital 10 miles from route 40 now sir-"But before she could go on I hang up.
Finally after the 10 miles felt like 100 I seen the big ER sign, I swerve through traffic and fish tail into the emergency unloading dock I pull to a fast stop and jump out running around to the other side getting Katlyn in my arms I run for the automatic doors as they open for me. The room was full of nurses and doctors running around to a different patience at a time, I run through screaming "HELP I NEED SOME HELP PLEASE!!!" Two nurses see me and run over to me as one pushes a bed with her, they make it to me as one says "Lay her down" I do so then the other begins to work on her shining a light in her eyes and feeling for her pulse "Sir" I look down to the nurse that must have been talking to me but I wasn't listening I reply "What?" She franticly goes on "What happen to her!?" I nod "She, she was in a-a car wreck and when I got her out she-she just past out! Can you tell me what is wrong with her? What happen to her? Why is she not awake!?!" The nurse looking over at Katlyn "Are you a member of the family sir?" Very confused I say "I am sorry a what?! She is dying and you want to know if I am a family member?!?!" the nurse says "Unless you are a family member I cannot tell you anything about her condition! And if you are not then I am going to have to ask you to step out into the waiting room" without a second thought I blurt out "SHE'S MY WIFE DAMN IT!!'' after I said that I put my hands behind my back switching moms silver wedding ring to my left ring finger then resting my hands by my side once more. She looks down to my hand, then over to Katlyn who was not wearing one of course. I quickly try and think up an excuse but it was harder then it normally is for me "We- we umm we're getting her ring sized. Now please tell me what is happening to her!!" The nurse that was checking her over had hooked her to a machine that was showing her heart rate and a bunch of other stuff but the heart monitor is what got all our attentions when it started making a very loud beep, when we look up and the line that was going up and down had now started to flatten out. The nurse yells "GET ME A DOCTOR WE HAVE A CODE BLUE I REPEAT CODE BLUE!!!" she then starts doing chest compressions on her as a man in a white lab coat comes running over saying "Get me a crash cart now!" The nurse that was talking to me had now put a mask on Katlyn sending air into her and the other nurse got on the bed with Katlyn and continued doing the compressions as they pushed her to the next open room where a team of doctors and nurses was running around hooking everything up to another machine.
They wheel her in and the nurse gets back on the ground as they cut Katlyn's shirt off and stick two square paper like pads to her chest, they were all too busy to tell me to leave so I just stood in horror as the doctor got a defibrillator and rubbed the paddles together as he said "Charging 100... and clear" he put the paddles to Katlyn's chest and an electric shock went through her body making her chest rise then fall limply back into the bed. He looks at the monitor as a nurse says "No change" he nods "Okay again... charging 150 ... clear" He does the same as before and again Katlyn's body jolts up then back down but this time a nurse says "We have a pulse!'' everyone looks to the monitor to see a heartbeat coming but up, the doctor says "Okay she's back now what are her injuries?" One of the nurses reads out "Car crash, three possible broken rib, fractured bone in her right leg, head trauma with swelling of the brain and lacerations along her head, arms, legs and chest" The doctor just nods saying "Okay let get her into trauma" they wheel her out as I go to follow but the doctor stops me with his arm, I look over to him as he says ''I have some questions for you Mister?" I think quickly "I ahh I'm Grey...umm Dean Grey" The doctor nods going on "okay Mister Grey they said this is your wife?" I nod quickly "Y-Yes Katlyn" He nods going on to say "Well she was in a car wreck and I am just wondering what exactly the whole story is?" confused I try understanding what exactly he is saying "What-what do you mean?" he replies "If this is your wife why is it she was in a car wreck and you weren't but yet you found her" At this point I was about pissed off with him but I tried keeping my cool saying "Me and my wife got into a fight over our-our bills and she left well after she left I decided to go after her and that's when I found the crash" that sounded believable enough right? He nods "Well that's good enough for me" Then turns running back down the hall to Katlyn's room they now had her in, I go to follow but a nurse stops me saying "Sir if you would just give us a minute to stabilize your wife then you are welcome to come back" I start to protest but she continues "Maybe you have someone you would like to call?" at which point I remember "Sammy..." Nodding I turn walking to the side getting my phone calling Sam
Around thirty minutes later the doors open as Sam comes running in looking around then finding me sitting in one of the chairs with my head in my hands. He had started to drive to the next town so that's why it took him so long to get here, he runs over to me as I stand and attacks me in one of his little brother hugs. He pulls back saying "Have they said anything yet?" I shake my head no "No they are still back there working on her I haven't heard anything new yet" He nods then rubs his face "How-how does it look?" Reluctant to answer I still go along "She flat lined when we first came in but they got her back. She-She's not to good Sammy" Sam shakes his head looking down to his feet.
Sam and I both sat in the chairs talking over back up plains just in case worse came to worse, we talked over spells we knew and made some calls trying to find help. "What about a faith healer?" Sam says looking through his phone. I shake my head "Last time we went through that it was a reaper on a leash." Sam just nods looking down clicking his phone "Have you called Bobby?" I look up thinking for a moment then say "No... I just want to see how she is before I call him" Sam sighs "Dean he has a right to know I mean she is like his daughter." I snap "I know that Sam why do you think I don't want to call him!! What do I say!? Oh hey Bobby listen Katlyn's in the ICU trauma area after she got in a wreck because of me. So sorry that I am not jumping to the gun to call him!" Sam puts his hands up surrendering "Okay, okay I'm sorry man..." I look down shaking my head then leaning down putting my head in my hands rubbing my face, I say "I'm sorry Sammy... I just... I can't lose her man" he pats my shoulder "we'll find something Dean." The door to the ICU opens and me and Sam both look up as a woman walks out saying "Katlyn Grey's family?" We both look around seeing it was just the two of us in the small waiting room. I stand "Y-yeah I'm her husband and this is my brother" nodding to Sam he gives me an odd glace reminding me I forgot to fill him in on the whole story I made up. She glance to both of us going on to say "well Miss Grey is stabilized for now and you can go see her if you would like but I must tell you she is in a medicated coma to help with the swelling on her brain but it has seemed to have stopped and is now even started to decrees so we will be starting to give her what we call awake medicine every 5 hours to help her come out of the medicated coma she also has some internal bleeding but we believe we have been able to stop it, then she fractured a collar bone along with three broken rib, a fractured bone in her right leg so she will be in a cast for a two weeks or so, one of her shoulders was out of place we were able to set it back in but it almost seemed as if it had already been set before like sometime earlier and she of course has some lacerations along her head, arms, legs and chest " Nodding I push past her leaving all the thank yous to Sam all I wanted was to just go see Katlyn.
Katlyn...
You slowly start to wake up to a pounding in your head and your entire body ached. It took everything you had just to get your eyes open they were so heavy and you felt so sleepy but something was beeping along with something wrapped around your head to your nose woke you up, your eyes slowly adjust to the light in the very white room with a wooden door going out. Everything was still extremely blurry to you like you had been asleep for years but the blurriness started fading and you looked around the room to find you were in a hospital room and you were hooked to many different machines and tubes with needles running in and out of you.
As you look around focusing your eyes you see a blurry figure at the corner of the room, your eyes clear and you see it was Sam asleep in a chair at the corner of the room but Dean wasn't in the other chair...there wasn't another chair like there normally is...The numbness in you started fading away and you felt some kind of weight on your left hand and leg, you turn your head slowly to find Dean had moved the chair to the side of your bed and was sound asleep holding on to your hand with one hand and had his other rested across your leg with his head laid down on the bed. You smile some but it even hurt then to smile so you move your right hand some that had a IV running to it and a needle going into it taped up, you lift your hand a little and slowly move it over to Dean placing it in his short but incredibly soft hair then with just that small movement Dean jerks up shooting his eyes straight to you, for a second he had a look of relief on his face but it quickly turned back to worry, sadness and concern. He goes to say something but you say quietly "shhh" then looking over at Sam who was still asleep. Dean glances over to Sam but turns right back to you standing some leaning over kissing your forehead then sitting back down in the chair taking your left hand in both of his kissing it then resting it back on the bed rubbing his thumb along the back of it. You smile at him and weakly say "hi..." Dean takes a deep shaky breath and sighs smiling tiredly "hi gorgeous..." you look around the room feeling Dean's beautiful green but tried eyes watching you.
You see the clock and whisper "how-how long have I been out?" he glances at the clock then says "26 hours" you raise your eyebrows at out specific he was with it, he smiles what would normally be his cute amazing smile but it was tried and weak like he had been up for every hour you were out. He whispers "what is it?'' You smile saying "nothing just worried about you" he chuckles lightly "you're the one sitting in the hospital bed and you're worried about me?" you think then nod smiling. Dean looks around saying "are you hurting do you want me to get you a doctor?" You shake your head no then look back to the hand that had a IV in it, you sigh and reach for it to jerk it out of your hand but Dean quickly catches on to what your doing, he leans over the bed saying like a parent "No, no, no hey quit that Don't even think about" he grabs your hand you were trying to jerk the IV out with taking it back in his hands sitting back down in the chair holding it saying almost to himself "I don't need them putting you back under for ripping your IVs out" you roll your eyes "I am fine I just really hate needles" he shakes his head saying under his breath " she'll kill a werewolf, dig up a grave, burn bones and will fight and decapitate vampires but needles...no" Rolling your eyes "shut up...so what is the word?" Dean takes a deep breath "well when we got you in here you went into blue code so they had to take and shock you back then they took you straight to trauma, you got a concussion which I find hard to believe with your hard head but that led to swelling so they had to put you in a medicated coma to help with the swelling but it stopped and came down then you have three broken ribs, your right leg has a fracture so it's going to have to be in a cast for around two weeks or so then you fractured your collarbone, there was some internal bleeding but they got that stopped in time before it did much damage, you got some lacerations on your head, neck, arms and legs then of course on your stomach and they said your shoulder was dislocated some but they said they popped it back but it was weird because it looked like it had been place back already once" you nod laying back saying "yeah that was before the crash" then soon as that came out of your mouth you close your eyes and think "crap, crap, crap"
Dean tilts his head eyeing you "what-what are you talking about?" you sigh "I umm I fell in the ahh parking lot." Dean raises his eyebrow saying "want to try that again pain killers?" you think and say "fine Sam popped it back in for me." Dean sits back some his eyes going from side to side as he was thinking back then says "when?" you lay your head back once more biting your bottom lip "after you left" Dean didn't say anything... you kept your eyes closed but you didn't hear or feel any movement from Dean beside you. After a few moments you felt some slight presser on your side, you glance over at him and he had put his head down on your side then says in almost a whisper "I'm sorry..." you place your hand on his back rubbing it lightly "it wasn't your fault Dean... I already hurt it kind of bad getting into the room when I heard the glass" he doesn't look up at you but says "I pushed you Katlyn... I shouldn't have pushed you" You say "you didn't mean to Dean and besides you saved my life Dean... if you did come down that road I would have went up in that car" he sighs "If I wouldn't have been such a ass you wouldn't be in here right now" You think of some way to make him look at it a different way "If you didn't care so much I wouldn't be able to be sitting here right now talking to you... it's not your fault Dean none of it is so don't even think about thinking it is" you go on rubbing his back for a moment but he sits back up rubbing his face "hell you're the one in the hospital I'm supposed to be comforting you not the other way around" You just smile up at him as he stands saying "I am going to go get your doctor" He leans down kissing you on your forehead once more then turning walking out of the room.
You lay back trying to relax in your bed waiting for Dean to get back when you hear "He loves you" You look to where it was coming from and see Sam still with his eyes closed but awake, you smile saying "What makes you so sure?" Sam shrugs "I know my brother and I know he was about to lose his mind...this is the first time he has actually left your side ever since they let us back here" You smile again "Well he has to be crazy to stick around after this" Motioning to your condition. Sam doesn't say anything at first but then says
"He would be crazy not to"
