You couldn't help it... It was just one of those nights that you couldn't help but to feel crushed by sadness. This, of course, went unnoticed by your partner Sherlock, and he knew exactly what would make you feel better.
Going over to where you were sulking on the couch, he gently sat near your head. "Darling, come here and tell me what's wrong."
Not saying anything you sat up and put your head in his lap, letting him play with your hair.
"I just.... can't help but to feel... worthless..." You say trying your best to not break down into tears.
"Oh darling, you're not worthless. You mean everything to me. You make me feel better than anyone I've ever known, don't call yourself worthless when you're the person that opened my heart to see that love can do wondrous things! And it's not just any love, it's yours."
"Thank you Sherlock, you make me feel special, and I can't thank you enough for that."
"Never thank me for making you feel special because that's still not equivalent to the way you make me feel... I mean it (Y/N), I love you more than anything, and I always will."
"Aw, Sherlock, I love you more than you will bet know." you said as you wrapped your arms around his waist, burying your head into his stomach.
Sherlock bent down and kissed your forehead, while he reached out with his right hand and started stroking your side lovingly.
After a few minutes of sitting in comfortable silence, you piped up.
"Can we go to bed Lock?"
"Of course we can love."
Getting up, you grasped Sherlock's arm, wrapping your arm around it and holding on to his hand with your other hand and leaning your head on his shoulder, you let him lead the way to the bedroom. Once in the bedroom, Sherlock led you to your sidearms tucked you in before going over to his and tucking himself in.
You slid over to where Sherlock was and put your head in the crook of his neck, enjoying the enticing smell that he carried. Sherlock began to stroke you hair, and slide closer to you so no space would be between.
Kissing your nose, Sherlock rested his head against yours and just stared into your (E/C) eyes. He couldn't help but to think that you were the most beautiful creature he's ever laid eyes on and how lucky he was to have you.
That night, Sherlock vowed that he would never let you go, and to try to make you feel as special as you made him feel.
Falling asleep in each other's arms, not once did you ever have a feeling of worthlessness, no, you felt like you were floating on cloud 9 and no one was going to pull you down.
