A week and no sight of Blake never once came home or called or answered his phone I was heartbroken and mad but couldn't help but feel worried about him I was walking in the hallway of school I went from English class to the singing one I took my seat and listen to the teacher
"it's time you guys tell us the song you chose to sing with your partner the competition is in two days,write your name and your partner's and also the song you picked and put it in this bowl" the teacher said and we did so.
I wrote the song and Blake's name along with mine and throw it there class went pretty fast and it was lunch time I sat not feeling hungry I bought a bottle of juice to be little energetic my phone rang and it was Julian calling
"Hey" I said"Hi, so how are you feeling now after all that happened?"he asked yes I told him about Blake at work and he took me to his place upstairs and we lied down as he comfort me
"getting better" I lied I cry every night in that dark apartment
"good, so any news?" he asked
"no not really, just that the teacher announced that the competition will be in two days and we should write down the song we picked to sing" I informed him
"but you don't have a partner, what will you do?" he asked
"don't know maybe I'll sing alone but they won't accept me and I have to win this" I remembered the mafia I totally forgot about the danger I was in if I lost
"I can sing with you" he suggested a"really?" I asked
"yeah of course what are best friends for just tell me the name of the song and I'll train on the male part we can sing it together when you come to work and see how it goes" he said
"Thank you" I replied then the bell ring "well I gotta go to class see you later" I said
"Later Love" he replied and I hang up rushing to class
School ended and I went home, and just like every day it was empty I changed and turned on the Tv then the doorbell rang I went and opened it and there stood Alex
"Hey" he greeted
"Hi" I replied and opened the door wider for him to step in
"how are you" he asked
"fine, I guess" I replied and we took a seat
"just came to tell you Blake is fine" he started and I turned to look at him "he's staying at the beach house" he added and I nodded
"Hailey you know he would never hurt you right" he said
"yeah but why didn't he answer me when I asked him where he slept that night" I questioned "because he honestly didn't know" he replied and I was confused
"what do you mean?" I asked
"look I'll explain the whole thing for you" he said and I nodded
"after he was mad like that he came to the race and won we all went partying like we usually do but there were this girl always hitting on him and following him but he always pushed her away" he started and I nodded for him to continue "He was drunk and so was Daniel so I grabbed a taxi for Blake and told the driver the address because I knew you will be here and I had to take Daniel because he always done stupid things while he was drunk and end up in jail" he said "the next day Blake called me and asked me to come and take him from this place and I went, he got in the car and explained to me what happened, he said that the taxi stopped in the traffic then a guy came and gave him money he was drunk and dizzy couldn't figure out what was happening the taxi drove him to this isolated place and throw him there he tried to fight but a guy came from behind and drugged him and he passed out there the whole night" he finished and I was shocked, it was him it was the unknown guy he said the cost will be worse and he meant it "Oh my god!" I gasped "I should've let him explain how could I" I said feeling guilty and hurt
"it's not your fault" Alex tried to comfort me
"can I go see him?" I asked
"I'm sorry but he refuses to see anyone even his own mother" he said and I nodded I understood he needed space to think
"his mom heard about you maybe she'll come here" he said and I panicked what can I say to her? What would I do?
"don't worry Hailey she's a nice person,she might seem arrogant or cold but that's how she is" he stated trying to make me feel better and I nodded
"Okay, I gotta go now just came to make things clear he loves you Hailes and I know you love him too" he said then left
I do I really doBut how could I think of him like that, the unknown freak was the one that did that how come I never thought of him, Shit! I need to fix things but how everything is just a mess right now I'll try and figure things out tomorrow.
I woke up by the doorbell ringing, who could this be? Maybe it was Blake I jumped out of bed and ran to the door swing it open and there stood a very beautiful lady with the most fashionable clothes "Good morning, how can I help you?" I asked her and she looked surprised
"Excuse me, I'm the one that should ask that I'm at my son's apartment" she explained then walked in and my eyes widen this was Blake's mom Alex told me she'll be coming but I didn't think she'll be here this soon
"sorry Mrs I didn't know you were Blake's mother" I apologized
"and you must be the girl, Hailey" she said looking at me and I felt uncomfortable in my shorts and tank top
"Yes Mrs" I replied
"look I don't want to take a lot of your time but I just need to ask a couple of questions" she said and I nodded
"Why are you living in here?" she asked
"because after my mom's death dad became an alcoholic and then he ran from home leaving me alone and our house was taken from me so Blake offered me his help" I said in half honesty
"Em I see, sorry for your mom's lost by the way" she replied still standing and I nodded blocking the tears away "it must be really hard for you,without her" she asked coming closer "yeah" I said slowly
"Blake didn't hurt you on purpose he'd never loved a girl before" she said "and loving you was the big thing that happened to his life" she added
"I knew Mrs and I feel the same way but it's just that things are complicated" I replied
"everything has an answer Hailey just don't give up and him" she said holding my hand "and call me Helen" she added smiling
"Okay, thanks" I said
"No problem sweety, just fix things soon" she said heading to the door "I will" I replied smiling
"I'll see you soon then, Ah I remembered the competition is soon what did you choose for a song?" she asked pausing at the door as I answered her she waved and walked away
Well that went well, I headed to my room and then to the bathroom took a shower and started getting ready for the competition I did my hair and makeup picked an outfit and called Julian
"Love!" he answered
"Hey, how are you?" I asked putting the outfit on my bed
"fine, so ready for the big day?" he asked and I felt a little nervous
"yeah I guess" I replied unsure"Oh come on you're gonna kill this you have a great voice" he assured me and I smiled
"Thanks, well we better go get ready then, I'll see you later" I said
"later, Love" he replied and we hang up
I throw my phone on my bed and started getting dressed after I finished everything I went to the kitchen and took a bowl put some Greek yogurt on it and top It with some berries sat down eating it
I tried calling Blake maybe he'll answer now but no use I gave up and took my shoe and headed to where the competition was I reached there and it was crowded a lot of people from different schools and some from my school I kept looking for any familiar faces until I saw Alex and Daniel coming my way
"Hey guys you came!" I said feeling little better ow that I'm not all alone wonder where Julian is
"Of course, didn't wanna miss it I've heard you have a nice voice came to make sure of it" Daniel said and I slapped his arm
"what was that for!" he said rubbing his arm "grow up" I replied then turned to Alex with questioning eyes and he looked at me with apologetic eyes and shook his head I felt a pang of hurt but I smiled sadly at him
"Now I'm gonna go take a seat, so I can find one at the front, good luck" Alex said smiling and I nodded
"See you there, break a leg or a voice" Daniel said than ran after Alex shouting
"Wait up man!" he was really funny
My phone buzzed I rushed to read the text maybe it was from Blake but it was from the unknown number You're looking gorgeous with that dress Hailey and with that lovely voice of yours I'm sure you'll win Ps: that song is my favoriteI read it he's here he's watching me how did he know about the song I kept looking around but there were too many people how can I know who it was then I felt a hand touch my shoulder I turned around and there was this lady there
"you're a candidate right?" she asked and I nodded"please come with me back stage the others are there" she said and I smiled following her
All of the candidates were there some were called to preform and others were waiting I looked around looking for Julian but he wasn't here I started to panic where could he be I called him but he didn't answer
"Hailey and Blake are up next" the guy shouted, I had to other choice but to go alone they might not count me in but I can't give up now I looked at the people who were watching and saw Frank and Tony sitting with them "Hailey and Blake your turn" I took the mic and headed to the stage all of the people were staring at me I looked at Alex and he smiled at me while Daniel gave me a thumps up I held the mic and started singing

"I-I" I tried to speak but he cut me in with putting his lips on my directly I slipped my hand behind his neck and he held my waist I missed his taste and the way his lips felt so good on mine so soft and how our lips moved in perfect sync we pulled away and all of the crowd stood up clapping and sheering for us I rested my forehead on his and we smiled at each other
"I love you Hailey" he whispered
"I love you too" I whispered back
