There was silence, but after few minutes, he asked me, "Have you read the letter?"
I answered, "No. Not yet. I don't want to read it, honestly."
It seems like something's bothering Michael. I don't want to ask him because most of the time, he's the one who's opening up or sharing his problems to me.
"I have something to tell you, Lance." Michael said. "I have feelings for Julia. I already confessed to her but she said that it's you who she loves." I was really surprised by what Michael said. Maybe that's reason why he's not into dating this past few months. Then I asked, "When did you confessed?"
"Day before they're going to Sweden. I kept my feelings for her for almost two years! I dated other women but it's still her that I love. But then, I guess I'm not enough for her." Michael really looks sad. Agh! I wish I didn't tell him about the letter, but if I didn't, I won't know this secret.
I have to say something. "Uhh. Dude! You should've told me that. I could've helped you!"
"No. I guess it would be better if we're just friends. Besides, you're the one she loves."
"But I dont' love her!" My voice is kinda loud so, the people in the restaurant looked at us. I apologized by giving them a smile. Some murmured and said, "Oh look, that's the prince, isn't it?"
Then, there was silence. We just finsh eating and as we part ways, I just said, "See you bro!" Just what I thought, he didn't answer.
When I got home, I just felt very tired. I don't know if it's because of playing golf or because of thinking some things. I can't tell this problem of mine since my parents are out of the country for some charity works. I really tell them my problems. Well, this is not actually a problem. Actually, I don't even what it is. This is why I don't like falling in love.
So, I went straight to my room. There, I saw again Julia's letter in my table. Should I read it?
I know that I should read it, but there's a part of me that doesn't want me to read it. I don't know if I'm just scared or what. I don't want to hurt my best friend's feelings.
Fine! I'll just read it! For the sake of our friendship. Anything that is written here will not change the way I feel about her.
While I was opening the letter, I remembered what happened in the restaurant. I feel so bad about it.
Julia's letter is kinda long, so I'll break it down for you. She said in her letter that she misses me and she still loves me and she hopes that one day I'll relaize that I love her too. Not as a friend, but as a girlfriend.
Sigh. This is not what I thought it would be. I thought that she will tell me that she has given up on me and she realized that I'm not the one for her. But I was wrong.
Now, I've decided. I'll help Michael. I guess I'll be a matchmaker, which is not suited for me. But I don't care about that now. My friends are important for me. I don't want to ruin our friendship just because someone has fallen in love with somebody.
Oh, I forgot to say. Julia also said in her letter that she would be coming back here in London, maybe next week. I think I should get ready.
