A Twilight Twist: Depressed
Chapter 3
Bella’s POV
When i woke up, i was in a hospital bed.
I took and deep breath and started looking around the room, when something caught my eye.
It was a figure with pale white skin.
I jumped.
I shut my eyes tightly, fearing it was James my abductor.
“Please, don't hurt me” i cried out to him.
“Bella, its okay. I’m not going to hurt you.” A voice soothed
“Yes...you are. You hurt me before.”
“No, Bella. I’m not the person who hurt you. He’s gone, he’s not coming back.” He told me.
Than who is he?
“You’re....you’re not?” I opened my eyes slowly, to see the man of my dreams before me.
Am i dead? This cant be real! Hes just a figure of my imagination!
I smiled at him.
“You’re my angel?” i said, but it sounded more like a question.“You’re real?”
“Yes, Bella. I’m real.” He smiled at me
“No.... You can’t be real. I’m dead. I died....James killed me, didn’t he? You were only a figure in my dreams. You can’t be real.” I shook my head.
I can’t believe this is happening! Maybe I’m in heaven?
“No, Bella, you’re not dead. I’m here and I’m not a dream.” he told me.
I was beyond shocked at this point.
“That’s what you want me to think. I can’t even imagine how this is going to affect my mom... or Charlie. He must feel really bad since I disappeared while i was with him.” I rambled on, when he grabbed my hand.
“Bella, you’re not dead. My father and I helped you. We brought you to the hospital and you’re alive. Everything is okay.”
Without thinking, i gripped his hand and shut my eyes.
I wished this moment could last forever.
“Edward? We need to move her into a different room. Her dad is waiting to see her.” The mans voice i recognized from my ‘dream’ said calmly.
I felt his hand trying to leave mine, so i gripped it tighter.
He laughed. “Bella, you have to let go. You’re going to see your dad.”
I shook my head.
“If I let go, you will disappear.” I said, opening my eyes, looking up at him helplessly.
He sighed than started pushing my bed to the door.
“What room?” he asked the man, Carlisle.
“203.” he said.
They pushed me down to my room.
Once we got there, Carlisle started hooking me up to the machines.
The door flew open just as Carlisle hooked the last machine to me. Charlie came in, still dressed in his uniform. “Bella?” he asked me, a little unsure. I dropped Edwards hand and looked up at my dad, nodding. He rushed over to me, and pulled me into a hug. “Bella, thank God your okay. You’ve been missing for 5 years!”Charlie started getting all teary. Edward and his father Carlisle left the room.
“Bella what happened to you?” he asked me.
“I......don’t....remember” i said reluctantly.
This was not a good time for this, and i didn’t really feel like talking about what happened.
“Oh. Well do you remember who took you?” he asked me.
“Dad...i don’t really remember anything.” I chocked.
“Okay. Well, your Mom is in the waiting room. Her and Phil already have you packed. As soon as you’re out of here you can go back to Phoenix.”
I don’t want to go back to Phoenix! I just met my angel, and now I have to leave? But I can’t stand to be in the same place i was abducted and almost killed. What am i going to do?
“Dad, can’t I stay for a few days? I’m not ready to go back to Phoenix yet.” I asked him.
He sighed “You’re gonna have to take it up with your Mom. She’s been looking forward to seeing you.”
“Well, do you mind getting her. I have to talk to her.”
He nodded his head, before leaving the room.
I zoned out in my thoughts.
I can’t leave him, I just can’t! I find out he’s real and i have to leave? But at the same time i don’t want to be here. James beat me, and almost killed me here. Plus he kidnapped me here in the first place!
I didn’t hear anyone come in until Edward grabbed my hand.
I jumped.
“I didn’t mean to scare you.” He reassured me.
I sighed. “It’s alright. I’m a bit jumpy today anyways.” I told him.
He chuckled. I love you Bella with all my heart. I will never hurt you, ever. I promise. James said, than he started touching me in wrong places.
Tears started falling down my face.
“Bella?” Edward asked me again. ”What’s wrong?”
“It’s...nothing” I sobbed.
“I know It’s something. You can tell me anything.” He told me.
Should I tell him all the horrible things James did to me? He would probably start crying himself
“I...I...can’t” i cried out.
“I know It’s hard. I can’t imagine the horrible things he did to you, but It would make you feel better if you talked about It.”
I nodded my head.
“J-James he.” I took a deep breath before continuing “S-Said the e-exact same thing, before he....t-touched me”
Edward pulled me into a hug.
“I’m sorry Bella, I promise he wont hurt you! I won’t let him near you again.”
I leaned into his shoulder.
“Edward” i muttered sleepy.
“Yes?”
“I’m falling for you to” i told him.
And than i fell asleep.

When i woke up, I felt someone holding my hand.
I jumped not realizing who it was.
The memories of last night came flooding back into my mind.
I relaxed a little more, once I figured out who was holding my hand, my angel.
“Wheres my mom?” I whispered to him.
“Right here, baby!” I heard my mother say.
My eyes flew open.
She was smiling at me.
“Mom! I’ve missed you so much!” I told her.
She walked over to my bed, and gave me a hug.
I looked over at Edward, his eyes were open.
I smiled at him.
He wasn’t a dream! He’s real, and with me now. He didn’t disappear.
Edward smiled back at me.
He started to move his hand away from mine, i just held tighter.
He chuckled softly.
I turned back to my mom, who was staring at Edward and me with a crazed expression.
“Uh, Mom. This is Edward.” I told her.
He looked over at my Mom and smiled.
“Edward, this is my Mom”” I told him.
I laughed.
Mom was drooling over him. Hes probably dazzling her like he does to me.
“Stop dazzling her” I whispered to Edward.
He sighed and ran his free hand through his messy bronze hair.
Hes so beautiful! How is this amazing creature so... Wonderful!
“Mom” I called, trying to get her attention.
She continued to stare at Edward.
“MOM!” I yelled.
She looked over at me.
“I'm sorry.” she apologized
l laughed quietly.
“I’ll leave you two to have some privacy” Edward said.
I frowned.
“I’ll come back” He said, smiling.
He bent down and kissed my forehead, before leaving out the door.
I sighed.
“Bella, Ive missed you so much” Mom told me.
“Ive missed you too Mom!”
“Do you know who kidnapped you?” she asked.
I winched.
“Uh, not really” i lied.
“Okay, well I guess it doesn’t matter” She muttered.

“I picked up a couple things for you Bells.” Dad said.
“Uh, Thanks” I told him.
We were driving to his house.
I decided to stay for a few days, to figure out what i want to do.
Mom bought a motel room close by.
We pulled up in the driveway to the familiar house.
It didn’t change one bit.
On the lawn there was a sign, it read: Welcome Home Bella!
I blushed.
“Dad, you shouldn’t of.” I said.
He chuckled.
“It wasn’t my idea” He told me.
I looked on the porch and saw Mom, with a bunch of people.
I blushed a deeper shade of red.
“What is this, a party?” I asked him.
“More like a get together” Charlie answered.
I sighed.
Maybe I can invite Edward over? Since its my party after all.
“Um, can I invited someone over?” I asked Charlie.
He looked over at me puzzled.
“Who do you want over?”
“Edward” I said breathlessly.
“Dr. Cullen’s kid?” he asked.
I nodded my head. “The one who was at the hospital with me.” I told him
It was quiet for a few minutes.
“I suppose.” he answered.
I smiled.
“Thanks, Dad.” I gave him a hug.
I opened the door to his car and got out.
Charlie did the same.
“I’ll... be right there” I told him.
He nodded his head before walking to the house.
I pulled out the cell phone, Charlie gave me in the hospital and dialed Edwards number.
He answered on the first ring.
“Hello?”
“Hey Edward. It’s Bella. I was wondering, If maybe you want to come over?” I asked him.
“I’d love to” He told me.
I sighed in relief.
“When do you want me to come over?” he asked.
“How about right now?”
“Sounds wonderful! I’ll be right over”
He hung up the phone.
I smiled.
Edwards coming over!
I leaned on my dads car, staring into the house.
I cringed remembering the night of my abduction.
“Daddy can I go play outside?” I asked him.
He nodded his head.
“Don't go to far!” He told me.
I giggled.
“I wont daddy!”
I ran outside with toys in my arms.
“Ah! Hes going to get you Barbie! Run!”
I slammed the toys on the ground.
“Well, Well, Well.... What do we have here?” I heard a voice ask.
I looked up and saw a beautiful man.
I gasped.
He had pale white skin, blonde hair, and bright red eyes.
Before i could take in anything, he grabbed me.
I screamed.
I saw daddy coming out of the house.
“BELLA!” He yelled.
I cried.
And than the monster ran with me.
Now that I think back, I wonder why he was so pale and beautiful? And most importantly why and how he’d have red eyes. Only one thought came to mind. Vampires.
I’ve read about them in books, but they were different. Blood sucking demons who prey on beautiful women.... well mostly women. Extremely pale, beautiful, red eyes, runs fast..... Was James a... vampire?
My thoughts turned to Edward.
Hes pale....beautiful....but he doesn't have red eyes. He cant be a vampire! But what if he is? Wouldn't he be trying to kill me for my blood? And why would he have beautiful butterscotch eyes? It all doesn't make sense!
I heard a car driving up the lane way.
I turned around and saw a shiny Volvo with Edward in it.
I smiled.
Hes here! My beautiful angel! Hes here!
‘Your Vampire Angel’. A voice said in the back of my head.
I froze.
He cant be! This angel like creature can’t be a bloodsucking demon! He sure doesn’t look it.
Edward stepped out of his car, and walked to me.
“Hi” I said when he was a few inch's from me.
“Hi” He said smiling.
I reached for his hand, and grabbed it.
He was freezing cold.
I let go of his hand, stunned.
“Your...hand...is....s-so...cold” I said.
He stared at me in shock.
Bella what are you doing! What if he leaves? You cant let him leave! His hand wasn’t cold before....why is it now? Or maybe it was cold. I just didn’t notice it before.
The familiar touch reminded me of someone, James.
His hands were cold all the time.
Tears started falling down my face.
“Bella? Are you alright?” Edward asked me.
I ran into his arms.
“E-Edward I-It was s-so h-horrible” I told him.
He held me close.
“Shh, It’s alright Bella. Your safe, he wont hurt you. I promise.”
I cried into his chest.
After a few minutes, I pulled away.
I grabbed his hand and led him to the grass, near the forest beside my house.
There was a picnic blanket on the ground already.
“I’m not ready to go back yet.” I told him.
I sat on the ground, and dragged him with me.
He wrapped his arms around me.
“He’s gone now. I promise he won’t hurt you.”
I leaned on his shoulder.
After a few minutes, I started getting tired.
I closed my eyes, picturing Edward and me kissing.
Than I fell asleep.

My eyes flew open, and I was in a forest.
I stood up, and saw Edward.
He looked just as beautiful in person.
I smiled at him.
He smiled back at me.
Then his eyes turned bright red, and his teeth became pointy.
He held out his hand for me.
My smiled grew bigger.
I started walking to him, not afraid.
I grabbed his hand, and he pulled me closer.
“I love you Bella.” He told me.
He bent down and kissed me.
I kissed him back.
After a minute or so, he started getting aggressive.
I pulled away and saw James.
He smirked evilly at me.
The next second, he was sucking my blood.
I screamed.
My eyes flew open, and I saw Edward in my face.
I touched his face, his body, trying to calm myself down.
He stroked my cheek.
“Are you alright?” He asked me.
I sighed.
“Edward, can I ask you something?”
He nodded his head.
I stood up, and a blanket fell to the ground.
Why is the blanket there? And how did it get there?
“How did that get there?” I asked him.
“Your father brought it out” He told me.
I nodded my head.
It was cold out.
I grabbed the blanket and wrapped it around myself.
Then I grabbed Edward’s hand and pulled him into the forest.
No one is going to hear out here. And beside, we’re right at the trail, we won’t get lost. And even if we did I'm positive Edward could get us out.
I stopped when we were far enough away.
I turned to him.
“I know what you are” I said to him.
He started at me in shock.
“Are you.....” I stopped, not wanting to say it. But i had to! “A vampire?”
I stopped breathing.
It was quiet for a few seconds.
“Are you afraid?” He asked me.
It was quiet again.
“No.” I finally answered.
“Why?” he asked.
“I trust you.” I told him.
He started walking around in circles.
“Don’t!” he yelled.
I was frozen in the spot.
“I'm the worlds most dangerous predator.” He told me.
“I don't care” I said honestly.
“I want to kill you. I’ve never wanted a humans blood before.”
Why was he making this so difficult? I don’t care if hes a vampire. He wants to suck my blood, well why hasn't he done it yet? And if James was a vampire, which i was certain he was, why didn’t he suck my blood 5 years ago!? Instead haunt my life and everyone in it!
“Was James a vampire too?” i whispered low.
It was quiet again.
“Yes.” He finally answered.
“Why didn’t he just suck my blood and save me all this trouble?” I yelled.
“He did.” Edward said calmly.
I froze.
“H-he did?” I asked scared.
He nodded his head.
Tears started falling down my face.
“Why am I not dead than?” I said angry.
“I couldn't of let you die.Carlisle and I saved you.” He spoke no loader than a whisper.
It was quiet.
“Edward, I’m not afraid of you.” I told him. “I’m only afraid of losing you.”
He pulled me into a hug.
“Bella, I will never leave you ever.” he spoke load and clear.
I sighed.
I pressed myself harder against him.
We stood like this for a while, until he pulled away.
“We should be getting back.”
I nodded.
I took his hand, and we headed out of the forest.

I'm on the plane going to Phoenix.
As much as I hated to be away from Edward, I needed to get out! Forks was giving me nightmares. I couldn't get over the fact that I was kidnapped! And to top it off, by a vampire.
I said my goodbyes to everyone, but the Cullen's.
I couldn't face them! I just couldn't! Alice says were going to be great friends, which i believe because she can tell the future. Edward, is like my best friend, but I love him. It was to quick! It was like love at first sight! I guess since hes been in my dreams every single night, for the past.... 16 years that It wasn't. Ive grown to love him. Everyday I would dream of him and me.
I feel bad for not saying goodbye to them. They are going to freak out when Charlie tells them I moved back with my Mom! I just couldn’t stand to be in the same place I was kidnapped!
Edward has my phone number, so we can talk all the time!
I looked at my phone, it said it was 1:32AM
I yawned.
I was a little tired, maybe I could sleep for a bit?
With that said, I shut my eyes and thought of Edward.
And soon I fell asleep.
