CHAPTER 1
It’s almost the end of semestral break and most college students are still enjoying some happy-go-lucky times with their friends but for Yuri, instead of going out with friends, she’s moving her things in her new dorm at a new university
Yuri, a 19-year old simple, sometimes dorky but beautiful Filipino-Japanese girl, decided to move to another university after having some troubles at St. Jude’s University, her former university . Not that she got in trouble or had failing marks at her old college, her troubles are more of the sensitive, personal kind and being in that university just makes it more difficult to cope with. She decided to transfer to Danford University
Yuri enters her new dorm carrying a box full of her stuff, with her Dad following her, carrying a bigger box
“Thanks for helping me move here dad” Yuri said as she put down the box
“No problem Yul” Tony answered as she looked around the room, “This place looks nice”
Yuri nodded and pulled out the receipts from her pocket and handed it to her father, “I already paid the dorm in advance”
“Yul, you don’t have to give me the receipts every time you spend money. I know you handle money well” he said “and didn’t I tell you to ask money from me to pay for your dorm, you can just use the money you’ve save for your future house”
“It’s best to know how much we spend and you know how I don’t like to ask money from you, that’s why I started saving at an early age” Yuri smiled slightly
Yuri had already realized the value of money as early as 7 years old, and from then on, she started saving and is still saving this very day, that’s she has a huge savings account, enough for her to pay her dorm
“Still, you call me if you need something and I’ll rush here as soon as possible, okay Yul?” Tony said and gave her daughter a hug
“Yes Dad” Yuri answered, “Now, I think you better go ahead before it gets too dark” she continued, “I’ll call you and Yumi often” and gave her father a kiss on the cheek
So Tony said goodbye to her daughter and left

Entering the life of another girl, this time it’s about Natasha. A beautiful, popular with both males and females, Korean-American party girl
“So you’re definitely going tonight right?” Amber asked her best friend Tasha
“Of course I am! You know I don’t miss any kind of parties, that’s like a life rule for me” Tasha answered confidently while painting her fingernails
“Then I’ll see you tonight Tasha!”
“Okay! see you later girl!”
The call ended and Tasha continued painting her nails
“Hmm..what should I wear later?”
Tasha stood and opened her closet, looking for the perfect outfit to wear tonight
As Tasha picked the clothes she’ll be wearing, she heard her phone ringing so Tasha quickly picked it up and answered
“Hello?”
“Tasha? Have you been well?” said the mature female voice from the other line
Tasha sighed, “Yes mom, I’m fine, you don’t have to call me every day you know. I can take care of myself”
“I know that, I’m just worried especially wi-”
“I know, can we not talk about that mom? It’s just stressing me out” Tasha spoke and sat on her bed “I know how worried you are but trust me, I can do well on my own and I’m smart enough to call for help if something happens so don’t worry okay?”
Tasha heard her mother’s worried sigh, “Okay, just call often and don’t stress yourself“
“Yeah, I’ll call you sometime again, bye mom!”
Tasha hung up, “it’s party time! Don’t want to keep the guys and girls waiting!”, then she went and got dressed

Meanwhile, Yuri started arranging her stuff in her room and after an hour of cleaning, Yuri had finally put everything into place
“This room’s really nice I just hope my neighbors are the same” Yuri then looked at her watch, 7 pm
“Still early, maybe I should walk and check out the places around here” so Yuri got her jacket and her room key and went out the room
As soon as she stepped out, her attention was caught by a girl with long-dark brown hair in a one-piece mini dress and heels, just 2 doors from her room
Some girls just doesn’t know how to dress nicely, Yuri thought, she scoffed lightly and started to walk, since the stairway was on the opposite side of the hallway, she had to walk pass by the girl in the mini dress
She’s definitely the type of girl I wouldn’t want to be friends with so there’s no point in trying to be friendly with her
So Yuri took out her iPod and placed the earphones in her ears. Yuri has always used music to escape from the things or people she just doesn’t care about
So without a single word, she passed the girl and left

Tasha was locking her room when she noticed an unfamiliar face looking at her
What she looking at? Such a nerdy looking girl, Tasha thought. At first glance, Tasha already felt that she wouldn’t get along with this new person. With her long, straight black hair and her simple outfit, this girl would definitely be an outcast in her world but still, that doesn’t mean she can’t be nice to her
Tasha saw the girl walking towards her, so she was preparing to smile and greet her, but before she could do anything, the new girl quickly passed by her like air passing through the leaves of a tree during spring time
“Did she just ignore me?” Tasha scoffed “so rude, I don’t like her anyway”
Tasha then left and went to the night’s” biggest campus party” at one of her girl friend’s rented house within the campus

“So far so good, I think I’ll like this university” Yuri said as she walked and looked around. Yuri never really toured Danford University, she just enrolled on impulse as this university is the 2nd most known university in the country
“Huh, They even have gazebos here” Yuri went to the gazebo to take a minute break as she had walked around for over an hour now
“The university’s good, I just hope the people here are good too, guess I’ll find that out next week when classes start”
After spending another hour in the gazebo, Yuri decided to head back. As she walked back to her dorm building, she heard music blasting from a house just a block away. Out of curiosity, she decided to pass by the house just to see what’s going on
There, unexpectedly, she saw the girl from earlier, drunk and dancing between a guy and a girl. It seemed that two more drinks and she’ll be probably making out with either one of them
She’s out of control, somebody should stop her, Yuri thought to herself and then shrugged and started walking
On the way back, her thoughts went back to the time she got drunk herself. But unlike that girl, she had someone there to stop her. At that time, being bullied was extremely terrible, so Yuri thought that if she acted “cool”, the bullying will lessen and maybe even stop but this caused her to join in with people with bad influences
“Stop drinking Yuri! You’re not like this, don’t give in to peer pressure!” Kaley said as she pulled Yuri away from her so-called “friends” in a busy crowd of dancing people. During this time, Kaley and Yuri are very close friends but are enrolled in separate schools, Kaley didn’t experience the bullying but she knows everything and has been urging Yuri to get help but Yuri decided to solve it in her own way
“Would you chill and let me have some fun Kaley? It’s my life not yours!” Yuri yelled, some words already muffled, as she took another drink
“You want to fit in, I get it, but you don’t need to lose yourself just because of that” Kaley reasoned
“Fuck! Can you just leave me alone!? I’m not some desperate dog in need of training and why are you butting-in in my social life anyway?” Yuri smirked and stared at Kaley right in the face, “You want me to make-out with you, don’t you?”
Feeling offended, Kaley reacted by slapping Yuri’s face, “I was so wrong in coming here and trying to get you away from your “friends” who did nothing but drink and smoke and fuck anything that breathes!. If you want to end up looking like garbage, then fine! Do it! I’m done helping.” And Kaley walked out of the bar as Yuri watched with open eyes
That slap in the face was literally what Yuri needed in order to snap her out of it. And from then on, Yuri never got drunk again
Yuri smiled as she arrived at her dorm building. You don’t know how much change you made in my life Kaley, I can’t even imagine my future life because I know that you’re not part of it anymore.
Yuri sighed heavily, entered her room and quickly laid on the bed

It’s already passed midnight and Yuri is still wide awake, it’s a new environment so Yuri is still getting used in sleeping in this room. She was about to close her eyes when she heard loud laughter outside. Yuri stood and opened her door to see who was out there.
It’s her, Yuri thought as she looked at the party girl from earlier, drunk and can’t even walk straight, with guy who is not even allowed to be here during this hour
“I should go call someone” but instead of getting her phone, Yuri stayed still and continued to look at them subtly
The guy is just planting kisses on her everywhere, just as she weakly pushed him away. A few whispers more and the guy decided to leave. The girl, on the other hand, is too drunk to even enter her room. At least she managed to put the key on the door
Yuri sighed, “I should go help her” she said, filled with doubt
Yuri stared for a few more seconds and decided to help so Yuri wore her slippers and stepped out of her room. She went to the drunken girl, who is now on the floor and leaning on the door, her dark brown hair shriveled and covering half of her face
Yuri slowly pulled the girl up and put the girl’s arm on her shoulder, opened the door and turned on the lights
“Man, she reeks!” Yuri exclaimed as she slowly walked near the bed, she then gently placed the drunken girl on the bed
As Yuri covered the drunken girl with a blanket, she looked at Yuri with half-opened eyes, “…h-ey..hoo are you?...you have really REALLY pretty eyes” she chuckled as she spoke
“I’m no one, you are dreaming so go back to sleep” Yuri answered while waving her hand in front of the girl, as if hypnotizing her
The girl nodded, stared lazily at her for a few seconds before suddenly pulling Yuri and quickly kissing her lips, “..that’s a thank for elpin’ me..”
Yuri pulled away in disgust then quickly left the room
“…so Angels does exist…” Tasha smiled before completely dozing off
