Pulling myself from the hug, my gaze moved towards him. I could definitely hear his heart beat pounding against his chest. So did mine. The beating of our hearts was really much audible. It made me feel nervous.
He shifted a bit of himself towards me.
he cleared his throat before speaking..
"So, you also feel the same right?"
I shook my head as No while observing his eyes widened.
"Yo- You don't Kathy?"
He said with a low tone. My lips spread across forming a mischievous smile on my face.
"Haha the look on your face." I said while almost guffawing out!"You totally got me." He said while narrowing his eyes. But instead I laughed at him.
You- Without wasting any second he leaned forward towards me. His eyes interlock with mine. And again I could feel my heart beating expeditiously.
But this time a wave of nervousness was surrounding me. This was new, me getting nervous around him was new. His hands made their ways to my face while putting the strand of hair behind my ears which was blocking his view.
"You're beautiful." "Everything about you is beautiful, Kathy."
He said while his eyes gaze down at my lips. Again the wave of nervousness roses all over me.
What are you doing to me? Virtually eyeing over. I took a deep breath.
"God, I have been wanting to do this since forever." He said before leaning over me by keeping his cold yet beautiful long hands around my neck.
Now I could feel him coming closer to me, and the nervousness around me speeded. I could feel his hot breath hitting all over my face.
Now our lips were touching almost. I could almost feel or taste his scent. His eyes looked at me.
"May I?" He said being a gentleman.
That's what I love about him.
I closed my eyes, giving him a sign to take my first kiss, including me.
His lips attached to mine. Moving smoothly all over me, yet he was gentle until the situation took a flip. And I completely engrossed myself in the kiss with him.
All we knew was we both wanted this for so long and now we can't stop it. We can't hold on to our desires.
Slowly I ran out of breath, but I didn't want to stop him kissing me. Neither did he. But when we heard footsteps approaching us. Eventually we had to detach.With panting hardly I looked at him, I could see him smiling looking at him my lips spread across forming a huge smile.
"I guess you're mine now!" I said when he chucked, "you got it wrong!"
"I gave myself to you already when you first laid these pretty eyes on me."
He said while my cheeks turned all crimson.
Suddenly I heard the knock on the door. "Next time we're gonna make out somewhere really private." He blurted out instantly as I stood up from the bed.
"Ahem, So Mr Ryan you can discharge" I said trying to control myself from blushing.....

It's been a week since we are dating and Every time I think about that inedible moment with Ryan, everything around me just feels special and my heart jumps in joyness.
"Kathy"!!Hearing my name being called out I snapped out of my thoughts. "What is it?" "You."
"What's wrong with you?" "I have been calling your name for a minute." "Sorry, now tell me what were you saying?" "It's almost time to leave?" She said as my hands immediately slipped down under my coat pocket.
To see my phone. To see 27+ texts and missed calls. My phone was silent. Shoot! I said while immediately placing a call to Ryan.
"Whom are you calling?" "Wait a sec Megan."
I said while waiting for Ryan to pick up the call. I tried once and twice......
"I guess he is busy." I said while keeping my phone back inside my coat pocket. "So, Mr Carter is busy with his work?" Megan said as I nodded. "Could be."
"Anyways, where are we going for dinner?" I said when Megan raised her eyebrows. "Dinner? She said bewilderedly.
"Yeah aren't we supposed to eat?"
"You really"- she said while pausing in between. "What were you saying?" "Complete it!!" "Am I forgetting something?" I said, trying to defend myself. She didn't utter anything which led me to deep thinking in my subconscious mind.
"Okay I really can't remember"-
"DINNER AT MY HOUSE?" "Remember-
"we both are going to cook and Dr Elena is also invited."She blurted out as I smiled. "Yesss obviously I remember." I lied knowing well if I spill the truth what could occur.
"Okay then, where is the shopping list?" "The grocery I asked you to get." "Did you buy them before coming to work?" She said as a nervous laugh escaped my mouth as I shook my head as NO.
"God I'm going to kill you."
She said while standing up from the chair and was about to approach me. When we heard a knock on the door.
It was Dr. Elena, "shall we leave?" "I'm really hungry today, what are we cooking tonight?"
She said as I looked at Megan and inaudibly uttered
"We are doomed!"
After an hour,
"Thank you so much, you really did save us." I said while cutting the call. "Who was it?" Megan said standing behind me I turned around and looked at her.
She was still infuriated by what I did earlier. "Your husband. I was talking to him." "And look as I asked him, he helped deliver the food before we arrived at your place." I said hoping her anger would melt down.
"Come on, Megan, don't be still pissed!" I said while keeping my hand on her. But instead she shrugged it off. "And then you made that bitch tagged along with us." "You know I don't like her" She said while glaring at Elizabeth.
"Ahh she is a newbie of course I need to spend more time with her in order to guide her." "And on top she is a slow learner." I uttered while lowering my voice.
"Trust me it was necessary to invite her here." "At least she will understand her work right?"
I said as Megan passed a small smile.
"Any text from Ryan?" She said while taking plates from the upper cabinet. "Yup, he has an important meeting." I said while walking towards her and helping with the plates. "Anyways"...
"Dr. Elena, Ms Elizabeth food is ready"........
After 3 hours......
"O- okay, so that's it!" "I feel exhausted" I said while standing up on my feet. Though my legs were trembling.
"But a last shot won't harm me."
I said and was about to reach the last glass of tequila. Before I could I observed someone hands on it already.
"You- Elizabeth!" I called her name while grinding my teeth. "How dare you"- I said before laying my drunken body on the couch.
"Kathy can knock herself out with just 2 glasses of tequilas."
Megan said which made Elena chortle. "Anyways before the drink gets high on me." "I have to leave." "My husband is here." She said while standing up from the couch. And closing the laptops and files.
I watched completely depart from the living room to the way out and Megan walked along with her to see her off. I sighed while glancing at Elizabeth who was using her phone. She has this huge smile while being on her phone.
"Who is it?" I said while getting down from the couch and walking over to her while trying to pry on her phone. "It's my boyfriend." He is asking me whether I ate my dinner or not. a low smile formed on my face.
"He is really caring,"
I said while standing up from my place. I took my bag and files. "Are you leaving?" Elizabeth said while turning I nodded my head and bid goodbye to her.
Walking towards the exit door. Trying to wear my shoes but my legs trembled leading me to almost lose my balance. "Fuck"- I said leering at the files which fell from my hands.
"Let me help you." A familiar voice catched my attention. The person bent down to help me pick the files. As I lifted my head above to look at the person.
"How was your day, My love?"
"Ryan"...... I spouted his name out. Before speedily jumping around his arm for a tight hug.
"I missed you Ray".......
"Yeah I have reached".... I said while cutting the line.
My eyes stuck around her. There she is struggling with her shoes. Her drunken body trembled, leading her files to fall apart.
There was a frustrated look on her face which made me smile. After a long day I had finally smiled just because of the presence of my girlfriend. I walked towards her, "let me help you." I said and bent down to pick her files.
Her gaze met mine. She didn't hold herself back and instantly walked over me. While caging me around her tiny arms.
All the weariness faded away just by being around her embrace. She took the tiredness away.
After a while.......
"Will you even speak to me??" "You've been ignoring everything I asked you." Kathy said while furiously folding her hands across her chest. As I observed her she was looking out of the window.
"And now you're looking at me." She said while turning her head back at me. "At least you don't wanna talk to me, don't but stop staring at me." She said as a smile creeped out by the ends of my lips.
"I'm not staring at you, I am admiring my girlfriend." "And I'm not ignoring you, it's just that getting drunk is rare and when you get drunk you speak a lot and I enjoy hearing you."
I said while turning my head at her. Her cheeks started to turn red.
"How adorable can you get?" I said when she turned her face to the other side. Leaving my chortling on her behaviour.
Soon we reached her place. Parking the car in front of her house I glanced at her. She was already asleep. After babbling about the world to me. She is all quited asleep. I removed my seat belt. And walked the other side.
Taking the keys from her bag first I had to unlock the door of her house. Since kaira must be asleep I didn't want to disturb her. I returned back to the car and kept my hand behind her back, while gently lifting her up.
With slow and heedful steps I walked towards the entrance. She suddenly snuggled her face while coming closer to my chest. Leading me to have a million butterflies. I tried to control my emotions.
While gently pushing the door from my leg. I walked over to her bedroom. My eyes roamed around her. The decor was similar to her older room in California. She hasn't changed at all.
Walking near the bed, I meticulously laid her on the bed. As I removed her laboratory coat. And her heels while I kept her footwear beside the night stand. Eyeing at her sleeping figure I couldn't help but kiss her forehead. "I love you Kathy." I said and gently placed a duvet upon her.
Before exiting, I had to switch on the air conditioner for her. My hands made their way towards the doorknob. A part of me didn't want to leave this room or her.
It's not so cruel to sleep with your girlfriend?
I let my intrusive thoughts win. My hands slipped down from the doorknob and as I turned around with slow steps I walked to the other side of the bed.
Quietly I laid on the bed and slipped myself inside the duvet. I turned around just to find her face close to mine. A sudden wave of panic arose in my body. Being extremely close to her. I couldn't see her face properly, only the light lamp was helping to be a bit visible.
Without hesitating further I kept my hand around her, while admiring her. Over the minutes I watched all the adorable actions of her turning the sides. And throughout this my eyes were opened just for her. Will I even be able to sleep tonight? I said to myself while emotionlessly admiring my girlfriend. I'm definitely not gonna sleep tonight.
.....
I had Squirmed on the bed due to discomfort. While scrunching my face I turned to the other side escaping the sunlight. Extending my hand to the other side I was hoping to be here. It was all empty. Instantly opening my eyes I looked all over the room. Maybe she must have woken up.
Getting down from the bed I yawned... My gaze shifted at the wall clock. Damn it's earlier and she woke up so soon? I proceeded my way out of the room. "Kathy, my love?" I started to call out her name. Until I heard her voice..
"What's wrong with you kaira?"
She said while raising her voice. Reaching near the living room I spotted both the sisters. "What happened?" I questioned looking at Kathy who seemed to be angry at kaira.
"Ask her?" "Where was she throughout the night?" She said as I looked at kaira. She was totally dressed up. "Where were you, kaira?" I said in a low tone.
"I was out, in a bar."
"Why the hell did you spend the whole night there?" Kathy said, almost howling out at her. I wanted some time for myself "okay?" "And I'm not a kid." She said while stomping on Kathy before abruptly walking towards her room.
Kathy emotionlessly observed her actions. "With this attitude I'm not letting you go out!" "You're grounded for 2 weeks now!" She said, while sighing and looking at kaira's bedroom.
"Calm down Kathy" "Sit on the couch, I will get you water."
I said while making her sit on the couch and walking towards the kitchen. While coming back towards her I gave her the glass and sat next to her. "What's wrong with her?"
"She doesn't act reckless?"
"Did anything happen between her and Jayce?" She said while looking at me. "I don't think so, Jayce is out of town for some paperwork." "If anything did happen then let me talk to Jayce."
"Don't worry she is going to be alright." I said when she passed me a low smile.
After 2 days,
"Is everything okay there?".....
"kaira?" He called my name a little louder. Leading me to snap out of my thoughts. "Yes?"
"You seem to be preoccupied?" "What is it?" I shook my head. N- no nothing is there.
"Hmm, I asked, is everything okay there?" "Yup." I nodded. "No you don't look good? Are you really good?" Jayce said When suddenly Kathy came in between and interrupted.. "Now I know why she is feeling dull."
"Mr. Jayce, your girlfriend is missing you. This is why she has been all sad and dull." Kathy said while gazing at the video camera which led Jayce to smile. "Is that so?"
I just passed a smile. "Anyways I'm done with this legal work so I might be coming in 3 days." Hearing Jayce, a part of me should be happy but all I felt was emotionless.
"Jayce, I will talk to you later." I said as he bidded me a goodbye. "Take care and love you!" He said as I instantly shut down the laptop.
"I thought talking to Jayce will help you lift your mood." "Look I am happy " I said and formed a rictus smile on my face. I stood up from the couch and decided to head to my bed. "I'm going to take a shower." I said and proceeded to walk further.
"By the way, I have made fruit pudding." "What should I add on yours, strawberries or Nutella or do you want both?" She said as I instantly replied
"None, I don't wanna eat anything." I said and walked inside my bedroom.
My eyes gazed around the room. I could see the curtains were enclosed including the window. Instantly walking near the window I closed the window and shut the curtains as a loud sigh escaped my mouth.
"Hello sweetheart", a familiar voice detected by my ears. Instantly leading me to turn around. A wave of trepidation arose all over my body as I encountered the sight in front of me.
"You- sh- should be here?" I nervously spoke as he proceeded his way towards me standing right in front of me. "But I missed you sweetheart." He said while his hands made their way towards my cheeks caressing them.
"Please you have to leave my sister and my dad, they're downstairs."
"Too sacred to be caught?" He said as I nervously looked at him.
Okay something is really suspicious with Kaira!! Also i thought of extending the book a bit, The new plot will be seen in the next chapter. y'all get ready 🤭
