The letter arrived during breakfast with the Weasleys. Molly Weasley had prepared pancakes and everyone was munching contentedly with quiet morning whispers and promises to sleep after breakfast when Kreacher made his presence known with a squeak.

The sudden appearance of the House Elf shocked everyone, especially Sirius, considering he was given a letter, though, it did look more like an ugly page that was hurriedly torn out from a notebook.

Sirius immediately ushered the Elf out of the room and disappeared down the corridor. And with his disappearance a moment of silence befell the members sitting at the table.

"Reckon the letters about?" Ron asked Harry quietly. Harry knew exactly what the letter was about, it was about his parents and Merlin, did he hope nothing bad exactly happened to them.

"I don't know, maybe some Dumbledore stuff." Harry answered lying impassively while matching Ron's tone, he tried to keep an unfazed façade but was failing miserably. His gut coiled and churned and anxiety bloomed in his stomach like rose bushes, prickling his insides painfully with every micro-movement.

Sirius bounded into the room a few seconds later excitedly calling Remus and disappearing back again with the werewolf in tow. What was going on?

They hadn't returned for the remainder of breakfast and the uneasiness Harry felt grew more and more. Their plates were carried out by Mrs. Weasley and placed on a small coffee table outside the room, 'I guess they'd better off eat together, better something than nothing.' Molly sniffed as she cleared the table.

Fred and George dragged Ron off to test out their new products and attempted to drag Harry too but, Harry seemed to be rotted in his seat.

"Harry, mate, whatever Sirius was called in for must be good news! I mean did you see his expression!" Fred tried to cheer him up. It worked a little, Harry did join them in their testing and their fun but his mind kept straying to that little letter. And it's contents.

It was nearing lunchtime when Harry was dragged off by Remus and into their bedroom where Sirius was sitting on the bed who was dangling his legs of the side of the bed like a little schoolboy.

"Is it about the letter?" Harry asked the two men the second the door shut behind Remus. Sirius' grin grew impossibly bigger at his question. The man rummaged through his pockets and pulled the crumpled piece of parchment out and held it to Harry as if it were a tasty piece of candy.

Harry eyes grew wide at the letter. How can one sentence make his heart flutter so high it might as well reach the heavens. This moment alone can fuel a hundred Patronuses. The letter was barely even a letter at all. Just a scrap containing the most beautiful words Harry could ever hear.

They have awoken.

August 13th was the best day to ever happen ever. And if Harry left the room looking like he just ascended to Cloud 9 no one said anything. It was better for him to be happy now because things were looking bleaker with every passing second.

---
Harry eagerly awaited for evening to arrive, Dumbledore had given the three of them permission permission go to 'London' for an outing. They wouldn't be back until after dinner, Harry knew that much. The rose bushes in his stomach turned into butterflies as he counted the seconds until their departure.

"Harry, what's got you smiling like that?" Ginny asked as she and her brothers played a round of Exploding Snap. Harry just shrugged while laying his cards down.

"Must be real good news, mate!" Ron nudged him excitedly as he placed his cards in order. Harry's smile grew impossibly wider. It was, it was the best news ever!

They played round after round and Harry couldn't only half pay attention to whatever he was doing because he was too busy imagining every situation he can make up in his head. Everything he'd say and everything he'd ask. It was all ready and memorized as if it were a script waiting to be played.

The clock ticked the seconds away and evening descended on them soon. Harry was basically vibrating in his seat as the six o' clock neared.

"Harry calm down! I get that you're excited to fo to London but I didn't think you'd be this excited." Fred exclai, exclaimed, as he wrapped a arm around his shoulder. Harry turned red in embarrassment and his jaw hurt from smiling but how could he not? It was too perfect, too good! Too close... Sooner or later he would hear the familiar call of Moony, shouting from the bottom most step signalling to him that irs about time they-

"Harry! How much longer! The clock's ticking!" Harry scrambled from Fred's side embrace, yelled goodbye and stumbled down the stairs into Remus.

"Calm down cub, let's go! We are all excited here that doesn't ,mean you need a bruised and bloody nose when you meet them." Harry just waved Remus' comment off and asked where Sirius had disappeared off too instead.

"Narcissa called him off off the house, he is waiting for us there." Remus spoke in a low tone as they shuffles their way into the fireplace.

---

Harry landed with a thud as he entered the drawing room of the cheery cottage. Sirius and Mrs. Malfoy seemed to be in a deep discussion when they made their entrance known.

"Harry!" Sirius yelled joyfully as he bounded over to his godson and patted his fervently. Harry didn't mind, how could he? His excitement was over the moon.

"Your parents, they are waiting for you Harry, I think they are just excited as you are." Said Mrs. Malfoy calmly but there was a soft twinkle of mirth in her eyes. Harry couldn't help but notice her disposition. She looked weary, slow and tired yet her smile was still bright. Brighter than ever to say the least.

"Where are the others? Surely they wouldn't want to miss such a momentous occasion?" Remus asked looking around the room and noticing the lack of crew.

"They were here, they went back home though, Merlin knows they are tired out of their minds, there were a few complications with their magic last night so they stayed up all night and watched them, I went home before them because they have told me they will lok after the Potter's, my biggest regret,I suppose, was my not being there when their eyes opened." Harry's heart whirred with a mixture of feelings at Mrs. Malfoy's statement.

But he held himself together, for his parents he supposed, but he knew, the closer he got to meeting them, the more anxious he felt.

"Harry, I think you should go first, you are the person they are most curious to meet." Harry just looked at Sirius curiously.

"You... you haven't talked to them yet?" Harry asked sincerely as he wa,ked towards the staircase. His heart was pounding, he could feel the sweat forming at the corners of his head.

"Not yet Bambi, I thought it would be best for you to meet them first." Harry couldn't bring himself to reply to that yet. His mouth suddenly felt dry, and his glasses seemed vaguely foggy, was it normal to feel dizzy right now. Was he dehydrated, or just, nervous.

Harry let out a soft sigh and turned back to see his two godfathers nodding encouragingly and Mrs. Malfoy smiling softly. She really was nothing like her family, it's a shame she married that bastard and gave birth to more bastard spawn. She didn't deserve them.

Harry quietly stepped up the staircase, his heart pounding on rhythm with each footfall. All the situations he imagined himself in before seemed to fall away leaving nothing but a bubble of anxiety and wretched feeling of horror, what if they didn't like me?

The prickly rose bushes were back and the thorns travelled up and pricked his throat raw. Harry wondered if he could even speak a coherent sentence.

He stood jnfront of the door at the far end of the hallway, the one in which his parents resided. He couldnt hear anything from the other side, were they awake? A full body shiver coursed through him and he felt all his nerve endings tingle weirdly, his magic felt like electricity surrounding and he never felt such unadulterated fear before, this type of fear was not the one you get when your life is in danger, or when you are watching something scary, it was purely irrational. And this feeling was horrifying.

His hand shook as he turned the knob to the room, he didn't even notice the tremors wracking his body. He shouldered the door open and stood at the entrance.

His parents. They were sitting across from him, on his father's bed, they were so close. They were dressed in soft white cotton clothes and their sort-of long hair was pinned back. It must've been a long time since they cut it.

They didn't look like the day when he and his godfathers rescued him. No, not at all, they looked healthy and happy and so, so alive. Their skin was a healthy shade of peach and tan, their eyes sone with barely hidden delight and it took everything in him to not collapse onto the ground and walk like the child he was.

If he were to stand in front of Mirror of Erised now. He dreamed of this moment for ages and now, his life-desiring wish came true and...he had no idea what to do now-

The three Potters could only stare at each other in silence. It went on for a few seconds before Harry all but flung himself towards them and hugged them as of his life depended on it. It did.

"You're alive!" He yelled, and all he could hear in his hoarse voice was happiness. Utter happiness.

"So are you!" His mother exclaimed with just as much of enthusiasm.

"Sit here Harry. Tell us, exactly what we missed." His father spoke softly patting a place next to him which Harry had occupied without a care in the world. He launched into a detailed summary of everything that went down in his years, starting with his First Year,

"Voldemort... he really did that?" Harry was shocked to hear his parents speak his name sjust as carelessly as him. Then his Second year,

"My God, a basilisk!"

"The diary, where is it now?'" Harry found it a little odd how they seemed to curious in something so trivial, but he just chalked it up to Gryffindor curiosity. He even described the nasty encountered with Ferret Sr., he couldn't help but chuckle at the nasty face his father pulled at that.

Then came his Third Year,

"That's a rather dramatic way to meet them." His mother exclaimed through laughter.

"Don't know, seems pretty on par for them." His father commented. Harry's cheeks hurt from smiling so hard.

Lastly his Fourth year,

His father only whistled after Hary finished with his story.

"You, Harry, are the most impressive person I have ever met and I can't tell you how proud we are to be your parents, it's a shame we weren't around for it all." His father spoke with sincerity.

"So, Harry, if you weren't with Sirius or Remus all these years, who were you living with it?" His mother asked. Harry turned away from them, his eyes darkened considerably. He'd been wanting to avoid ths topic for so long. The Dursleys. The most wretched beings to ever exist. He didn't want to talk about them, he didn't know how they'd react. Would they defend those awful humans? He knew that Petunia was a piece of work but what did they truly know about them?

But a cruel part of himself wanted to spill it all, let them handle it all, get revenge. It was as if the devil on his shoulder was screaming at him telling him this was his chance. And so did. All of it. The cupboard, the starvation, the beatings, the hiding and the bullying.

Harry made sure he didn't miss anything and by the time he was done tears had long since formed in his eyes. The tremors started again. A long, dark silence enveloped them. He didn't dare lift his head up. What if they thought he was a freak too? What if they agreed with the Dursleys? What if... what if...

"Harry." His mom called out for him. Harry didn't dare meet their eyes. "Harry." She called again, more fiercely. "Look at me." Harry met her eyes. They were a mirror image of his. So beautiful, so green, so... angry. Her entire being was like a woman who just burned her hometown down. Her hair looked like a halo of fire, she was... his mother.

"You don't ever have to worry about them ever again, you understand me." Her voice was so strong yet so caring. He dreamed of this moment of this for years. An escape. He found his release.

"Mom, dad." He whispered so softly. His voice was barely audible but he was so euphoric. How can he not be? His floodgates couldn't hold on any longer. If they thought he was a child so be it, because he was, he was their child. And they knew that, and he knew, that they loved him even still.

"You don't know how long we've dreamed of this." His father whispered into Harry's embrace.

"Me too." He murmered back. I love you...
