Hey. Are you okay?
Ginny stops fiddling with her powered-off phone sitting on her lap. Averts her deep gaze from the view outside to Santi beside her.
She stares at him blankly.
GINNY
(arching a brow)
Hmm...?
Santi blinks at her expression.
SANTI
(almost a whisper)
Hinaan... ko aircon? Gusto mo?
Ginny gives him a tight-lipped smile.
GINNY
(faking a smiling)
No, it's okay. I'm fine.
SANTI
You're sure?
GINNY
Yup.
SANTI
You need a drink? Stopover muna tayo sa nearby convenience store.
GINNY
I'm... fine.
GINNY
Just drive, Santi. Mamaya mahuli na tayo sa birthday ni Tita.
SANTI
It's okay. Saglit lang naman if ever. It's a bit traffic pa around Ortigas.
Santi gives Ginny a quick stare when she lets her eyes dart again on the road before them.
SANTI
(softly)
Ako na bahala. What do you want?
SANTI
Food?

You want those milk in cartons—
GINNY
Santiago.
Silence.
Santi blinks twice at her this time.
He swallows.
Ginny stares blankly at him.
She heaves a sigh.
GINNY
(smiling a bit)
I told you. I'm alright.
GINNY
