(AN: Kate's outfit)

Kate looked at herself in the mirror. She debated if the outfit she chose would be too much for the drive-in theater. The nights started to get colder which indicated that autumn will be starting soon. She can't even remember the last time she wore a leather jacket. She decided that dark jeans and a black shirt would go well with the leather jacket. Her dad came over an hour ago to get Ava. She would stay over at their house until the next afternoon. When Kate explained to Ava that she and Jax would be going on another date, Ava got excited. She said to Kate that Mr.Teller better be keeping his pinkie promise about being nice. Kate reassured Ava that Mr.Teller is absolutely keeping his pinkie promise.

Kate heard the doorbell ring. She grabbed her purse and the two bags which contained blankets and pillows. She opened the door and saw Jax standing there with a smile on his face, but his facial expression quickly changed to one of surprise when he saw Kate's outfit. He thought she looked very sexy with the leather jacket. He was quiet and Kate thought maybe there's something wrong with her outfit. "Maybe I need to change the outfit." She said.

Jax snapped out of his trance. "No." He quickly replied. "I'm sorry if I confused you. I've never seen you wear a leather jacket. I was just surprised. You look very nice."

Kate smiled at Jax. "Thank you, Jax. You look very nice too." She complimented him. Jax is wearing dark blue jeans, a white shirt, and a plain black jacket.

"So, can I take the bags?" Jax asked. "I'm guessing the blankets are in there?" He pointed to the bags.

"Yes and you may." Kate handed the bags to him. She closed the front door and locked it. Jax put the bags inside the truck and opened the passenger door for Kate. "Well, you're such a gentleman." She playfully said.

"I'm trying, darling." Jax chuckled.

"You don't have to try. You're already a gentleman." Kate said.

Jax turned on the ignition and backed out of the driveway. He got on the street and started driving. "Do you want me to enter the address on my phone so you can get directions?" She asked.

"I think I remember the address, but enter it just in case." Jax replied.

Kate took out her cell phone and typed the address for the drive in theater. She selected the address and the automated voice indicated the destination is thirty minutes away. "So, your biggest fan has another question for you." She casually mentioned.

"Oh, yeah? What does she want to know?" Jax couldn't help but smile. Ava is a unique three year old with a curious mind.

"She wanted to know if you're still keeping your pinkie promise." Kate replied to his question.

"Wow, Allison was correct about Ava looking out for you." Jax mentioned. "She's your protector. When you see Ava, you tell her that pinkie promise will always be kept."

"I'll be sure to pass on the message to her." Kate said.

Jax pulled into the parking lot for the drive-in theater. Kate happened to notice the billboard which included the titles for the double feature presentation. The two movies are 10 Things I Hate About You and My Cousin Vinny. He paid the admission rate and continued driving until he found a parking spot. He parked the truck and shut off the engine. Kate is quiet and he turned his head to the side. "Why are you so quiet?" He asked.

"10 Things I Hate About You and My Cousin Vinny." Kate remarked. "You have no idea what you have done." She had a poker face on. She decided to mess with Jax a bit for not telling her which movies would be playing.

"Uh, I screwed up?" Jax's eyebrows furrowed in confusion. "The movies are not that great?" He asked. Is the date already a disaster? "I promise to pick better movies next time." He tried to come up with a solution.

"No, silly." Kate let out a chuckle. "I just wanted to mess with you for keeping the films a secret from me. These two films are my favorite comedies from the 90s." She leaned in and gave him a quick kiss on the lips. "Now, let's set up the blankets on the bed of the truck and then we'll buy snacks." They got out of the truck and Jax grabbed the bags with the blankets and pillows. After they put the blankets and pillows on the truck bed, they walked to the concession stand to get snacks.

"What do you want to get?" Jax asked.

"Let's get a bucket of popcorn to share. Also, nachos and Twizzlers. I'm getting a Coke for a drink." Kate said.

"You sure we'll be able to eat all that food?" Jax asked.

"We will." Kate replied.

Jax walked up to the cashier to give the order and he ordered a Coke too. Kate opened her purse and grabbed her wallet. "Put your wallet back in the purse. I'm paying for everything." He said. After Jax paid, they grabbed all of the items and walked back to his truck. Kate stepped first on the bed of the truck to move the blankets so they can cover themselves after they sit down. Jax handed her the tray with the food. He stepped on the bed of the truck and they finally sat down.

"So, I'm very impressed with your movie choices." Kate said. "A+ for effort."

Jax softly chuckled and draped his arm over her shoulders. "I'm glad. For a moment I really thought I messed up when you had your poker face on."

"I just wanted to mess with you for a bit because you wouldn't give any hints about the movies." Kate admitted. "Am I forgiven?" She had a tiny smirk on her lips.

Jax looked at her with a slight intense gaze. "I'm going to have to think about this." He also had a smirk.

"It is a serious matter. I suppose you need some time to think about your decision." Kate teased.

Jax grinned at Kate. "I thought about my decision."

"Okay. What did you decide?" Kate's hand landed on his chest.

"I decided to give you a second chance and forgive you." Jax teased back and leaned in to kiss Kate on the lips. His hand landed on her cheek. The kiss is soft. She smiled against his lips and cupped his cheeks. Jax wrapped his arms around Kate and pulled her closer to him. They kissed for a couple of minutes and pulled back.

Kate decided to tease Jax again. "I'll never doubt your movie choices from now on. So, what was the reason for earning your forgiveness?"

Jax smirked and his hands groped Kate's hips under the blanket. "Your outfit." He answered. "The leather jacket is my weakness."

"Good to know." Kate smiled. "Who knew that a leather jacket could affect you so much?"

The opening credits for 10 Things I Hate About You started.

Kate scooted closer to Jax. He put his arm over her shoulders. The bucket of popcorn is between them.

The scene with the motorcycle going down the hill started.

They burst out laughing at the scene. "I forgot about this scene. It's hilarious." Jax said while he is still laughing.

They were quiet during the scene when Patrick goes to the nightclub Kat likes.

The movie got to the serenading scene.

"This is my favorite scene from the entire film." Kate admitted.

After some time has passed, Jax shared his favorite scene from the movie. "My favorite scene is when they play paintball. I also like when Kat and Patrick talk after the paintball scene."

"Awww, you're a secret romantic." Kate gushed. "This is so adorable."

Jax suddenly got shy. "I guess I'm all about the fairy tale." He had a big smile.

Kate couldn't help but smile back at him. "All about the fairytale? You might be onto something with this comment. I never thought of the movie being like a fairy tale. I guess seeing this movie with you has given me a different perspective about it."

Eventually the movie finished. There is an announcement on the screen that My Cousin Vinny will begin in half an hour.

"Great movie." Kate mentioned. "I really took for granted how talented Heath Ledger was back then. He left this world way too early, but we can always find him on the screen every once in a while." She reminisced.

"You were a fan?" Jax asked.

"Yes. I could tell he was a great actor, but I always thought he would stick around for a long time. Many people were in shock when it was announced that he passed away." Kate replied.

"I hope the date wasn't ruined because of this film." Jax said.

"No worries. It's not ruined. I was just reminiscing about the film. It's been years since I have seen it. This movie will always be one of my favorite comedies." Kate insisted.

Kate excused herself and went to use the restroom. She's now walking back to the truck. Jax touched the inside pocket of his jacket where the bracelet he bought for Kate is in. He planned on giving her the bracelet at some point during the date. He thought now seemed like the right moment. She sat down next to him. "That line took forever." She said while covering herself with the blanket.

"Yeah, it was a long line earlier as well." Jax agreed. He was thinking how to give her the gift. He decided to just go for it. "So, I have something for you."

Kate turned her head to the side to look at Jax. "You have something for me?" She asked.

"Yeah. Could you close your eyes while I give you the gift?" Jax mentioned.

"You got me a gift?" Kate is very curious.

"I did." Jax replied. "Now, could you fulfill the request so you can see your gift?"

"Okay, Mr.Teller." Kate teased and closed her eyes.

Jax looked to make sure she really closed her eyes. He took the bracelet out of the pocket. Jax gently grabbed Kate's hand and put the bracelet in her hand so she can see it. "Go ahead and open your eyes." He said.

Kate opened her eyes and her gaze went to the item in her hand. It's a bracelet. "Jax, it's so pretty. I love it." She gushed.

"I'm glad you love it." He lifted the bracelet and opened the clasp. "On which wrist do you want to wear it?" He asked.

"The left one." Kate replied. He lifted the sleeve of her shirt and closed the clasp of the bracelet. "I can't believe you got me a gift." She looked at the bracelet.

"I wanted to buy you something. You have done so much the last couple of months. The bracelet is my gratitude to you." Jax said. "You deserve a nice gift."

"Thank you." Kate smiled and looped her arms around his neck.

"You're welcome, Kate." Jax softly said while he wrapped his arms around her.

"See, I was right." Kate said.

Jax pulled his head back and looked at her. "Right about what?" He asked.

"There is good in you." Kate said. "You didn't believe me before. Now I know it's definitely true."

Jax didn't know what to say. He cupped her cheeks and leaned in to kiss Kate. The kiss is very gentle. Her hands landed on his shoulders and kissed him back. His hands slid into her hair. He heard Kate let out a soft sigh against his lips. After they pulled back from the kiss, Kate couldn't stop smiling. "I'm never taking this bracelet off."

Jax smiled back. "Good. It means a lot coming from you." He leaned in and their noses slightly brushed.

"I'm willing to forgive that you kept the movies a secret from me. The bracelet makes up for this deceit." Kate teased.

"I knew that you would forgive me." Jax teased back. "It's not good to hold grudges."

"You're just lucky that you're cute." Kate laughed.

"I'm cute?" Jax chuckled. "Only cute?" He teased her. "What else?"

"Are you fishing for compliments?" Kate asked him.

"Maybe I'm just curious what you think about me." He corrected her assumption.

"First of all, you're not just cute. Let's clear the air about this comment." Kate said.

"Which is the correct comment?" Jax had a smirk. "If you could please share it." He joked.

Kate chuckled. "I really opened a can of worms when I said this comment." She mentioned.

"Well, that's true." Jax's fingers brushed the side of her neck. "Are you telling me I'm not a pretty guy?" Jax quoted the movie.

Kate burst out laughing when she heard the quote. "You did not just quote Patrick Verona."

"I did. Now answer my question." Jax playfully demanded.

Kate blushed. "You're a very gorgeous guy." She answered. "Is that a satisfying answer?"

"It is." Jax has a big grin. He cupped her face. "I want to hear more details. You're not off the hook yet, Ms.Dawson."

"Oh darn, I thought this question was over and done with." Kate playfully answered. She felt an exciting thrill when Jax called her Ms.Dawson.

"Nope, now you have to provide more details." Jax insisted.

"Okay, let me think." Kate said. "You're intelligent. You're a hard worker. Being a mechanic is definitely your passion because you mentioned that an office job would be out of the question for you. Fixing things is your forte. Obviously you're a fan of the Eagles which I found out on our first date. Last but not least, you're a good man. How did I do?"

"You checked every box." Jax said. "You've been paying a lot of attention. I'm very impressed."

"Well, I wasn't called Detective Holmes for nothing in high school." Kate chuckled.

"Detective Holmes?" Jax's eyebrows lifted with curiosity.

"I was good at remembering what people liked and disliked." Kate replied.

"This is very interesting." Jax mentioned and wrapped his arm around her.

"It is." Kate agreed. "But that story is going to be for another time because there's no way I'm going to miss My Cousin Vinny."

"Fair enough. We can't end the date on a bad note." Jax lifted his free hand in feign surrender. Kate scooted closer to him.

The opening credits for My Cousin Vinny started.

The movie got to the scene when Vinny is visiting his clients in the prison.

Later, the movie got to the leaky faucet scene.

They ended up laughing so much when the characters had the debate about whether the faucet is leaky or broken.

When the movie reached the famous scene about the word yutes, Jax and Kate couldn't stop laughing.

Jax parked his truck in Kate's driveway. They both got out of the truck. She grabbed one bag and he got the other one. She unlocked the front door and they stepped in the house.

"Where do you want the bag?" Jax asked.

"Just leave it next to the couch." Kate said while she also put the other bag there.

They walked to the door and Jax reached to grab the doorknob. Coming up behind him, Kate wrapped her arms around his waist and brought her hands up to his chest, feeling him take a slow breath in as he covered one of her hands with his. "Don't go." She quietly said.

Jax turned around and gathered Kate in his arms. "You want me to stay here?" He asked.

Kate nodded her head and looked up at him. "I've got the house to myself until the afternoon. I don't want the date to end."

"I don't want the date to end either." Jax agreed. "We can hang out on the couch and talk."

"Actually, I have something to admit." Kate softly said and she lowered her gaze to Jax's chest.

Jax's hand lifted her head. "Hey, talk to me." He softly said. "What do you have to admit?"

"Lately I've been thinking about what we didn't finish the night when you came over to talk. I can't get it out of my mind." Kate replied to his question. "I know we had the talk about us knowing when the right moment will be for us to do that. Throughout the date, I kept thinking about it. Then I started thinking back and forth that it's too soon. It's the second date. No one has sex after the second date." She ranted. "I sound ridiculous. We should probably wait a bit longer." Jax had a small smile on his lips while he listened to her rant. Kate noticed his smile. "Oh, great. Now you're probably making fun of me in your head."

"I would never make fun of you, darling." Jax cupped her cheeks. "I had the exact dilemma during the date. It scares me how much I want you in the physical sense considering this is our second date." His fingers brushed her cheeks. "Do you know how hard it was for me to restrain myself from trying not to feel you up when we were sitting in my truck? This leather jacket might be my kryptonite." He also went on a bit of a rant. "See, we're on the same page. We just have a bit of a problem taking the next step due to timing. If you want us to finish what we started that night, then I'm all for it."

"I do. Do I sound like a pathetic teenager?" Kate felt a bit embarrassed.

"No. You sound like a woman who is simply horny and just wants to have sex." Jax corrected. Kate looked down again. Jax tilted her head a bit so they're looking at each other. "I want to have sex with this sexy and horny woman." He playfully teased her. Kate blushed at the comment.

With his free hand, Jax managed to lock the door. He grabbed Kate's hand and they began to walk to her bedroom.
