Author's POV
"Ho gaya honeymoon?" Radha asked upon looking the three of them on the door
"Parso hi toh gaye the?" She continued upon hearing no response from any of them
"Aree kuch bolo bhi?" Radha was now getting anxious looking at the three of them. Something was off about them. Their eyes looked as if they had sleepless nights, she understands about Rudraksh and Samaira, but Devyansh, why is he looking so tired and worn out?
"Accha..jao baba aur bade papa ko batado ki tum teeno aa gaye ho" the three of them looked at her direction making her think if she said anything wrong
Rudraksh stromed in that direction. His face contorted with rage, his brows furrowed deeply and his eyes narrowed to menacing slits.
Samaira took a few steps but her mind told her to to do something else, so she went upstairs
When his eyes fell on the two figures sitting, chatting, laughing having the best time of their lives
But no more
Rudraksh was seeing red at this point. His jaw is clenched so tightly that the muscles along his jawline twitch spasmodically. Veins bulge prominently on his forehead and neck, pulsating with every accelerated heartbeat. His nostrils flare with each heavy, ragged breath, and his lips are pulled back in a snarl, revealing gritted teeth.
"Kyu?" He voice dangerously low as he stood before his so called Baba and Bade Papa and asked them
Upon hearing no response, he grabbed Aarav by his collar and threw him making him fall on the floor
"Kya battameezi hai ye?" Veer Arora stood up and glared at his son who was looking no less than a devil right now
His posture is imposing; shoulders hunched and tense, fists clenched at his sides, ready to strike.
The air around him seems charged with his fury, making him appear even more formidable and threatening.
"Tune meri maa ka balatkar hote kaise dekh liya, Veer Arora?"
The atmosphere went thick with anticipation, only sounds could be heard was the crackling of the fire and the flared breathes
Veer Arora looked at his son with disbelief.
How in the world did he find out?
"Rudraksh..bete humari baat suno" he made an unsuccessful attempt to calm his son but it all vent in vain when he was pushed down the floor and was about to punch him
"Nahi Rudraksh" the voice stopped him and turned around to see his Radha maa
"Apne baap pe haath uthaoge toh socho Meera didi ko accha lagega?" Her words made Rudraksh think about his mother's words
'Vo jo bhi hai...jaise bhi hai...baba hai tumhare...unke baaremai aisa nahi bolte'
Veer Arora sighed a breath of relief as he brushed off his son's hand and sat straight on his feet
On the other hand, Aarav Rajput was witnessing all this and tried his best to get out of the scene, he was about to step back but a hand on his shoulder made him freeze on his spot
"Kahi Jaa rahe hai, bade papa?" Devyansh asked him, patting away the sweat droplets off of his forehead with her handkerchief
"Hum sab sach batate hai" Aarav Rajput said
He no longer can hide the truth
Aarav started talking while everyone around him listened
"When Suman told me that she was pregnant with my child, I felt immense amount of happiness. Aur kyu nahi, akhir Mahal mai itne dino baad kisi bacche ki awaaz sunayi dene vaali thi. I was a man on cloud nine. Because your Suman Chachi never liked me, it was a pure political marraige. I was the only one who used to talk and make silly jokes. I was a king but she treated me like a mere servant under her feet. When I heard the news of her being pregnant, I felt that finally now she would accept me. During her labour month, I tried my best to stay by her side. But some business came along and I had to leave to take care of it. It was then. I heard she didn't give birth to the baby, that the baby died during the labour. I felt devastated. It was like I had lost so much within a day. Suman got even more distant. She was not talking with anyone, always in her room. She even shifted herself to another room where she allowed no one. Absolutely no one. She threatened me that she'll leave me which would be really harmful to my thorne as she was the rightful heiress and I got a royal tag after marrying her.
"Band darwaza" Rudraksh's angry voice cut him off as he looked up at Veer's son and nodded is head
He continued his part "Now I was convinced at this point that I could never be her one. Suman would never look at me with love. But one ordinary night, I saw the band darwaza open. My mind told me to leave her alone but my foot had already started making their way towards it. I peeked inside and saw her talking with Veer. My mind clouded with so many thoughts, was she cheating? Is this why she was not in love with me?. When I asked them about the same, Suman told me that Veer had just come to tell her the truth of his wife. That his wife Meera was the one responsible for the death of my child. She was the one who delayed Suman's visit to the vaidh's due to which the baby was strangled within the womb by the umbilical cord. I saw red. My anger knew no boundaries."
"I was so angry that I almost killed Veer but his next words made me rethink my decision. He said he would surrender his wife to me."
"I'm so sorry I was blinded by rage when I saw Meera scared for the life of his son, I wanted to give her the pain. And I lost control. Her body felt so soft against mine. I was a husband who was declined of his rights for many years, when I touched her, I lost it. I never meant to kill her but when her body went lifeless, I realised what I did. I killed her."
Rudraksh listened to all this bullshit with his hands gripped into a tight fist. He could feel his nails digging up his palm. But he was quietly listening to all his story because of the hand that was placed on his shoulder. His Radha maa was by his side calming the beast inside him who wanted nothing but the blood of these two
"It was years later when Suman told me that Devyansh was her and Veer's child. That she was never pregnant with my child. That it was all a lie. That Meera was never involved in their love story and had absolutely nothing to do with it. Suman started to talk nicely with me when I said nothing to her betrayal, she even cooked dinner for me? Can you believe it? I finally felt accepted. It was then when she told me her wish to make Devyansh a righful owner for half of the palace and I agreed. If it meant to keep her talk with me nicely, then I would do it. A hundred times again"
"Why did you lie about my mother?" Rudraksh asked Veer Arora who looked at him
"I was scared. Alright? The king had caught me with his wife in a closed room, what else was I supposed to say? Also Suman hated Meera. She hated that she was my wife and gets to live with me, carry my name. So she came up with this lie, I only followed her words." Veer Arora said not meeting his eyes with Rudraksh
"Haramkhor, tune meri maa ka sauda kiya? Iss haveli ke liye?"
"Accha tab A&R ka CEO kiya tha tab toh bohot khush the tum, aaj apne baap ko gaali de raha hai?"
"Mann toh karta hai Teri Jaan lelu, but no you'll pay for your crime. This riches. This palace. All this money. Bohot pasand hai na?"
Veer looked at his son who looked no less than his death right now
Veer smirked at his son's foolishness
"You think you'll catch me? Didn't you heard? The queen is madly in love with me, she wouldn't let anything happen to me"
Rudraksh smirked back at him and looked over his shoulder
Their eyes landed on Samaira. Suman stood beside her. Her eyes covered with tears as she took few steps forward. Samaira told Suman about how Devyansh will never accept her as her mother if she doesn't help them make Veer and Aarav pay for their crime
"Devyansh, call the local police" she said while looking at Veer Arora.
"Suman....tell them..they can't do anything" Veer walked towards her and started shaking her furiously grabbing her shoulders.
Veer kept pleading his eyes out when Suman just stood their like a statue. The sirens could be heard around the palace and men in uniform rushed towards it, finding it extremely rare that the royal family called them.
"Inhe le jaiye. He tried to molest me for years and even blackmailed me. please take him away" Suman lied to the officer and Veer struggled the firm hold of the police as he saw his entire life burn infront of his eyes.
There was no way he could survive jail as the queen herself has put the allegations on him
"You bitch! You're a whore, you seduced me by opening your legs thsg night. It's you who deserves all this punishment. Let me go!!" Veer shouted on the top of his lungs.
Betrayed, he felt raged as he saw the palace getting out of his sight. Out of his life
Suman stood in the middle of the room. Everyone surrounded her.
She laughed. Kept laughing till her legs gave up. Crumbling down the floor, she looked up and kept staring at everyone present in the room
"Tum sab gadhe ho. You all are fools. Aur tum. Aarav Rajput. Tumhari maa ne meri zindagi jahnum kar di thi. I was the queen. I was the royal blood. But you were lucky that my father died right after my marriage and there was no one to care for me. Tumhari maa ne mujhe Rani banne hi nahi diya. She treated me like a mere servant. Apne bade bete Arnav ko sab dediya. Ye pura palace, ye company. Ye sab mera tha. But after marrying you, it all vanished from my hands. It was Veer who made me feel like a queen again. But your stupid mother saw him getting out of my room that night, so I exchanged her medicines with a higher dosage. Killing her was the biggest achievement of my life. But as if she was not enough, your big brother came back to claim his rights on the palace. Aree Mela laga hai? Jo bhi aae vo aake leke jaae? Humara Mahal hai aur hum toh dur hi reh gaye. Devyansh was my son but I couldn't even tell him because of you, you bastard. Why didn't you die with your mother? Atleast I could lead a happy life with the man I loved." Suman slapped Aarav making everyone go shock
She grabbed the knife that was always tucked in his trousers and held it near her neck
"Nahi"
"Rani sa"
"Chachi"
Everyone shouted but it was too late.
She ran outside the palace and stood infront of it.
She was leading a good life. She made her husband believe that his nonexistent child was dead. She killed her mother in law and no one knew till date. She gave her son, his rightfully piece of the palace. Then where did it all go wrong? How has she ended up here outside her palace holding a knife tip on her own neck
She looked at Aarav deadly in his eyes and screamed her lungs out
"Tumse kabhi maine pyaar nahi kiya Aarav Rajput, tum mere liye sirf ek kutte ke barabar the" and with that she slit her throat.
Rain started pouring around the Rajput palace as the lifeless body of Suman lied on the ground. Blood got washed away with water but Aarav Rajput kept staring at her expressionless face. She was always like this with him. The only difference today is that she is not breathing anymore.
Samaira looked at the scene infront of her. It all looked too familiar. The rain, the people. There was a night when it was her family, her Mumma, her Baba who where on their knees crying and begging to them. But paying no heeds to their pleading, they threw them out of the palace. Now it's like the roles were reversed.
A very selfish part of her felt relieved that karma got them good.
She looked over Rudraksh as he went upstairs to his room
Her gaze then followed Devyansh and seeing no presence of him, her eyes furrowed
She saw him walking towards the garden,
Devyansh felt a presence behind him
"Aaj humne vakai mai humari maa khodi" he said sitting on the swing while gazing at the night sky, getting drenched in the rain
Samaira felt shivers down her spine as the cold air rushed with a heavy mixture of droplets
"Andar chaliye, Dev. Bohot barsaat ho rahi hai" she said her voice seeming low amist the loud pouring
"Humne kuch na pakar bhi sab kuch kho Diya, Samaira" Devyansh looked at her. Samaira could recognise the tears in his eyes despite of the water droplets. Her heart broke as he spoke those words
"I'm sorry, she killed your Dadisa"
Samaira let go of her tears as she heard those words. Her Dadisa. She was the sweetest soul.
"Never. I repeat Never be sorry for her actions. She never cared for you Devyansh. All she cared about was power and her position in the palace. Unhone apko janam zaroor Diya hai par Meera Maa sa ne sambhala hai aapko." Samaira held both of his cold large hands in her and said this to him looking in the eye
Devyansh kept crying like a small baby in front of her and she had no heart to leave him alone in this condition
She looked above and found Rudraksh staring at them from their bedroom when he quickly closed the curtains and dimmed off the lights.
He definitely misunderstood me. what will I say to him now? All her thoughts rushed in when suddenly rain stopped pouring around her head
Par barish toh ho rahi hai, she thought to herself
She looked at the umbrella held above her head and followed the arm, when her eyes collided with her favourite brown orbs
"Let's get inside. Both of you" Rudraksh said holding the umbrella for two important persons in his life as he promised himself to always protect them from such stromy nights and situation ahead in life
