It was the day after Nick and Matt had made up. They went to bed in each other's arms, as usual, Nick spooning Matt with his head resting upon the elders chest, using it as a pillow. Since it was cold, Matt asked to borrow his older brother's hoodie. It was not just a hoodie; it was his favorite one that would comfort him during the times Nick wasn't there with him. The sweet and familiar scent the soft fabric carried that smelt so much like Nick.
Nick had gone to the grocery store, leaving Matt resting on the couch scrolling on his phone.
He had the brim of the hoodie over his nose as he inhaled the favorable aroma. He soon heard footsteps coming down the wooden stairs; Chris. The younger approached Matt with a guilty looking frown painted on his face, Matt furrowed his eyebrows in confusion at the younger's saddened expression.
"Chris? What's wrong?" Matt asked worriedly, sitting up to talk to Chris.
"I heard your c-conversation with Nick last night. Sorry for eavesdropping, but I'm even more sorry that I took up all of his time, and t-that you felt like you couldn't spend time with him anymore." Chris explained, sounding as if he was on the verge of tears. He dropped his gaze to his fingers that were occupied fidgeting with each other.
Matt's heart broke, he couldnt imagine how Chris felt listening to his and Nick's conversation. He didn't want Chris to interpret it that way, he was just so upset at the previous events of the day he didn't realize what his words had meant.
Chris let out a shaky sigh, "I-I should probably just leave. I'm being dramatic anyway. I-I'm sorry." He said in a resentful tone, but when he got up to leave, Matt held him down gripping his hand back to the couch with his own.
"Chris, you never did anything wrong. I was the one being dramatic." Matt said, a slight giggle in his tone making Chris smile warmly. He let out a sigh,
"Listen, Chris, I promise you I am not mad at you. I just, I don't know, scared of being forgotten. I don't know if that makes sense, but I guess my whole life I've always been left out with friends. I was scared it would happen now. And, I'm sorry for lashing out at you last night. " He expressed, now holding both of the younger hands in his as he spoke to him sincerely.
Chris smiled at him, tears glazing over his electric blue eyes. "Matt, you really do have the sweetest soul." Matt grinned, throwing himself onto Chris in a bear hug. The younger bursted into loud giggles reflecting his playful demeanor. They held eye contact, Matt leaning over Chris to set a gentle kiss on his forehead. He then lowered himself, wrapping Chris in a meaningful embrace, holding each other tightly, yet with so much love.
Chris's eyes fluttered shut, Matt moving the wavy strands of hair that covered the younger's forehead. He soon fell asleep along with him, as they both slept; still with smiles on their faces.

The doorknob jiggled, Nick walking into the house setting his tote bag down on the dining table.
The view of his baby brothers entwined with each other revealed, making Nick smile warmly at them.
He set a blanket on top of the pair, though they were asleep, Nick could feel the immense amount of love that radiated from the two. There always came a lot of love from the sweetest souls.
