Ash and Jenny awoke in a strangely dark room filled with stale air and a musty smell. They were tied up in chairs. There were cobwebs everywhere and the floor was covered with dust and dirt. It was foggy and the two prisoners could not see very well.
"Darn it," said Jenny. "They took my gun."
"Where are we?" Ash inquired, almost whispering.
"I don't know," replied Jenny. "but I bet Team Rocket is behind this."
Suddenly, a silhouette appeared at the door. It entered the room with loud footsteps gradually came into view. James stopped at the two chairs and grinned. "Wakey-wakey, sleepyheads."
"What did you do with Pikachu?!" Ash furiously asked.
"Oh, the little yellow rat? Actually, we don't have him." James knew he was confusing him and smiled.
"What do you mean? I saw you carry him away last night."
"Yes, well, then he got away."
"He got away?! No! You just left him all alone in-" Ash was fuming and worried.
"Settle down, kid," Jenny interrupted. "We'll find him."
Another silhouette appeared at the door.
"Jessie," James began. "I can handle this-"
"No you can't, you've said too much," Jessie argued.
"I'm sorry, but it slipped..."
"It slipped? It slipped?" Jessie grew louder. "I'm beginning to wonder why our boss hires idiots like you to do jobs like this. Jobs that require people that actually have brains."
Behind the arguing criminals, this feud gave Ash and Jenny plenty of time to move their chairs closer together and untie each other's hands. They slipped out of their chairs and tiptoed out the door.
"Now, now, Jessie," James said, backing away. "hurting my feelings won't help anything."
"Maybe not, but hurting you will." Jessie said with a malicious grin as she turned around.
"What?! How is this possible?! Those brats escaped!" Jessie yelled. She turned back to James. "None of this would have ever happened if you didn't tell them we lost Pikachu." Her voice became creepily soft and menacingly calm.
James gulped.
