Paulo: *saw Ken at a distance, walking towards his house* *eyes widened* *internally panicked as he scurried away*
Ken: *still catch up to Paulo's retreating back*
Ken: Hi, Pau! Good evening.
Paulo: ...
Ken: Gabi na ah. Saan ka pupunta?
Paulo: Somewhere.
Ken: Ah... buti naabutan pa kita rito.
Paulo: *blankly stared at the newcomer*
Ken: *awkwardly scratch his nape* *nag-abot ng bulaklak*
Paulo: Para saan ito?
Ken: For you... uh, flowers for you? *sheepish smile*
Paulo: Hindi pa naman ako patay.
Ken: *frown* Hindi lahat ng bulaklak, para sa patay. I'm pretty sure alam mo iyan.
Paulo: Galit ka?
Ken: Hindi. Nagpapaliwanag lang.
Paulo: Bakit ka nandito?
Ken: *uneasy* N-Nanliligaw nga ako, 'di ba?
Paulo: Bakit?
Ken: *jaw dropped* Sinabi ko na naman sa'yo last month pa. Gusto nga kasi kita.
Paulo: Bakit ako?
Ken: Pau naman, paulit-ulit tayo rito eh. Gusto nga kasi kita. Kailangan ba may explanation?
Paulo: Not necessarily.
Ken: Iyon naman pala e—
Paulo: But I'm a guy. Straight ako.
Ken: *folded his arms confidently* And so?
Paulo: *naguguluhan* What? Hindi kita maintindihan. Consult your doctor.
Ken: Pau, wala naman akong pakialam kung straight ka. Ano naman ngayon? Ako nga, straight ako pero after kitang nakilala, bumaliko na lang sa'yo bigla.
Paulo: *sighs* You're just confused.
Ken: No. It took me four months to figure it out. I'm not attracted to any other guys, not until you moved here for good.
Paulo: I said you're just confused!
Ken: No!
Paulo: Bakit ang tigas ng ulo mo?
Ken: Just saying—
Paulo: Stop seeing me!
Ken: Bakit? Ayaw mo ba sa'kin?
Paulo: Oo.
Ken: Pangit ba ako?
Paulo: Oo.
Ken: Kapalit-palit ba ako?
Paulo: Oo.
Ken: Then why?
Paulo: Dude, you're confused. Wake up. Hindi tayo talo. Hindi tayo bagay.
Ken: Bagay pa rin naman tayo. Straight ka, baliko ako sa'yo. See? Bigyan mo ako ng chance.
Paulo: Ken, ang kulit!
Ken: Kahit one month lang. Kapag hindi mag-work, mag-m-move on na ako. Promise. Hindi na kita guguluhin ulit.
Paulo: *shakes his head*
Ken: Pau... kahit isang chance lang. Kahit huwag mong suklian. Hayaan mo lang akong mahalin ka.
Paulo: Bawal nga kasi! *started walking away*
Ken: Wait lang naman! Saan ka ba pupunta?
Paulo: Umuwi ka na.
Ken: *feeling hurt, he just let Paulo walk away* Okay lang, Ken. May next time pa. Hindi lang siguro maganda ang mood niya...

When Paulo is sure that Ken is not following him anymore, he cautiously enters the thick forest three blocks away from his bungalow. However, Ken still managed to sneak out... or so he thought.
Paulo: Labas!
Ken: *froze in his spot* *he's hiding behind a forty-eight years old Mahogany tree*
Paulo: Kahit kailan talaga, ang tigas ng ulo mo!
Ken: *swallowed* *halos mapasigaw pa siya no'ng bigla na lamang lumitaw si Paulo sa harapan niya*
Paulo: *squinting his eyes, inspecting the hard-headed Ken*
Ken: P-Pau, sorry. Sinundan kita kasi ano...
Paulo: Kasi?
Ken: 3 weeks na kitang napapansing laging lumalabas sa gitna ng gabi. Gusto ko lang malaman kung saan ka pumupunta at kung ano ang ginagawa mo.
Paulo: I'm doing business here. Personal. Too personal to be shared especially sa isang tulad mong matigas ang ulo. Umuwi ka na!
Ken: *tugging Paulo's shirt when the latter started walking away from him*
Paulo: Ano na naman? Kung tungkol pa rin ito sa chance na hinihingi mo, the answer is still no. Now, go home. It's not safe for you out here.
Ken: *tahimik na sumusunod pa rin kay Paulo*
Paulo: Ken, please...
Ken: *looks down* *heart is shattering* *he never knew being rejected every single time would hurt this much* *still, nagtataka pa rin siya kung bakit hindi siya nadadala*
Paulo: Kung natatakot kang bumalik, ihahatid na kita. Let's go. *grab Ken's hand*
Ken: *smiles bitterly as he follows Paulo's trail, looking at their hands with a pang* *curses into the air as he wants to cry*
Meanwhile, Paulo's grip on Ken's hand tightened. They both heard something a few feet away from them, as if someone was following them. This had Paulo stopped, tugging Ken beside him.
Ken: P-Pau? Ano 'yon? *nanindig ang balahibo niya nang makarinig siya ng kakaibang kaluskos kasunod ang nakakatakot na alulong mula sa kawalan*
Paulo: I told you to go home. I told you to stay away from here. I told you to stay away from me.
Ken: What's happening? Tangina, Pau! Ano 'yon? Bakit mas lumalapit ang alulong?
But Paulo didn't say a thing. He just alerted his reflexes while holding a secure grip on his companion.
A few moments later, a scream from Ken can be heard in the stillness of the night as a black wolf twice its size came out from nowhere, almost landing on them if Paulo didn't used his agility.
Ken: *gasped* Tangina? Nasa gitna tayo ng daan kanina, paanong napunta tayo sa may mangga? Nag-teleport tayo?
Paulo: You're so annoying! Stay here. This time, makinig ka na sa'kin! Kahit ngayong gabi lang kung gusto mo pang makalabas dito ng buhay.
Ken: Pau—
Paulo: And close your eyes. Kahit ano'ng mangyari, huwag kang sisilip and you will be fine.
Ken: Wait, Pau! Huwag mo akong iwan dito! May taong-lobo. Paano kung may mangyari sa'yo? Paano tayo makakalabas dito?
Paulo: That rotten rogue—stay here.
Ken: *started crying* Uwi na tayo. Promise, makikinig na ako sa'yo.
Paulo: I'll be back. I promise. Now, close your eyes.
However, Ken didn't close his eyes. He is freaking out but what creeps him more is the image behind his hiding spot. He saw with his own eyes how Paulo shifted into his own wolf.
If it is possible that his eyes will go out from its socket, maybe he's already after it now. Aside from Paulo's wolf who has a dark gray fur, when he stood, Ken felt like anyone who will stand against him will be crushed into pieces.
Paulo's wolf is twice or maybe thrice as big as the big bad wolf who attacked them a while ago. He even heard the black Werewolf grunts.
"Useless Alpha! Can't even handle well your own pack nor can cure the sickness in this curse land," it says full of mockery.
Ken's jaw dropped. "A-Alpha... putangina! Paulo?"
All the hairs on his nape creeps out the moment Paulo's wolf started howling, attacking the rude intruder in just one snap. The poor rogue shrieks, bloods dripping from the deep cuts on its chest. It stumbles down, back landing harshly on the dirt.
"Stay away from here. Leave and your kinds will be spare." Ken shuddered when Paulo's wolf spoke.
His wolf might be beautiful with his gray eyes and his fierce furs dancing in the night cold breeze but the voice? He's not going to comment on that. He even saw the fear from the wounded wolf earlier before masking it with a smug smirk.
He ducked when he saw the wolf looked at his direction. From that, the rogue knows he is hiding there... or maybe not. He's not that sure but he's assuming their eyes meet in a span of five seconds.
"Uulitin ko, umuwi ka at ipaabot mo ang pagkadismaya ko sa lider ninyo. Huwag na rin kayong magpapakita pa sa akin kahit na kailan. Leave this place alone."
The bad wolf chuckles, "You're a weak Alpha. You can't even protect your pack without the help of your witch Doctor friends to cure them. Poor little thing. You're a disgrace to your own Father!"
"Say that again?" Paulo's wolf growl.
"You are a disgrace to the former Alpha. No wonder you're the weakest because you don't even have a Luna. No destined Luna, no future for the Crimson Pack. Poor little thing," replied the black wolf.
"I guess you didn't value your life that much." Then Ken heard Paulo's wolf chuckle but with the voice that's coming from six feet under.
The bad wolf laughs hardly. "I won't last a day with your venomous paws, Alpha. But I am here to warn you. The rogues will have their revenge for me. Watch out for your weak mate who can't even defend himself. If I were you, you must defy destiny and find your own Luna instead. A fierce and smart Luna who is not naive."
"Ah, the rogues, you say? They've been trying for several months now. Always keep in mind that I have my eyes on my mate 24/7. I'm proud to say that my beloved is guarded." Ken hitched a breath. He harshly wipes his tears.
"Perhaps. But at least I know now you're easily distracted when your mate is around. I like the strong vanilla scent with a little hint of coffee in my nostrils. Ah, human. What a pleasant smell. I wanna have a taste—"
"Don't you ever lay a hand on my beloved!" And in just a second, the big bad wolf convulses after a sudden attack from Paulo's wolf and he never moves again after that.
Panting, Paulo transformed again to his human form. "Hinding-hindi kayo makakalapit sa kanya..."
"Alpha, we've butchered the last remaining garbage in the area. Nagtira lang kami ng isa. Rest assured na wala nang umaaligid-aligid malapit sa inyo. Kumusta ka?" Josh, his Beta linked to him.
In his mind, he said, "Good. Thank you for helping me. Ayos lang ako. Wala namang kwenta ang isang 'to. Bukod sa manyak, wala na akong masasabi pa."
He heard his Beta laughs mischievously and his wolf giggles. "Eh si Ken?"
"He saw me. Sa tigas ng ulo no'n, I won't be surprised anymore. Mas magugulat pa ako kapag sinunod ako no'n."
"I knew it. Anyway, take care of him. Ako na muna ang bahala kina Stell. Rest assured na makakarating sila sa pack house ng walang gasgas," Josh assured before he unlinked them upon his cue.
Ken: P-Pau? *blushes heavily upon realizing that the Alpha is completely bare in front of him* *hurriedly dislodges his thick and baggy jacket, silently thankful that he wore it tonight or else this Alpha will walk home in all his naked glory*
Paulo: *he just let Ken drapes the jacket around him* Thanks. You don't have to worry. I can shift and let my wolf takes me home.
Ken: *ignoring Paulo's words* Okay ka lang? Nasaktan ka ba?
Paulo: You didn't close your eyes, didn't you? Bakit ang tigas ng ulo mo?
Ken: *smiling bitterly, trying his best not to look at Paulo since the latter is showing too much skin for his liking* U-Uwi na tayo...

Ken: So?
Paulo: ...
Ken: You're a Werewolf? Tama nga pala si Lola. Sabi niya, may kakaiba na raw sa bayang ito five months ago.
Paulo: *sipping his purple tea*
Ken: *sighs* Hindi ba dumating kayo rito nina Josh five months ago? Pati ba siya, wolf din?
Paulo: *walang pakialam* *nakatingin lang sa kawalan*
Ken: *shrugged* Feeling ko pati sina Stell taong-lobo rin.
Pablo: Justin and Stell are both with doctors.
Ken: *gasped* Oh... witch doctors. Sila pala iyon... eh si Josh?
Paulo: Beta.
Ken: *nag-isip* Tama nga ako. Lobo rin siya.
Paulo: *wala na ulit pakialam*
Ken: Bakit hindi mo sinabi sa akin? I mean, ang tungkol sa inyo...
Paulo: You're human.
Ken: *tumango* Kaya pala iniiwasan mo ako. Pero masama talaga ugali mo, Pau. Mabait naman sa akin sina Josh. Ikaw, panay ka pagsusungit. Sayang, pogi ka pa naman.
Paulo: From now on, you should stay away from me. Baka makain pa kita.
Ken: Tssss...
Paulo: What? You're not scared of us? Ken, hindi lang kami ni Josh ang nandito sa lugar ninyo. The whole pack is here after migration. You're not one of us, you should keep your distance for your safety.
Ken: Yeah. Nakakainggit ang mate mo.
Paulo: *glared at Ken*
Ken: Narinig ko kayo no'ng pangit na Lobo kagabi. Naiinggit ako kung sino man siya. Kasi 'di ba, mate kayo so kahit na tao siya, tatanggapin pa rin siya ng mga kalahi mo. Other half mo siya so lagi kang nakabantay sa kanya. Kaya pala kahit anong pilit ko sa sarili ko, wala talaga.
Paulo: *sighs*
Ken: Tsk! Ang cold mo talaga kahit kailan. Kainis!
Paulo: ...
Ken: Kaya pala lagi mo akong itinataboy. Promise, from now on, hindi na ako mangungulit sa'yo.
Paulo: *look at Ken's sulking figure* *naawa*
Ken: *wanted to cry* *plays with his fingers*
Paulo: *rolled his eyes as he lets his wolf won this time* Ken...
Ken: *wipes his tears* *smiling forcibly* Itataboy mo na ba ako ulit? Wala man lang bang yakap? Kahit goodbye kiss? Ah, 'wag na pala. Bad pala iyon kasi may mate ka.
Paulo: *guiltily reaches for Ken's hands as he saw the other man's uncontrollable tears*
Ken: Sorry. Sorry, Pau. Don't mind me. Lecheng luha ito, nakakahiya. Ayaw tumigil.
Paulo: Sorry if I'm always a handful. I just wanted to protect you. I don't want you near me. Mas mapapahamak ka nang dahil sa'kin.
Ken: H-Ha?
Paulo: Hangga't hindi ko pa naaayos ang mga dapat ayusin, let's act as if we didn't know each other.
Paulo bites his lips harder as he heard his wolf, Pablo snarl at him. He pretended he didn't heard him. He knows Pablo hates it when Ken cried.
"I will always look after you from afar like the usual," Paulo whispers soothingly and he even heard his wolf purrs into it, basking into Ken's sweet scent.
Ken: Pau? Hindi ko gets...
Paulo: Ang tagal kong naghintay. Kung saan-saan kita hinanap. Kung saan-saan ako napadpad. Finally, found you here.
Ken: *mouth gape* *mas lalong gumulo ang utak* *wala na siyang maintindihan* What do you mean? Stop confusing me. Ang sama-sama mo talaga sa'kin!
But Paulo never spoke as he caged Ken in his warm embrace, inhaling that sweet vanilla and faint coffee scent from the latter. Ken's scent will always be his calm. It's the only thing that held him from his sanity for thrashing the rogues with no mercy—but that can wait.
"Ang gulo ng mundo pero itataya ko ang buhay ko para sa'yo," he said mentally as he felt Ken's arms snakes around him as if he's afraid of letting him go. Paulo could only smile, drawing Ken closer to him.

End Notes: hahaha! Sorry at masyadong fast-pacing ang kwento at hindi detailed ang action scenes kasi nga Nah, Just SeKen ito, collection ng mga memasabi lang na au.
