"Taehyun!! Beomgyu!!" Kai calls out in the crowd.
The moment everyone heard the gunshot, they all evacuated from the Grand Hall, shielding underneath the extended roof. Kai notices that Taehyun and Beomgyu were gone and when he told Soobin, the two immediately panicked and ran out, wandering their eyes in the crowd, searching for them.
"Beomgyu!!"
Kai looks up to the direction of Mrs Choi's voice and when he spots her, he follows the direction of her enlarged eyes and looks forward.
"S-Soobin-hyung..." Kai mutters with a frantic tone while pulling on the taller's sleeve.
Soobin follows Kai's eyes and his instantly widens.
Kai's eyes spot Beomgyu's figure as the brunette, who's extremely soaked trudged forwards out from the darkness of the pouring night that's casted by the storm, followed by the grumble of thunder.
He was holding something close to his chest and Kai could recognise the satin goldfish-beige tuxedo anywhere as the moonlight illuminates onto the satin through the heavy clouds.
A single, pale and limp arm falls. Frail and with no sign of redness as they dangle in the air.
Kai's eyes follow down to the noticeable and unmissable growing red patch seeping and trickling from his best friend's chest.
"Taehyun..." Kai mutters as he looks at Beomgyu's expression.
He's broken.
Even in the rain, anyone could see how red his face was, how swollen his eyes were and he still had tears streaming down his cheeks, mixed with the droplets of rain soaking his skin. He held Taehyun close to his chest as the ambulance arrive, his eyes won't peel away from the love of his life.
Beomgyu was reluctant, but as he laid Taehyun's body on the stretcher, his hands covered with the blood of his boyfriend remains smeared and they tremble in fear.
Beomgyu slumps onto the ground on his knees as he eyes Taehyun being taken away.

Beomgyu arrives at the hospital and before his mind could process, he finds his legs instinctively move as they run into the building. He makes way to the operation room where Taehyun's brought in and Beomgyu slumps onto the bench outside, his entire body still soaked wet from the rain and tears spilling out uncontrollably.
"Beomgyu-" Sir Choi calls out.
Beomgyu peers up through his lashes and glares at the sight of his mom and dad.
"How could you?" Beomgyu asks with a vengeful tone. "YOU HIRED HIM AND LOOK WHAT HAPPENED!!" Beomgyu shouts.
"Beomgyu, please..." Mrs Choi grabs hold onto her son's arm which Beomgyu shakes off immediately.
"I've told you countless times I didn't want any guards. But you just had to hire one anyways. Don't you know any respect for my privacy??" Beomgyu asks.
"It was serious this time. We had to get you security. Look what happened tonight-"
"THAT BULLET WAS FOR ME AND NOT TAEHYUN!! I RATHER GET SHOT THAN IT'D BE TAEHYUN-"
"CHOI BEOMGYU!" His mom raises her voice. "Don't you dare say that!! Your life matters."
"My life matters??" Beomgyu asks sarcastically. "How does it matter when I have to wait for Taehyun to go through hell in that operation room?? Why does it matter when he has to suffer the bullet that's supposed to be for me??!!"
The ward falls silent and Beomgyu notices the number of eyes and whispers surrounding him and his family. He clicks his tongue.
"I can't do this. I can't look at you two right now. Not when Taehyun's fighting for his life in there." Beomgyu says and he sits back down onto the bench, eyes onto the ground as he waits.
"Beomgyu..."
"What is it now?!" Beomgyu raises his voice and looks up only to see Yeonjun. "Yeonjun?" Beomgyu calls out.
"C'mon, we need to talk." Yeonjun says.
"I'm staying here until Taehyun's our from surgery."
"He'll be there for a while. There's no use in waiting mindlessly. I need to talk to you, I have to tell you, for the sake of Taehyun."
Beomgyu furrows his eyebrows but he sighs, giving up. As he stands up, Yeojun shoves a pair of clothes into the brunette's hands.
"Taehyun's room at the corner on the left. Wash up and get changed. I'll wait for you at the cafeteria." Yeonjun says before walking away.

Beomgyu trudged out from the hospital room and makes his way to the cafeteria where Yeonjun's waiting. He passes by the operation room and sighs. He clutches his knuckles, only hoping Taehyun would get through the surgery.
Beomgyu lightly slaps his cheek.
"You gotta stay strong." Beomgyu mumbles to himself.
He reaches the cafeteria and spots Yeonjun sitting at the a table at the corner. He walks and approaches the table, sliding into the chair across Yeonjun.
"You said you need to talk to me?" Beomgyu asks.
Yeonjun nods and takes a sip from his cup of coffee.
"You're not surprised? That I'm one of them?" Yeonjun asks.
Beomgyu shrugs. "No. It's expected after being lied to for months."
"Not everything Taehyun told you is a lie." Yeonjun defends. "I'm sure you have a lot of questions. So, ask away, and I'll answer you on behalf of Taehyun."
"How do I know you're not lying?" Beomgyu asks.
"What else is to lie when you've already found out the truth?" Yeonjun asks back, raising an eyebrow.
Beomgyu sighs. "Did Taehyun ask you to do this? He knew he'll end up like this?" Beomgyu asks.
"It is his duty as an undercover agent to protect you. He asked me a favour way back, when you guys started dating, he asked me to tell you everything if anything happened to him. I kept that promise, that's why I'm here." Yeonjun answers.
"I really don't know what to say-"
"Well, if you don't, then I'll say it for you. The only thing Taehyun ever lied to you about is him being an FBI, nothing else." Yeonjun says.
"What about him being an orphan? Was that true?"
Yeonjun nods. "He's an orphan and had moved from foster house to foster house. Suga found him trespassing one night and for some reason, he decided to adopt Taehyun as his younger brother. The Hwang twins were in the same foster home as Taehyun so they grew up together. I'm the only one he met at the FBI."
"Why didn't he tell me? That he was an FBI?"
"He wanted to. He desperately did. He wakes up every day with guilt that he has to live another day lying to you just to protect you. He never planned to fall for you, but he did. You yourself should know that if it's fate, it brings you together especially when it was you who made the first move, Taehyun was already wrapped around your finger."
"Did he ever love me? I don't know what to believe-"
"He always had and always will." Yeonjun cuts Beomgyu off. "He wanted to tell you after homecoming that he was an FBI-"
"Was?" Beomgyu asks.
Yeonjun nods. "Taehyun left the FBI yesterday because he wanted to be with you."
Beomgyu's eyes widen but he remains silent, his mouth unable to form words.
Yeonjun sighs. "You know Taehyun grew up as an orphan. No one wanted to adopt him, he never felt what having a family feels like. But when Suga adopted him and he met the twins, me, the FBI and you, he felt the love he craved and returned it whole heartedly. He'd take a bullet for you just like what he did to me-"
"He took a bullet for you? But there aren't any scars on his body?"
"There's a scar on his thigh. What I'm saying is that, Taehyun loves the people around him more than you think. He took a bullet for you. If that's not enough to prove how much he loves you, I don't know what to say to you Choi Beomgyu. You've been dating him for months, clearly you know how much Taehyun loves you."
"I-"
"You can fake infatuation and lust, but you can't fake love." Yeonjun cuts in.
Beomgyu feels a single tear fall from the corner of his eye.
"It's my fault. That bullet was suppose to be mine. It was suppose to kill me." Beomgyu says.
"He did his job." Yeonjun says.
"He doesn't deserve it. Be it an FBI agent or not. He'll only be in danger the more he's around me. The bullet shot was proof."
"So? It's not like you can push Taehyun away. Yeah, maybe you did end it but clearly you two still have feelings for each other."
Beomgyu stays silent and tilts his head away. That's when Yeonjun gets the note and his eyes widen.
"Y-You're not serious, are you?" Yeonjun asks, stuttering. "ARE YOU IN YOUR RIGHT MIND??" Yeonjun yells.
"THESE PEOPLE ARE AFTER ME!!-" Beomgyu shouts.
"It'll break his heart!!"
"If it's the only way to keep Taehyun safe-" Beomgyu cuts Yeojun off with a stern tone.
"Then he's better off without me."
