GRADUATION VISION

"ARE WE REALLY GONNA CRASH A GRADUATION PARTY? AS JUNIORS?"

"ITS NOT REALLY CRASHING IF IT'S AT MY HOUSE, WILL."

Graduation season eventually rolled around, signalling the end of spring. Augustine was thankful to be rid of junior year and her god awful biology teacher, and a certain blond friend of hers was feeling the same— hence why they were at the Dilaurentis home, getting ready to storm the Cullens graduation party.

Granted, Augustine was naturally invited given that she was a member of the family, but she thought it would be fun to bring Will with her. She'd brought her change of clothes to his house, coincidentally located on the same street as the Swan residence, and they did what normal teenagers did: they pre-gamed.

And by pre-gamed, she meant that she was going to be their designated driver while Will was nursing a bottle of some kind of sterile smelling liquor from his older sister's room. It wasn't like she could actually drink anyways, and Carlisle had been more than willing to lend her his car for the evening when she asked.

"What's it like— living with that many siblings?" he asked, rummaging through his closet to find a pair of sneakers that would match his shirt.

Augustine shrugged. "I grew up with just my brother, but it's not as different as I thought it'd be," she supplied from her seat at the boy's messy desk. "They're family, blood or not."

"Emmett, right?" he asked for clarification, hearing the name about a million times from the girl.

Though she hadn't been thinking of Emmett as the one brother she grew up with, she reminded herself of the story they gave to the public. As far as anyone needed to know, they were biological siblings, just like Jasper and Rosalie were. "Yeah, he's two years older than us."

"Hannah's three years older than us, out in Seattle for school," he replied, and Augustine subconsciously turned to the photograph of the two Dilaurentis siblings. The older girl was smiling brightly as her arm was wrapped around her taller, but younger brother. She had a tattoo on her inner bicep of what looked like a dolphin, and Augustine thought it was hilarious. "She should be home in two weeks after her exams. I really want you to meet her."

"Only if I get to introduce you to Emmett tonight," she mused, a smile of her own on her face as she thought about the stocky vampire. "You'll love him; he's literally you but louder.

Will scoffed, disbelieving. "If that's even possible."

"You'd be surprised," she laughed, leaning forward in the chair as her friend slipped on a pair of white shoes. "Ready to hit the road?"

Will took another swig of the bottle's contents and winced, leaving it on his desk. "Now I am."

Driving up through the driveway, Augustine didn't need to have enhanced hearing to take note of just how loud the partygoers inside the house were.

Luckily, having Cullen privileges and whatnot, Augustine parked in the garage rather than even try to think about parallel parking in the busy driveway. "Your place is fucking massive, teeny." Will observed, even as they clamoured out of the parked vehicle. "Even your garage is fancy as fuck."

"Yeah, it's a big upgrade from the bungalow I grew up in," she responded with a shrug, not having time to reminisce about Northern Alaskan life as she opened the door that was connected to the home.

Inside, the music was booming as teenagers of the graduating class filtered around. She had to admit, Alice did a bang-up job at hosting events— and the ravenette just hoped that this one would end up better than the last. She grabbed Will's hand in her own, weaving them through the crowds as she tried to find a member of her family.

As luck would have it, they didn't even cross into the living room when thunderous footsteps bounded down the stairs to the right. She spun on her heels, hand still holding Will's in fear that he'd wander off. "Em!" she yelled over the noise, though she knew he could hear her anyways. "Emmett, this is my friend from school Will— Will, this is my brother, Emmett."

Emmett, who was ever the gentle giant, had a stormy gaze directed at the sight of their hands together. Instead of saying anything remotely normal, he crossed his arms over his chest. "What are your intentions with my sister?"

Augustine blanched, immediately dropping Will's hand for extra measure. "Emmett, he's not—"

"I'm super gay, dude," Will laughed, trying to help alleviate the obvious tension that was radiating off of Emmett. "Like, one hundred percent, without a doubt."

Emmett blinked, head tilting to the side as he mulled over the boy's words. Instantly, her brother grinned and stuck his hand out. "It's great to meet you," he smiled, and Augustine watched as the two shook hands before doing some sort of bro side hug. "Hey, you two enjoy the party— I'm gonna go find Rose so we can head out."

That last part was directed solely at Augustine, who nodded and watched as the vampire bounded off in the opposite direction of all the high schoolers. Will instantly grabbed the girl's hand, tugging her towards the mass of seniors.

After a while, she, Will, and two senior girls had been talking near the edge of the dancing teenagers in the living room when she saw her other human friend. Turning to Will, she held up a finger to single that she would be right back.

Bella was stood near the stairs, glancing around the room. Augustine practically threw herself at the human, laughing out a, "hey, miss graduate!"

"Hey August," the Swan girl replied, embracing her friend back after she caught her footing. "I'm surprised you didn't head out with Emmett and Rosalie."

The ravenette shook her head, leisurely gesturing to the blond friend stood a few metres away. "Wanted to crash, brought my other normie friend with," she explained, observing how Bella looked in the direction she was pointing in before nodding.

Just as Bella was going to respond, Augustine's eyes drifted over the girl's shoulder. Both the brunette and the vampire both looked at a trio of introducers, with an unfortunately familiar face standing in the middle. Thankfully, Augustine hadn't seen Jacob Black since that day in front of the school, but it seemed like her luck had run. The other two boys were unfamiliar to her, though just by the smell she could determine that they were shifters, too.

They both watched as the three wolves approached them, Augustine practically bristling at their advances and scooting closer to the human girl.

"What're you doing here?" Bella asked, clearly just as confused by their presence as Augustine was.

Jacob had a stupid grin on his face. "You invited me, remember?"

"Was my right-hook too subtle for you?" Bella retorted with a scoff of laughter. "That was me, uninviting you."

A smile pulled at Augustine's face as she murmured, "burn."

"Look, Bella. I'm sorry about the kiss and your hand," he said back, and Augustine's eyes widened. That was how Bella hurt her hand? "I'd blame it on the whole inner-animal thing but, it was really just me, being an ass."

The ravenette beside Bella watched as he dug into his pocket, unveiling a so-called graduation present he made just for her. And low and behold, it was a decently nice bracelet— but attached to it was a wolf pendant. Augustine his her humour-filled smirk behind her hand inconspicuously because oh, Edward was gonna have a field day over this one.

Yet, out of the corner of her eye amidst her thinking of this silly pendant's repercussions, she saw Alice stood on the stairs. The way her pupils dilated, as if she were somewhere else in her mind, was telling to the fact that she was having a vision.

Augustine tugged on Bella's sleeve as she pocketed the bracelet, Edward approaching in the distance. "Family meeting, now."

⋆☾ ゚。⋆

The 'family meeting' extended to the wolves as the others found themselves listening to Alice recount her vision within the confines of Carlisle's office. They had four days until an army of newborn vampires was going to storm Forks, looking for a fight.

Edward searched Alice's mind, locating a familiar face that was behind part of the chaos: Riley Biers, a local kid who had gone missing out in Seattle. "He didn't start this," Edward added.

"Whoever did is staying out of the action," Alice responded, unable to decipher what else was going on.

"Either way, the army is coming and there aren't enough of us to protect the town," Jasper piped up, knowing their numbers would be nothing in comparison to the newborns.

Jacob clearly didn't like where the conversation was headed. "Hold up, what damn army?"

"An army of freshly turned, uncivilized baby vampires. Jeez Jacob, keep up," Augustine huffed with an eye roll.

The boy's jaw locked when one of the other shifters to his right snickered. A sharp look from Jacob made him clear his throat. "What're they after?"

"They were passing around Bella's scent," Alice told them. "A red blouse."

This seemed to be the right thing for Alice to say, as Jacob's attention immediately zeroed in on the issue. "They're after Bella?" he asked, anger rising as he shifted in place. "What the hell does this mean?"

"Means an ugly fight, with lives lost," Carlisle said sullenly.

The three shifters exchanged a look, almost as if they were having some unspoken conversation before Jacob turned to Carlisle. "Alright, we're in."

Bella immediately denied his statement, but Carlisle was quick to the punch. It meant more protection for the human girl, so he was already on board. "Jacob, do you believe Sam would agree to an understanding?"

And his response? "As long as we get to kill some vampires."

A grimace morphed onto Augustine's face because wow, wasn't he just a ray of sunshine? Some tense words were thrown back and forth between the human girl and Jacob, before Carlisle decided on a time for a joint, formal training session.

Although Augustine was thrilled to have extra support in their efforts to protect her friend, she was nervous at the thought of being in the same vicinity as the entire pack.

Not only that, but the entire pack meant someone else she needed to see would be there, too.
