every weekend i come to the wheelers while the boys play d and d, dungeons and dragons. most of the time i read my book, and sometimes ill watch them, today is a little bit of both
"somethings coming something hungry for blood. a shadow grows on the wall behind you, swallowing you in darkness. it is almost here" mike exaggerates
"thats a bit extreme" i smile
"what is it?" will asks
"what if its the demogorgan. oh jesus were so screwed if its the demogorgan" dustin says
"its not the demogorgan" lucas says reasurringly
"its definitely demogorgan" i say it in a sing song tune
"shut up steph" dustin says
"an army of troglodytes charge into the chamber!"
"troglodytes?" dustin smiles
"told ya" lucas chuckles in a duh tone
"wait a minute... do you hear that sound? boom... boom... BOOM! that didnt come from troglodytes, no that came from something else... the demogorgan!" mike yells
everyone starts to groan in frustration
"i kinda have to say i told you guys soooo" i tease
"will your action!"
"i dont knoww"
"fireball him!" lucas yells
"id have to roll a thirteen or higher"
"too risky cast protection!" dustin protest
voices fade away as i zone out looking at my tattoo thirteen. the one number that freaked me out. the boys have seen my tattoo. i just told them i didnt know where it came from. it take alot of work trying to hide something on your body. i stroke my thumb across the tattoo. im brought back to reality when they boys all jump out of there seats.
"where'd it go?!" will yells
"i dont know" lucas shouts
"is it thirteen?!" dustin yells
i get up once i hear mrs. wheelers voice
"mike!" she yells
"mom were in a middle of a campaign" he protests
"you mean the end 15 after" she says
"ill meet you guys in the garage losersss" i say then dustin picks a pillow and throws it at me but misses as i sprint up the stairs
"mom wait just 20 more minutes!"
"its a school night micheal, i just put holly to bed, you can finish next weekend"
"but that'll ruin the flow"
"micheal..."
"im serious mom the campaign to two weeks to plan! how was i supposed to know it was gonna take ten hours"
"you've been playing for ten hours!?"
"make sure you tell your mom i have her pan washed and ready" mrs. wheeler smiles
"of course! bye mrs. wheeler" i say
"bye honey"
i make my way to the garage and the boys follow all but dustin
"where the hell is dustin"
"giving nancy pizza i think" will shrugs
i pick up my bike and dustin comes out the door
"theres something wrong with your sister" dustin says
"what are you talking about?"
"shes got a stick up her butt"
"yeah its because shes been dating that douchebag steve harrington" says lucas
"uh hello is steve harringtons little sister not standing right here"
"its just facts" lucas shrugs
"yeah shes turning into a real jerk" dustin says with a mouthfull of pizza
"shes always been a real jerk!"
"nuh-uh she used to be cool. like that time she dressed up as an elf for our elder tree campaign"
"4 years ago!"
"see yaa" i say as i drive off on my bike
i put on my headphone and start playing music on my walkman. the way to my house separate from everyone else.

"mom im home!" i yell as i walk into the kitchen
"did you eat dinner at the wheelers?"
"yes momm. mrs. wheeler says she has your pan washed and ready"
"okay get washed up and ready for bed"
i walk over to my dad in the living room and give him a kiss on the cheek
"goodnight daddy"
i run up the stairs and get my stuff ready to shower. as im in the hall music is blasting from steves room
"hello loser" i say
"get outta here dork"
"are you dating nancy?"
"no, no were just friends"
"friends... this better not be another notch on your belt stevie"
"how the hell do you even know what that means"
"im 12 steve not 7, laterrr"

i get on my bike and ride to the street me and the boys always meet up. we get to the school and park our bikes.
"thats weird i dont see him" mike says look toward the dropoff area
"im telling you his moms right he probably ju'st went to class early again" says lucas
"yeah hes always paranoid gurskys gonna give him a pop quiz" dustin chuckles
"gursky gives pop quizs every week, id always be paranoid" i laugh
"step right up ladies and gentlemen step right up and get your tickets for the freak show!" troy says coming from right behind us
"who do think would win more money in a freak show? midnight, frogface, or toothless?"
"youre such an asshole"
"eat it harrington!"
james puts his hands on his chin deciding whom to choose. theyve never really said anything to me they used to but i dont take shit from them
"i go with toothless" he mimicks dustins lisp
"i told you a million times, my teeth are coming in its called cliedocranial dysplasia!" he protest
"i told you a million timess" james chuckles
"do the arm thing" troy demands
"you guys are such losers! do you really have nothing better to do than torment us?"
"do it freak!" james says
dustin takes off his bag and jacket and bends his arms and they pop once he does it. i wish i could use my powers but its to much of a risk me even remebering half the stuff from my time in the lab is a risk, i wish i was never put in there.
"oooh god! gets me everytime!" he says as pushing between us
"assholes" says lucas
"i think its kinda cool, its like you have superpowers or something. like mr. fantastic!" mike says trying to cheer us up
"yeah, except i cant fight evil with it"
"i wish i could just trip those douchebags infront of the whole entire school"
"come on guys lets get to class" mike leads as he walks into the school.
after mr. clarks class the boy pack up quickley, all they talk about during class is how they cannot wait for the ham radio to come. after everyone leaves the class i stand to the side as they wait for mr clarks attention. he finally looks over them
"so did it come?" mike says it excitingly
"sorry boys, i hate to be the bearer of bad news, but... it came!"
"yess!" dustin exclaims
the three boys rush to the av room as me and mr. clarke follow behind
i stand beside dustin as they are taking a close look at the heathkit.
"the heathkit ham shack. aint she a beaut" mr clarke says putting his hands down to the side of his hips
"i bet you can talk to new york on this thing" dustin exclaims
"think bigger"
"california?" lucas questions
"bigger"
"australia?" mike asks
they all exclaim in excitement as i chuckle and put my hand on my head
"guys its just a heathkit. just hugeee walkie" i say
"just a heathkit?! just a heathkit?! this invention has changed the world. it changes me." lucas says confidently
"changes you?"
"im a man now"
"you wish weirdo"
then theres a knock at the door
"sorry to interrupt, but, uh, may i borrow micheal, stephanie, lucas, and dustin.
we gather our bags and follow behind the principal and police officers who for some odd reason scares the living shit out of me
"what the hell do you guys think this is?" i whisper to the boys
"i dont know but were about to find out" mike whispers

im sitting on the floor, as my thoughts fade away to one only. 'where is will?' im in shock nothing bad ever happens here. or so were told. will is missing. my bestfriend i dont know what to do. i want to help i want to go out there and find him so the sadness can go away
"no. after school you are all to go home. immediatley. that means no biking around looking for your friend, no investagating, no investagating, no nonsense. this isnt some lord of the rings book" the cheif commands
"the hobbit" dustin corrects
"shut up" lucas smacks dustins knee and they go back to bickering
"do i make myself clear?" he stands up and hovers over us
"do i make myself... clear?" he says
"yes sir" mike and dustin say
"yeah" me and lucas say in sync
after all the i rush home and quickley get inside
"steph sweetheart?" i hear my dads voice from the living room
"cant talk right now daddy love you!" i say as i rush past him
i close my door and put everything i need to go looking for him. i set it next to my desk and do my homework before calling mike
"mike, do you copy is steph, over."
"yeah i copy"
"we need to go out and help find will"
"i know, but my house is on total lockdown"
"so is mine but i manage to escape. call lucas and tell him to call dustin. over and out"
becca hendersons pov
"i want to come i say as i walk into my twin brothers room
"what no way rebecca! and keep it down mom could hear you"
"well if you dont let me go im telling" i say as im about to walk out
"wait! fine. but this is top secret!"
"of course i know that this is will were talking about i dont know what to do with out him" i admit
"awwww becca has a crush!"
"dustin im going to kill you!" i throw a pillow at him before i play attack him
steph harringtons pov
we finally reach the spot where its crossed off my police tape. rebecca dustins twin sister tagged along with dustin. shes had a crush on will since forever. it reasonable shes here
thunder startes to rumble
"hey guys you feel that? i think maybe we should go back" dustin asks
"no. were not going back just stay close. come on" mike says as we all follow after him
"just stay on channel six dont do anything stupid."
"wait up!" dustin yells running towards us
as we start walking deeper into the woods water falls atop, as we scream for will.
were 20 minutes into walking and theres still nothing. but we cant lose hope now.
"oh god!" rebecca screams
"what!" dustin yells
"what is it!?" lucas asks
"my hair! its ruined!"
"seriously becca?" i say as we walk again
"will! ive got you x-men 134! guys i really think we should turn back" dustin says
"seriously dustin? you wanna be a baby then go home already!" lucas yells
"im just being realistic lucas!"
"no youre just being a big sissy!"
"do you ever think will went missing because he ran into something bad? and were going to the exact same spot where he was last scene? and we have no weapons or anything?"
"dustin shut up" mike says
"im just saying does that seem smart to you?"
"shut up dustin!" i yell
we hear rustling coming from around us
"did you guys hear that?" mike asks
we all jump at the rustling and our flashlight go to a girl. a girl with a shaved head.
"holy crap" rebecca says
