During my last couple weeks in Vancouver, I had to cram in as much press stuff as possible. That meant interviews, photoshoots, game shows, the lot. Today, I had been asked to do a an interview with Seventeen.
"Okay, here we have my abnormally large Dior bag. Uh, this was my first ever big purchase. I bought this with my own money, which is crazy that I can do now. So thank you to my mommy for allowing me to pursue this career." I blew a kiss to the camera, opening up the bag.
"I can fit almost anything in here. My laptop, my cat, not my boyfriend, unfortunately. But I can fit a whole library of books. Which brings me to my next item..."
I lifted out a pile of novels. "I always carry at least 3 books with me. They're all different genres, usually romance, fantasy and crime. Because what if I get bored of one? Or I finish one? What if something insane happens and I have to take a break from one? If so, I've got two back up options. At the moment, I've been carrying around The Poppy War, A Good Girls Guide to Murder and Archers Voice. I recommend the former and the latter to anyone who wants to be severely traumatised."
"Okay, next is something that I've had a million questions about. So, here's my much requested lip combo. I use the Rare Beauty lip liners in the shades Lively and Wise, and of course, I also use the Rhode lip tint in the shade Toast - rose taupe. I'm super grateful to be a partner in Rhode, for many many reasons. One, because Hailey Bieber is the sweetest person on Earth, and she really has created one of the best skincare lines I've ever used. Two, because I got early access to this lip product. "Ooh, okay. Now we have my legendary Iron man wallet. I don't wanna hear anyone make fun of me for this. A couple years ago, me and my pookie Ariana Greenblatt had each other for Secret Santa, and I bought her a Spider-man wallet and she bought me this. It was a crazy coincidence, but we both love Marvel and we take gift giving really unseriously. At first it was a joke, but we both still carry it around with us, so. AND, Iron Man is the best Avenger. I will stand by that until I die. I love you, RDJ."
"Next are my Chanel sunglasses. I had these gifted to me from an event I did a while ago, and they're just so beautiful. Also, they're completely black-out, so it makes it so easy to watch people without them knowing. I'm a serial eye-roller, so this has saved me countless times."
"My phone... where do I start. It's pink. That's why I bought it. I love pink." I lifted it up, showing off my Rhode phone case.
"My screen time is awful, I have to admit. I blame Sunny and Walker for that. They message me so much, it's insane. And I see them both like, every second day. I love them heaps though." I beamed at the camera.
"My next essential is actually an app, which is voice memos. I'm a musical girl, and sometimes I get song ideas when I'm walking out of the dentist, but I don't have anywhere to write it down. So I just sing or speak or hum into my voice memos. I've got thousands." I showed my screen, scrolling through them all as proof.
I reached down into my bag for the next object, laughing nervously. "So I'm not ashamed to admit that I keep this with me everywhere. I have like, a collection of wrist bands from all the concerts I've been to. Gracie Abrams, Taylor Swift, Sabrina Carpenter, Reneé Rapp, Lana Del Rey, Olivia Rodrigo, Evelyn Summers, Ariana Grande, the list goes on and on. I'm obsessed with going to concerts." I shifted through them all, reading all the tags.
"Of course, we have my head phones. They're massive, of course. I love these way more than my airpods, because people can see that I'm wearing these and they won't try to bother me. When I'm listening to music I don't like to be disturbed. Take that as a warning. I also love them because they're pink." I presented them, stroking the side of them like a precious gem.
"Here we have gum, not just any gum. Watermelon flavoured. The best flavour."
"Hand sanitiser. The world's a grubby place. I don't trust that anything has been cleaned enough."
"Last but not least are my mini victoria secret sprays. These are my two favourites, Bare Vanilla and Amber Romance. I drown myself in perfume. You won't ever catch me smelling bad. Ever."
"Thank you so much to Seventeen for having me, you guys are awesome. I hope you all enjoyed watching! Stream Percy Jackson and the Olympians on December 20th!" I waved to the camera.
"And cut! Thank you so much." The camera man said, dismissing me finally. I smiled at him, thanking all the crew before I left the set.
Once I walked off, Sunny came running up to me. "God, you're so iconic." She groaned, linking arms with me. "Sometimes I forget that you're my best friend and I almost go full fan girl mode."
I laughed, smacking her on the back of the head. "Shut up, you beautiful rat. Is Sadie here?"
"Yeah, she's out the front." Sunny explained as we passed the reception.
Sunny's older sister, Sadie, flew down to join us in Vancouver a couple weeks ago. Sadie was like the sister I wished I still had, and she was remarkably similar to Marina as well. They used to be best friends before she passed.
"Hey, gorgeous! Did you have fun?" Sadie asked cheerfully as we slid into the back seat of her light pink porsche taycan.
"Ugh, so much fun. So many cool people have done that interview, it's the most insane thing ever. Madison Beer, Lila Moss, Kendall Jenner." I listed the first few that came to my mind.
"I'm so proud!" Aryan exclaimed, jumping out of the front seat. Sunny and I screamed, grasping onto each other in shock.
"Thank you, Aryan." I sighed once I realised that it was just him. Sunny whacked the boy, cursing at him and threatening him incase he ever tried to scare us again.
"SURPRISE!" Another two voices yelled cohesively, popping out of the trunk. Sunny and I yelled again, shielding ourselves from Charlie and Walker.
"Fuck you!" I laughed, watching as Sadie and Aryan cracked up in the front seat. Walker leant down and kissed the top of my head, and then my cheek.
"Hello, gorgeous." He whispered in my ear, making me turn pink. I shoved him away, swiftly pulling him back to kiss me. He giggled against my lips.
"Ew." Aryan cringed and the two of us pulled away. I want aware that the whole car was watching us in that moment. I apologised, leaning back into my seat. The blonde boy chuckled, his arms falling around my chest.
"We're taking you to Bloedel Conservatory." Charlie informed me, to which I gasped, clutching Walkers hands at my chest.
"Are you kidding?" I said, in complete disarray. Bloedel Conservatory was my dream wedding destination since my sister and I visited when I was six. We haven't been back since, but I missed so dearly. To me, it was the most beautiful artificial place on earth.
"Nope! I knew I was going to take you before we left." Sadie said, pulling out of the parking lot. Sunny beamed, wrapping her arms around me.
"Get ready for the tears, guys. The pink flowers make her cry."
