Since i was very young, i felt this strange presense around me. Like a shadow always following close by. When i would walk down the long hall of my house, i could swear it was standing at the end. Even when i was at school, being messed with at the yard by my classmates, i felt something observing from the woods nearby, lurking in the shadows. And in my room it would always stand in the corner, creeping, tall.
In the first encounter i was but a baby (around 2003). I would scream and cry and i would look at the balcony door. Nothing unusual... And as i matured, learn to talk, i started describing it to my parents. I would wake up in cold sweat after horrifying nightmares, night terrors and i would cry in my mother's arms, about this shadow man, tall as a tree, with limps long and who's face i sadly could never remember.
(Slenderman wasn't even an idea back at the time. Or was he? Creatures like Him may not be as imaginary as we think.)
Always watching me, as the years flew by, this being seemed like a gardian angel to little me.
Growing older and visiting my village wasn't any different. I could feel its presense behind me on my walks, i could see it watching me and my cousin when we would sit in the garden. I recall the weather, fog, clouds and an eerie atmosphere.
I found comfort in the woods, i found comfort in the mist and the moment i read about the Slenderman, i found comfort in his blank face.
And after all this time, now an adult, i still feel Him all around me, i see him in the corner of my eye. I saw him when my dreams were merged with my reality, growing taller by each second, reaching my ceiling. He has always been here and he never left.
