Liam silently followed Malia. The two walked for a while until Malia seemed to catch a scent and took off running towards it. After about five minutes of running, Malia stopped in front of a cave and looked up at Liam as if to tell him to go inside. Liam took a few deep breaths and turned to Malia before entering the cave. "You can go running, I know you want to. I'll see you in a bit, Mal." Liam yelled the last bit as Malia took off, running into the woods.
Liam cautiously stepped into the cave and instantly felt relaxed as the scent of Theo hit him. "Theo? Theo, you in here? Babe, I know I messed up, and I'm sorry. I love you so much, and I wish I never told you to leave. We should have talked it through. Please just come out so we can go home." Liam begged, using his wolf eyes to see where he was standing.
Liam cautiously moved forward when he saw something moving in the corner. "T I know you can't speak, but please just come out so I can see that you're okay." Liam waited for a second and the figure moved closer, slowly. It was Theo, well, Theo in coyote form. Compared to his wolf form, Theo's coyote form was smaller, and its fur was a light grey instead of black. Liam was always jealous of werewolves that could fully transform but the fact Theo could transform into a wolf or a coyote whenever he wanted, made Liam more jealous but at that moment he was just relieved that Theo wasn't physically hurt.
The coyote moved closer to Liam but stopped only a couple feet in front of him, by this time Liam had crouched down waiting for Theo to come to him.
Theo could feel that Liam felt sad and guilty, but he wasn't ready to forgive him just yet. Theo moved closer to Liam. When he was stood just in front of Liam with his hand out, Theo decided to bite his hand. Of course, this caused Liam to jump up and yell at the coyote.
Theo ignored Liam's yells and walked straight past him out of his cave. Liam followed after him, staying a reasonable distance behind the chimera as to not irritate him any further.
Theo and Liam walked silently back to Liam's house. When they got home, Malia was sat in front of the door waiting for Liam. The three went inside, Malia and Liam went upstairs so that Malia could change and Theo went to the bathroom, locking the door behind him. Theo transformed back into his human form and got straight into the shower, just standing under the water.
Theo stood motionless under the shower head for about half an hour before Liam came knocking. "Theo? Hey babe, you've been in there for half an hour, are you okay?" Liam waited for a reply, but didn't get one. After a second the water shut off and the door unlocked as Theo walked out pushing his way past Liam.
"T, are you okay? Please say something, anything, tell me you hate me, just please say something." He begged, but all he got was a look of pain from Theo as a few tears fell from his eyes. Liam wanted to hold Theo and wipe away his tears away, but he could tell that Theo's mind was all over the place.
Liam moved closer. "T, I am sorry. If I could take it all back, I would. You know there is nothing in this world I love more than you, and I can't forgive myself for what I said to you, I was just annoyed because you left and the voice in my head kept telling me you'd never come back, and I shouldn't have listened to it. I should have let you explain, and I should have listened to you instead of going off on you." Liam gently trailed his hand up Theo's arm, stopping at his bicep, his other hand gently grazing over Theo's chest and pulling him by the neck into a soft, sad kiss.
Theo pulled away from the kiss and let the tears fall as he stood in the middle of the room. Theo went into Liam's drawers and pulled out a pair of grey joggers that would have been loose on Liam, but were a perfect fit on Theo.
"Come with me." Theo left the room with Liam on his tail and went into the kitchen. "This is what I was doing." Theo pointed towards the bags on the counter that were filled with junk food, all the pack's favourite drinks and about five new DVDs, all things the pack had said they'd want to watch or mentioned missing from their childhoods.
"Theo, what is this?" Liam was confused. "This is what I was going to use to set up a pack movie night for Friday, after school. As a gift to you, actually. To show you that I really want to try and become a pack animal and that I've changed and to hopefully win over some of the pack." Liam heard the sadness in Theo's voice. Theo was trying, he really was.
Liam realized why he was gone so long, he was finding everything, every snack and drink that each pack member liked, which wasn't going to be easy because he couldn't find all of them in one store. Some of the things Stiles likes alone are only sold in the next town over.
"I'm so sorry. I didn't think you'd come back, I thought you just left me, that you weren't coming back. I didn't think-" "You didn't think I was capable of doing something nice." Theo interrupted. "What? No. Theo, I know you're capable of doing nice things, I've seen it. I just didn't think you wanted to be in the pack or that you even cared about them liking you." Liam really wasn't the best at speaking, he was more of a doing guy, showing someone what you mean rather than telling them.
"Liam for you, I'd do anything and if that means becoming a pack animal and getting them to understand how I've changed then that's what ill do. I have killed for you and I would again, just as long as I get to see you every day, whether we're together or not is up to you." Theo swallowed back the lump in his throat.
"What do you mean, 'whether we're together or not'? Is this-are you breaking up with me? Please don't do that. I can't leave without you. I won't." Liam had tears in his eyes. What if he does break up with me? Does he not love me any more? How will I live without him? Liam stared at Theo, trying to understand what he was really saying. The room was silent, neither saying a word.
"Maybe. Maybe we should just take a break and sort things out." Theo didn't want this, but he couldn't think of anything better.
"No. No, please. T, baby, no you can't do this, you can't. I can't live without you, please. Please don't go, don't leave me, please." Liam begged Theo, holding the taller boys face in his hands while tears streamed down his face.
"Li, I don't want to, but I think it will be best if we take some time apart for the both of us. There's just a lot I need to think about. I'm sorry my love, but I have to leave now otherwise it'll just get harder." Theo gently pushed Liam back and went up to his room, changing into some clean clothes and packing all the things he had there into his gym bag. As soon as he had everything he could see that belonged to him, he left the house without saying another word.
Liam was broken. He was on the floor crying, tying not to have a panic attack. The only person he's ever truly loved has left him. Everyone leaves him. His mother, his father, his step-father, Hayden and now his boyfriend.
Liam cried for hours. Malia had left straight after she transformed back and got dressed, so he was all alone.
The tear stained beta decided to call the one person he knew would be there for him. Mason Hewitt. His best friend for as long as he could remember.
While waiting for mason to pick up, Liam wiped away his tears and tried to cover the fact he'd been crying, although mason always knew anyway.
"Liam?" Mason sounded tired. "Mas, can you come over? I really need my brother right now." Liam wasn't covering his rough voice at this point, what's the point, Mason knows every trick Liam would try.
"Li, what happened? Why are you crying?" Mason was concerned, what could have happened to Liam to make him cry?
"Mas, why does everyone I love leave me? Hayden left, my mother left, David left, the love of my life Theodore Raeken left me. Is it me? Am I what makes everyone leave? Maybe I should just leave, then no one else can leave me. Right? If I leave." Liam wasn't thinking straight, his heart was broken and he was broken.
"Liam Dunbar, you listen to me. You are not leaving, okay? Not everyone leaves, I'm here, and I don't plan on going anywhere anytime soon. Just don't move and well be right over." Mason sounded kind of scared, like Liam could break any second.
"We?" Liam questioned.
"Uh, yeah, Corey's driving, I had a few drinks earlier and well you know the whole supernatural tolerance makes for good Uber drivers." Mason laughed at his own joke, causing Liam to let out a small chuckle.
"Don't do anything, I'll see you in a few." with that the line went dead and Liam turned his phone off waiting for Mason to arrive which also gave him some time to cry some more.
About five minutes later, Mason came through the door with Corey and two huge tubs of ice cream. "Get up, sit on the couch and tell us everything." Mason pulled the young beta onto his feet pushing towards the living room and got two large spoons from the kitchen, following the boy and sitting next to him.
"Tell me everything. I mean it, I want to know how to help you." Mason gave Liam a tub of ice cream and a spoon. Corey came into the living room and stopped just at the door. "Aren't you coming in?" Liam asked the chimera. Corey shook his head. "No, this is for you brothers, I'm going to find that idiot and convince him he messed up big time." After he finished speaking he walked over, kissed Mason and left the pair alone.
"So, from the beginning. What made all this happen?" Mason shovelled ice cream into his mouth as Liam started explaining how he made a mistake and how it was mostly his fault. Liam spilled his heart out to Mason, and Mason sat and listened silently.

"Mas, I don't know why I did it. I just got so paranoid and scared he'd never come back, and locking me in the house with mountain ash was making me insane." Liam ate the ice cream slower than he ever had before.
"I mean he is so sweet and so amazing he was organizing a pack movie night, and he even went to the next town over just to buy stiles his favourite snacks he bought everyone's favourite snacks and drinks and even DVDs they mentioned. How could I ever let him go." A single tear rolled down Liam's cheek.
"He said he needed to think, that he had a lot he needed to think about. I begged him mason, I begged, and I could see he didn't want to leave, but he forced himself to. He wanted to stay, I know he did."
Liam wanted to go and find Theo, but he knew Mason wouldn't let him.
