emma walked from matt's car towards the school. she trailed a bit far behind his so no one suspects that they were hanging out. the last thing that emma wanted was for one of her bitchy "friends" to get upset about not being with them at lunch.
she walked into her next class with a sigh of relief escaping her lips. none of the girls had stopped her. it seemed like the whole plan of not telling people they were hanging out was working. granted it had only been like a day.
emma went through the rest of her classes like normal. once it hit the end of the day nick sturniolo came up to her.
"hey! where still on for today right" nick asked
"of course" emma smiled at the brunette
"okay well let's go wait for my brothers over there" he pointed to a secluded area outside.
it was nice outside. the sun shinned and the wind blew a little making it the perfect temperature.
nick and emma talked to themselves for a little longer before they were interrupted.
"hey emma? why weren't you at lunch today?"
fake smile and all, emma stood up from her previous spot on the ground
"why the fuck does it matter" emma spat
camila seemed taken aback by her but not enough.
"you know cause we're best friends" she faked smiled
"you wish"
"you think you're better then us?" camila snapped
"honestly I am, bye bitches" emma smirked as she saw matt, chris and vicky standing behind the girls.
camila, alisha and ashly looked offended as they walked off towards camila's car.
emma turned towards nick who had his jaw dropped on the floor laughing as they walked away
"holy shit! that was awesome!" nick exclaimed as he high fived emma.
the blonde turned towards the others who where also awe stricken. its hard for emma to stand up for herself so this was an accomplishment. matt and vicky looked proud of her while chris looked shocked.
"okay well I know I'm awesome and everything but we have a project to do don't we nicolas" emma asked
"right, um lets go to the car then" matt said as everyone started walking towards his car.
once they all got into the car they all sat in their designated seats with emma sitting on the right side of the car with nick in the middle of her and vicky while chris was sitting next to matt in the front.
in all honesty both emma and matt wanted to sit next to each other but they couldn't or it would ruin the whole 'where not actually friends, but we are at the same time' plan.
as they were driving chris was on aux and emma looked over at vicky giggling when they made eye contact.

vicky giggled as she read emma's last text, putting her phone down as well. nick who had been unfortunately listing to his idiot brothers fighting about god knows what, looked at the two confused as to why they were giggling
"why are you guys laughing?" nick asked
"we're not" vicky defended
"your bothers music taste" emma told him
nick nodded understanding what she meant. he knew his brothers music was less then ideal for someone like vicky who listened to artists like taylor swift. he personally didn't love their music taste either but he could jam to some of the songs.
around 10 minutes later matt had pulled up to the sturniolo's residency. once he parked the car everyone took their time getting out and grabbing their stuff which annoyed matt as he was the first to get out of the car
"if you guys don't hurry the fuck up i will not hesitate to lock you all out here" matt exclaimed
"sorry, i have a lot of shit to grab" nick argued
emma, who was the next one out of the car walked over towards where matt was standing. she gestured her hand over to a secluded area where they could talk.
"so, sorry about the whole studying thing i know where supposed to 'stay away from each other'" emma apologized
"no. it's okay i get it! you had to work on your history project with nick. i can't stop you from doing that. also good job for sticking up for yourself earlier" matt complimented
"oh that! it was nothing" emma shrugged it off.
"but it was a start" matt softly smiled at the girl.
"yeah i guess your right" emma said
"what the fuck! you where complaining about us taking forever when you are just talking and not opening the door" nick complained hands full of different items
"why can't one of you do it! it's not my fault" matt restored
"none of us have hands if you can't already tell" chris defended
"whatever" matt mumbled as he grabbed his keys from his pants pocket, walking up to the front door and unlocking it for the group.
when they got inside they all three their stuff down on the floor and the various couch's around the living room.
"i love your house it's so cozy" emma complimented as she looked around admiring the house
"thank you! it's not huge but it's home" chris responded
emma and nick decided to go to nicks room while everyone else decided to get a snack. emma said she wasn't hungry and she wanted to finish this project as soon as they could.
a couple hours later and her and Nick where about half way done. they had gotten a snack an hour in and unfortunately for emma she didn't bump into matt.
because they were secret friends she wasn't just going to go into his room unannounced with hardly any reason.
emma was ready to pack her stuff up when nick randomly asked
"hey do you maybe want to stay the night? I mean you don't have to if you don't want to" nick trailed off
"no it's okay I will stay sure" emma smiled.
she wanted to stay but she didn't at the same time. however her and nick had gotten a long great.
