After a few more minutes of walking, Burchard stands at the doorstep of his apartment complex while saying, "alright, just wait here and I'll go grab the cd."
As he opens the door, and starts walking in, Miku follows suit while saying, "I don't trust that you might just leave me out here with no intention of returning it. Therefore I am coming in."
Surprised to hear this, he stops then looks back at her while asking, "seriously? You aren't worried about being alone in an apartment with a guy you barely know?"
To his continued surprise, she looks back at him with a smirk while saying, "I am not worried since I came prepared this time."
Unsure of what she meant, he quickly gets his answer when she pulls something out of her bag and holds it up to him while pressing a button which causes a mix of electricity and hissing sounds fill the hallway. Shocked to see this, he slowly takes a step back while putting his hands up and blurting out, "why do you have a taser?"
Seeing that she got her point across, she puts the taser back in her bag while responding, "after last night's incident, I decided that it is best to always be prepared, especially when I'm unable to use my singing."
Understanding why she would want that, he slowly lowers his hands but a bit confused by the last thing she said, he asks, "what do you mean by using your singing?"
She continued to look back at him smugly for a moment, until his question finally clicked in her head. Her smug look quickly turns to one of panic as she frantically responds, "well I know a few songs that work as good distractions! But I just didn't have the energy to properly sing them!"
Not exactly buying what sounded like a lie, he decided that it wasn't worth pursuing so he just shrugged it off then starts walking again while saying, "whatever you say, let's just get this over with."
Finally at his door, he starts pulling out his keys but as he was about to unlock it, he hears the sound of the door directly behind him creaking open which he pays no attention to, though he wasn't able to ignore Miku who asks, "uh... why is there a rabbit puppet staring at me?"
He was surprised to hear this, but as he turns around and sees the puppet in question, he remembers who it was then says, "oh hey Yoshinon."
Surprised to hear this, Miku continues to look at the puppet while asking, "uh.... You know this puppet?"
He nods but before he could respond, Yoshinon says, "hey lady! It's rude to stare!!!"
Shocked by the sudden outburst, Miku could only look back at Burchard, hoping for an explanation but becomes even more confused to see him seemingly unaffected by the strange puppet while stating, "Yoshinon is my neighbour."
He then looks over at the door while continuing, "and when there's Yoshinon, Yoshino isn't to far behind."
A bit confused as to who this Yoshino person was, Miku was going to ask but before she could, she notices the puppet looking into the apartment while stating, "yah hear that Yoshino! There talking about yah!"
All Miku could do at this point was stare curiously at the door until finally, it creaks open a bit and she was surprised to see a young girl with long blue hair and blue eyes wearing a white sundress stepping into the hall with the puppet on her hand. Surprised by how adorable the little girl was, Miku couldn't help but smile brightly while stating, "why hello miss."
She walks up to and kneels down so that she was now eye level with Yoshino while continuing, "it is a pleasure to make your acquaintance."
Though she tried to act as friendly as possible, Yoshino still seemed nervous since she backed away and while looking over at Burchard, she asks, "uh... Burchard? Who is this girl?"
Before he could respond, Yoshinon chimes in saying, "Yah! What's the big idea bringing home random ladies!"
A bit thrown off by being talked about in such away by a puppet, Miku decides it was best to simply ignore it while Burchard replies, "well she's technically not random, and she's only here to pick something up."
While continuing to smile, she stands up then adds, "that's right, I am only here to retrieve something that belongs to me then I shall be on my way."
For some strange reason, both Yoshino and Yoshinon stare blankly up at her until finally, the puppet looks over at Yoshino while saying, "I wonder what you know who will say when she finds out about this? Probably won't take it well!"
Shocked to hear this, Yoshino looks back at her while stating, "Yoshinon! You know that she isn't the type to overreact to such a simple thing."
A bit confused by what they were talking about, Miku couldn't help but ask, "may I ask what you are talking about?"
Shocked to realize that Miku had heard them, they both looked back at here wide eyed while Yoshino stammers, "uh.... Uh well, you see...."
Though she didn't know what to say, she was saved by Yoshinon who shouts in an over dramatic tone, "well would you look at the time! We need to get dinner ready so we should be going!"
She looks over at Yoshino while continuing, "right Yoshino?"
Following her lead, Yoshino frantically nods while saying, "right!"
They both then bow respectfully to her while simultaneously saying, "it was nice to meet you."
As they stood upright, they continued, "bye!"
With that, they both dart back into the apartment and slam the door behind them. All Miku could do at this point was stare blankly at the now closed door and says with confusion, "uh.... Goodbye?"
She then looks back at Burchard who stands at the open door of his apartment while saying, "you have very.... Unique neighbours."
All he could do was nod while responding, "yeah, everyone here has their own quirks."
He takes a step into his apartment while continuing, "now let's get this over with."
Now inside the relatively small apartment, Miku could only look around with a mix of intrigue and confusion while thinking, "strange, it is quite barren in here, he doesn't seem to have any family photos or many personal belongings...."
She looks over and watches him walk over to a sound system while continuing, "I wonder...."
Unfortunately for her, she sees, to her horror, him opening up the cd player and retrieving her disk. Shocked to see this, all she was really able to do was ask, "you listened to my music?"
Not thinking anything of it, he simply nods while replying, "yeah, is that a problem?"
With his answer only causing rage to build with in her, she snaps at him, "of course it is a problem! You have no right to listen to my music! No one does!"
A bit confused by her change in demeanour and sudden outburst, he walks up to and holds out the cd to her while saying, "sorry."
She quickly snatches it from his hand and while stuffing it into her bag, she continues her rant, "I cannot believe you! To think you would defile someone's private property!"
As she turns to storm out, she thinks, "I knew he was lying when he said he didn't know who I was! I have the most recognizable singing voice in Japan! He would have immediately known who I was just by listening to it."
Though as she got closer to the door, a sad feeling started to seep into her heart while continuing, "and to think, I was so happy to finally find someone who didn't know me."
She got to the door but before she could leave, she freezes in her step when she hears him say, "you have a beautiful singing voice by the way. You could probably go professional if you wanted to."
With her back turned to him, he was unable to see the look of utter shock quickly taking over her expression as she thinks, "hang on.... Why would someone who knows who I am say something like that?"
Becoming a bit concerned by her sudden stop in motion, Burchard walks up to her while asking, "uh Miku? Something wrong?"
Just before he got up to her, she suddenly spun around and looks back at him with a surprisingly bright smile while responding, "everything is perfectly fine!"
A bit thrown off by her sudden outburst, Burchard could only stare blankly at her while thinking, "what's up with this chick? Her mood swings are starting to give me whiplash."
While still smiling, Miku turns back to the door and says, "well since I have my belongings, I shall be going."
Hearing this seems to bring him back to reality and while walking up to the door, he says, "well I'm glad you got what you wanted."
Now outside his door, she thinks of something which causes her to look back at him while saying, "one more thing."
A bit surprised that there could be anything else she needed, he asks, "what is it?"
While looking a bit embarrassed, she reaches out her hand to him while asking, "please give me your phone."
Caught off guard by the request, he starts to look back at her suspiciously while asking, "why?"
A bit annoyed by his question, she demands, "just give me your phone!"
Yet again, he was caught off guard by her sudden outburst and realizing it was probably best to just comply, he pulls out his phone and hands it to her while responding, "here."
After taking the phone from him, he watches curiously as she pulls out her own and holds them close to each other. Confused as to what she was doing, he was about to ask, but before he could, he was surprised to hear both their phones chime simultaneously. Still confused as to what was going on, he didn't have to wait long for an answer when she hands his phone back while stating, "there! We have exchanged numbers."
Caught off guard by this, he looks down at his phone only to see her name in his quite barren contacts and as he looks back at her, he was finally able to ask, "why did we exchange numbers?"
Seemingly caught off guard by the question, her cheeks turn ever so slightly flush while replying, "it should be obvious. I need to be able to contact you if you happen to find any more of my belongings!"
For some strange reason, this doesn't seem to help his confusion since he asks, "hang on, why would I ever find any of your belongings?"
Instead of answering, she simply turns away and starts walking down the hall while saying, "well I shall be off! Goodbye Burchard!"
All he could really do at this point was stare at her blankly as she for some reason happily continues to walk and pays no attention to the pair of twins she passes in the hall and exits the building while saying to herself quietly, "hehe, I have a feeling we shall have a very unique relationship Burchard."
Meanwhile back in the hall, Burchard continues to look at where Miku had left while thinking, "why do I get the feeling I'll be seeing her again?"
Deciding it was best not to think about this, he decided to simply shrug it off and when he sees Yuzuru and Kaguya walking towards him, he forgets all about the strange situation and starts to smile while saying, "hey you two, how was your after-school time together?"
For some strange reason, both of them stayed quiet which in itself wasn't a big deal to him but he becomes confused when he sees Kaguya looking over at her sister with quite a nervous look while Yuzuru stared back at him with an unflinching gaze. With a chill caused by her gaze running down his spine, she becomes nervous while thinking to himself, "she seems mad? But why?"
As they continue to get closer, Burchard tries his best to smile back at her innocently while asking, "uh.... What's up Yuzuru?"
Wether she didn't hear the question or simply didn't care to answer doesn't seem to matter since when they both come to a stop in front of him, he notices the dark aura that radiates off of Yuzuru while she continues to glare at him and asks, "question: who was that girl?"
Surprised that that was what she was asking about, he looks back at her a bit confused while scratching the back of his head and replying, "uh.... It's kind of a long story?"
Unfazed by the response, she crosses her arms while responding, "rebuttal: Yuzuru has plenty of time for you to explain."
Again, he was surprised to hear this but before he could respond, a very nervous sounding Kaguya chimes in, "well unfortunately for me I don't!"
She starts walking to her apartment while continuing, "so I'll be going! See you later!"
Now alone in the hallway, Yuzuru continues to glare at him and realizing that he had no other choice, he responds, "so yesterday I saved that girl from some creep in an alley and after she took off, I happened to pick up a cd she had dropped, then today after school, she was waiting for me outside the gate and ended up coming over to get the cd back."
After listening to his response intently, she for some reason sighs in relief then with her expression softening, she starts to smile back at him while saying, "Confirmation: though she was uncertain at first, Yuzuru had a feeling that her presence was due to your kindness and nothing more."
A bit confused by her reaction, he wanted to ask what she meant by this but before he could, she continues," and as far as Yuzuru is concerned, your kindness is one of your best traits."
Caught off guard by the sudden compliment, he couldn't help but go a bit red and while looking away to hide his embarrassment, he responds, "oh.... Well I'm happy to hear that."
Seeing his reaction only causes her smile to grow while thinking, "Confirmation: his reaction to being complimented is quite adorable."
Though she wanted to continue to enjoy his adorable reaction, she remembered a more pressing matter at hand, so she walks past him while continuing to smile while saying, "confirmation: though she doesn't have time at the moment...."
She pauses in front of her door then while looking back at him, she winks while continuing, "Yuzuru looks forward to learning your other good traits."
For some reason that was unknown to him, seeing this causes him to just stand there speechless while going wide eyed whilst his heart practically skips a beat. Again she loved seeing his reaction to this but turns and opens her door while saying, "farewell: goodbye Burchard."
With that, she walks into her apartment and closes the door behind her while all Burchard could really do at the moment was stand there though he was finally able to say, "uh... bye."
Finally getting back to his senses, he walks back into his room while asking himself, "what was that feeling? Yeah, she's cute and all but why did my heart race that fast?"
With a thought coming to mind, he just shrugs it off while continuing, "she just caught me off guard, I can't possibly be falling for a girl I barely know."
Meanwhile, Yuzuru stands silently in her apartment, but with a feeling of dread weighing down her chest, she thinks, "suspicion: that girl.... Yuzuru got a strange feeling from her, unlike any normal girl she has met though it was a familiar feeling.... But what could it be?"
After thinking about it for a moment, a shocking realization comes over her as she continues out loud, "that girl.... could she be.... Infatuated with him too? Is she trying to steal Burchard from Yuzuru?"
With a feeling of determination growing within her, Yuzuru raises fist to her chest while saying, "determination: Yuzuru will not lose her dear Burchard to her!"
