Hayun stood in the lobby of their company building, her eyes scanning the entrance eagerly. She adjusted her hair, anticipation bubbling within her as she waited for Jisung.

Suddenly, the doors parted, and there he was, tall and captivating, with a beanie on his head, and a black jacket around him. Their eyes met, and a smile spread across her face as he started to walk towards her.

"Ready for another day of practice?" She asked when he reached her, his eyes gazed down at her since he was significantly taller than her but she thought he still looked cute.

"Yeah." He nodded. "Are you?"
"I'm still half asleep." She told him, her hand reached out to clasp around his arm to turn him around, now facing the direction of the cafe. "What are you going to get, hot chocolate?" She asked as she started walking.
"Probably." He laughed airily, knowing he wouldn't get coffee.

He followed her towards the cafe, noticing the small pink ribbon tied in her half up ponytail. A small smile tugged on his lips, he found it nice, a delicate detail to a hairstyle but he thought it went well, matching her sweater.

It was still early, but not too early that the whole building was empty. It was mostly staff, a few trainees who had come at the break of dawn.

Regardless, Jisung and Hayun were the only two who entered the cafe that morning. The place was spotless and the soft hum of music drowned out in the background as Hayun began to tell Jisung about how she still felt unsure about the performance.

"I think I'll have to practice with Wonbin more...but I feel bad for having to ask him to do extra." She confessed guiltily, a small frown appearing on her glossy pink lips.

"Don't feel bad...I'm sure he will be okay practicing more to help you." Jisung reasoned, not really seeing why Wonbin wouldn't help her. She looked troubled though, a look of hesitancy at the thought of asking someone to practice with her.

That struck Jisung with confusion because she often asked him to help her.

She gave her head a shake as if to rid her mind of the thoughts distracting her, they stood ready to order, waiting for the barista.

"Did you eat breakfast?" He asked, hoping it came out casual and not weird or anything. She hummed questioningly as she took her card out in her wallet, turning her attention to him.

"I was just asking...if you...if you had breakfast already?" He repeated, swallowing down the subtle nerves he felt.

"Oh, no I haven't." She said, knowing she didn't really tend to eat breakfast. Jisung's eyes scanned the variety of pastries, ignoring the way she was staring at him.
"The pastries look good here, should we try some? I haven't eaten breakfast yet either." He told her.

Hayun blinked in surprise at Jisung's suggestion, her initial reluctance melting away at the sight of his face, waiting for her to respond.

She glanced at the display of pastries, her stomach grumbling softly in agreement. "Sure, why not," she replied, a hint of regret lingering in her voice, a flash of guilt on her face.

Jisung nodded, his lips curling into a small, satisfied smile at her acceptance. He approached the counter, scanning the array of pastries before deciding what he wanted.
"I'll get these," he said, turning back to Hayun.

She nodded in agreement, her gaze flitting between the pastries and Jisung's earnest expression.
"I'll get the same too." she decided, not wanting to put too much thought into it because she would back out, instead stepping forward to join him at the counter.

As they waited for their order, Jisung couldn't help but steal glances at Hayun. He wondered why she didn't eat much, he had a very good guess as to why but at the thought of her struggling, he couldn't imagine it.

She was always so positive and assertive that he assumed she was doing okay. But lately, he began to see cracks in the facade.

When their pastries arrived, Jisung handed Hayun her muffin with a small, shy smile. "Here you go," he said softly, his cheeks flushing slightly at the brush of their hands from the gesture.

They took their food and drinks and headed to sit on an empty table.

"Thank you," Hayun replied, smiling at him.
She took a small bite, savoring the sweet burst of flavour on her tongue. Glancing up at Jisung, she found him watching her with a mixture of curiosity and concern.

"Is it good?" he asked tentatively, his eyes searching her face for any sign of discomfort.

Hayun nodded, a smile tugging at the corners of her lips.
"It's really good." She assured him. She appreciated his subtle gesture of kindness, his quiet encouragement nudging her towards a healthier lifestyle.

She wasn't stupid, she knew he was aware of her lack of eating. She hated the fact people could see it, even her members.

She didn't want to worry anyone, she also felt ashamed of it so she wouldn't tell anyone directly of her struggles, instead she downplayed it.

"So, how are you feeling about the concert?" Jisung asked, his voice gentle as he struck up conversation.

Hayun fidgeted with her coffee cup, her gaze fixed on the swirling patterns in the foam.
"Honestly, I'm really nervous. It's our first major concert overseas, and the pressure is starting to get to me." She admitted, a breakthrough in her confident mask.

"I get it." He nodded understandingly. "It's a big deal...it can be scary. But remember, you've worked hard for that moment and you'll definitely enjoy yourself too, it's a lot of fun."

Hayun sighed, a knot of tension slowly unraveling in her chest as she listened to Jisung's reassuring words.
"I know, but what if something goes wrong? What if I mess up on stage? I'm not that good."

Jisung's expression displayed a frown, one which tugged down at his lips and a flash of concern passed through his gaze. His eyes flickered around her features as she looked down at her cup.

It was clear to see the uncertainty and stress she was facing, she wasn't confident at all.

"You won't mess up Hayun...trust me," he begins and she lifts her gaze to lock with his.

He didn't look away in that moment like he normally would, his eyes were reassuring and so was his voice. He smiled as he spoke and she couldn't help but feel eased looking into his eyes and listening to his words.

"I've seen you perform, you're really good. I'm not sure what you've seen or heard...but you should be nicer to yourself. I think you'll do great."

Hayun managed a small smile, grateful for Jisung's support but in that moment, she really felt like crying.
"Thanks, Jisung. I needed to hear that. It's just..." there it was, she hesitated again.

It was like her heart was ready to just spill but her brain told her not to.
The way he was looking at her, waiting for her to continue made her want to.

In the end, she chose not to open up.

"Hey, we should get going it's nearly time." She said, realising their practice was really soon. His gaze drew over to his phone, eyes widening a little.
"Oh- we should go." He stood up, grabbing the empty wrapper and his cup.

As they left the cozy atmosphere of the cafe and stepped into the bustling lobby of their company building, Hayun felt a pang of disappointment that she hadn't been able to fully open up to Jisung. But the weight of her own insecurities still felt too heavy to bear, even in the comfort of his presence.

Jisung, on the other hand, couldn't shake the feeling that there was more to Hayun's worries than she was letting on. Her hesitance to confide in him only fueled his concern, but he knew better than to push her too hard. He didn't want to become annoying.

They walked in silence, the sound of their footsteps echoing softly against the polished floors as they made their way to the practice room. Jisung stole glances at Hayun, his mind still mulling over their earlier conversation.

She looked distracted too, sad even.

"Hayun," he began tentatively, breaking the silence between them. "I know you said you're nervous about the concert, but if there's anything else on your mind...you can talk to me about it. I...I can be here for you as your friend."

Hayun glanced up at him, a mixture of surprise and gratitude flickering in her eyes. She opened her mouth to respond, but the words caught in her throat, a lump forming as she struggled to articulate her thoughts.

"Don't really know where to start." She mumbled quietly, but he didn't have chance to respond because she then smiled at him and moved closer towards him.

Her arm slipped through his own, startling him. His brain must've short circuited because there were no thoughts to even form.

With their arms linked, she tugged him with her, saying something about how late they were about to be.

All Jisung knew was that his chest felt like it was on fire.

In the dance studio, Hayun and Wonbin were immersed in their practice, rehearsing their steps for an upcoming performance. The room was alive with the pulsating rhythm of the music, driving their movements as they tried to perfect each motion.

Despite her focus on the routine, Hayun couldn't help but steal glances over at Jisung and Yeri, who were practicing nearby. Her heart sank as she watched them laughing and smiling together, their easy friendship evident even from a distance.

A pang of jealousy gnawed at her as she wished she were the one paired with Jisung.

But instead, she was here with Wonbin, a talented dancer and a good friend, but not the one she truly wanted to be with.

She tried to push aside her feelings of envy, focusing instead on the steps before her. She gave Wonbin a reassuring smile as he asked if she was okay.

Was she?

She knew she had a crush on Jisung but she didn't think it was this serious...

As the practice session came to an end, Hayun tried to shake off her feelings as she joined the others in gathering their belongings.

As Hayun gathered her belongings, she noticed Jisung approaching, his easy smile lighting up his face as he joined her side. She couldn't help but feel a flutter of anticipation in her chest at his presence, even as she struggled to push aside her feelings of jealousy.

"Hey, how did it go?" Jisung asked, his voice warm with genuine interest as he glanced at her.

"It's going good," Hayun replied, forcing a smile despite the turmoil swirling inside her.

Wonbin was really good but Hayun was messing up on a few minor details and she felt so guilty.

But Jisung didn't seem entirely convinced by her response, his brow furrowing slightly as he studied her.
"Are you sure? You look...sad."

Hayun hesitated, her gaze flickering to the ground as she struggled to find the right words.
"I'm fine, really. Just a bit tired, I guess."

She glanced over towards where the dance teachers were discussing something with Wonbin, Jisung's attention also directed that way.

Jisung didn't press further, but his concern was evident in the gentle curve of his lips as he spoke.

"Do you....do you want me to stay and practice more with you? I can help if you need it."

Hayun's heart skipped a beat at his offer, a rush of gratitude washing over her. She hadn't expected him to offer his assistance, especially considering the dynamics of their group.

Jisung wasn't her partner.

"Would that be okay?" she asked, feeling bad that she always needed his help.

Jisung nodded, his smile on his lips, one of reassurance.
"Of course."
"You're my favourite person in this whole world Jisung." She gushed, hope gleaming in her eyes as she had her hands on each of his arms. "I'm going to let you be Mario everytime."

"Really?"
"Okay...maybe not everytime." She retracted her statement. "But still."

He laughed and her own humoured smile appeared. She reached down to grab her bag, looking at him.
"Should we find an empty room?"
"Yeah." He agreed.

As Hayun and Jisung made their way through the bustling corridors of the practice building, they stumbled upon an empty dance room tucked away in a quiet corner. Hayun's eyes lit up with excitement at the discovery, a smile spreading across her face as she turned to Jisung.

"Look, a free room! We should practice here." she suggested, her voice filled with enthusiasm.

Jisung's lips stretched into a smile at her enthusiasm as he followed her inside, the sound of their footsteps echoing softly against the polished floors. The room was bathed in soft, warm light, casting a cozy glow over the space as they stepped onto the smooth dance floor.

"Okay..." he started as they get settled. "Let's start from the beginning of your dance?"

Hayun nodded eagerly, her eyes bright with anticipation as she prepared to learn from her friend.

He was a natural teacher, patient and encouraging, his gentle guidance helping Hayun to grasp the choreography more easily than she had expected.

It wasn't that her dance with Wonbin was bad, it was more that it wasn't as good as the original. Hayun just doubted herself in doing well.

Even though she got along with Wonbin, it was slightly awkward when practicing some of the moves, especially when it wasn't perfect and the instructor would call out on it.

As they moved together, a subtle tension simmered beneath the surface, one none of them would bring up, thinking the other felt nothing.

Jisung's hand was warm, enveloping over hers as she turned. She wasn't one to become flustered, actually she couldn't remember a time when she was.

But right now, she definitely was.

Hayun was glad Jisung was so focused on the dance he didn't realise the flush on her cheeks.

With each step and each turn, Hayun felt herself growing more confident, her movements becoming more fluid and graceful under Jisung's expert advice.

She couldn't help but marvel at the way he seemed to instinctively understand her, his guidance tailored to her individual needs as a dancer.

But eventually, the music faded away, leaving them standing in the soft glow of the dance room.

Hayun smiled up at Jisung, her eyes shining with gratitude.
"Thank you for helping me, Jisung...really."
"It's okay." He replied to her, happy that he could help.

"I'll buy your food." She told him and in surprise, he shook his head.
"What, no-"
"I'm doing it anyway," she said. "I'm sure today is your favourite too. Come on."

"You aren't buying my food." He said, shaking his head again, the proposal was absurd to him. She didn't need to do that.
"Why?" She asked, the two of them walking to the door and she turned around to face him while walking backwards.

"Because...you don't need to."
"I know that silly, I want to. Out of the kindness of my heart." She emphasised, hand on chest. He couldn't help but smile at her exaggeration but again shook his head.

"Who turns down free food?" She asked, raising her eyebrows. "You're strange Andy."
"But you don't need to pay for my food, I only helped you with a few dance moves."
"You literally help me more than anyone, come on- don't turn me down or I'll get sad."

Since she was walking backwards and had no sense of what was behind her, Jisung's reflexes kicked in when he saw how close to walking into the door she was.

He had reached forward to grab her wrist, stopping her from colliding with the door. Now she had stopped, he glanced down only to see her looking up at him with an expression that only heated up his chest.

It was a cute pleading expression, one that caught him off guard and one that made his ears red.

Hayun was usually the one helping others, at home she did a lot for her siblings and she rarely had anyone help her since her Mum left. She felt the need to pay Jisung back for his help.

Her hand grasped his from when he let go of her wrist, keeping him there so his attention wouldn't shift.

"Listen, don't be stubborn or I will tell everyone your secrets."
"You don't know my secrets though?" He questioned, breathing out a laugh of disbelief.
"I'll find out don't worry. Now, let's go."

Jisung knew he would lose against Hayun, and that's how they ended up in the cafeteria with her paying for his food.

"Are you not eating?" He asked her after seeing how she didn't make a move to get her own food and she shook her head, opening her mouth to say something but he had cut her off. "You should eat something since you've been dancing all day."

"I'll eat later, let's go sit over there before someone gets the table." She said, turning around and starting to walk with his tray of food towards the table.

Hayun thought he was following so when she put the tray down at the table and glanced behind her to see no one there, she turned around to look for him.

Jisung couldn't just sit and eat and have her just watch, he was becoming concerned for her, more so when he noticed her swaying a little earlier and shutting her eyes tightly like she was dizzy.

He was paying for food, her food.

When he returned, Hayun was staring at him and he anxiously awaited her angry rant at him or something.

What he didn't expect was her eyes to be glossy, a small frown on her lips and a tear to trace down her pretty face when she tried to blink it away.

She quickly brushed it away and sat down, thankful for the fact this booth was the furthest down and no one could really see her. Hayun pressed her hands against her eyes.

She heard the clattering of the tray on the table but she didn't hear him sit.
"Why...why are you crying?" His voice wavered slightly, surprised and unsure of what to do.

"Because," she spoke in a complaining tone but she didn't expand on the matter.

Honestly, Hayun wasn't sure why exactly she was crying. It was just a mix of everything but she had realised the small ways in which Jisung was taking care of her and it made her feel...well she didn't know.

She really didn't need anyone to take care of her, she never really did. She was always the one taking care of others, so why did she need someone to do the same for her?

Being like this, being taking care of in even the smallest of ways made her vulnerable, as if she was a kid again and her Mother still held her hand when crossing the street.

It made her feel like she needed someone to take care of her and she didn't want that, not when she spent so many years figuring life out herself, not when she spent so many years as a carer.

Since when did I cry in front of people?

She wasn't sobbing, only a couple of tears had broken past the barrier but she still felt embarrassed by it. She hadn't really cried properly yet but the few tears made her feel sadder than ever.

Hayun was paying for his food because it felt natural to her to do something nice when someone did a favour for her. She paid without hesitation because that's what she used to do with her siblings.

Jisung getting her food and paying for it was not what she thought would happen, it wasn't something that happened.

God, why is everything piling up

It felt like all she had been pushing away was starting to press against her heart, threatening to overspill.

"Hayun?" His concerned voice only made her want to just run away but she didn't.

He felt guilty, he wondered if he overstepped somehow.

"I'm sorry, I-" he began to apologise but she finally put down her hands and looked up at him.
"No, I'm sorry." She shook her head, wiping away any tears that could've fell. "I'm just, I don't know."

He finally sat down the other side from her, his gaze full of worry.
"What's wrong?" He asked, something must've happened.

She didn't say anything at first, almost like she was contemplating it.

"You..." she began, making him panic because he was the source of her tears. "You're really kind Jisung."

"Is that why you're crying?" He was confused.
"It just made me feel...feel weird you getting me food when I said I wasn't hungry."

"Weird..." he trailed off, wondering if by weird she meant upset since she was crying. But then he wondered if by weird she meant she felt touched by it.

"Good or bad?" He asked her to clarify.
"Good." She replied after thinking about it.

She wasn't really sure why she even started crying though.

Hayun looked like she was deep in thought, missing how Jisung reached forward to put her tray in front of her.

There was a silence but he didn't mind. He never really did mind. Hayun must've felt a little thirsty since she reached for her new water bottle, attempting to unscrew the lid.

She struggled, her brows furrowing but it seemed like she didn't have enough energy or strength to open it.

Jisung watched her, knowing he could open it but he hesitated because he wasn't sure if she wanted him to help.

Ultimately, he held out his hand towards her.
"I can try." He offered and she nodded, handing it over to him. When he unscrewed the lid, he handed it back to her carefully. "Here."
"Thanks." She said, taking it from him and having a few sips of water.

Hayun watched as he began to eat, her eyes drifting to her own food in front of her. It did look really good, the food always looked good.

She again looked at Jisung, thinking there is literally no flaw to this man because he literally got her food. It didn't seem like a big thing but to her it was.

Hayun started to eat, she wasn't a fast eater either so when Jisung noticed she was eating, he didn't say anything but he slowed down himself. He felt happy that she was eating, he didn't want her to fall sick or faint.

It was important to eat especially as a performer always practicing and dancing, it cost a lot of energy.

"It made me think about how long it's been since someone has done something like that for me." She said suddenly, she wasn't looking at him when she was talking, instead she looked down at her food. "I'm usually the one taking care of my siblings, buying them food or making them food. I don't know...I must've thought about that. It just felt weird. I didn't mean to cry."

"I don't think most people mean to cry, it happens. It's okay..." he paused. "You're a kind person too, taking care of your siblings must've been hard. I should've still asked before getting you food, I'm sorry."

A smile made its way to her lips, breaking the sadness in the air.
"Stop, you're making me rethink letting you be Mario from now on. Don't apologise." She narrowed her eyes, pointing her chopsticks at him. "And don't tell people I cried, it ruins my reputation." She joked.

He couldn't help but laugh, yet still nodding along.
"Okay, I won't. Is this your secret then?"
"Yeah, and don't worry I'll find out your secrets soon enough."

"I don't have many secrets." He laughed.
"Really?" Hayun tilted her head. "Okay...look into my eyes and I'll figure your secret out." Hayun leant forward, looking at him but he leant back, shocked.

"W-what," he breathed out a laugh but it didn't sound so real. "Why do you need to look into my eyes for it?"
"I like your eyes."

His lips parting and flush to his cheeks only made Hayun's lips grow into a smile of mischief.
"Are you blushing?"
"N-no, what. Stop it." He told her, hearing her laughing.

"No, you're totally blushing Ji." Hayun said, unable to stop smiling. "You look so cute."

"Oh my god." He muttered, standing up abruptly and grabbing his empty tray. Jisung walked off towards the trash station to put his tray away.

Hayun remained seated, wondering if he'd return. She didn't look back to see if he would, instead she waited.

After a minute or so, she heard someone approaching before they stopped next to the table.

Hayun turned her head, looking up at the tall figure.
"I wasn't blushing...you just say weird things."
"Okay." She said, her voice not teasing but still he felt like he needed to defend himself.

"Really, I wasn't." Jisung sat back down, glancing at her food which she had half of. "Are you not eating anymore?"
"I'm full." She said, feeling discomfort. "Have you got practice?"

"Yeah...it's starting soon. Have you?"
"Only a short one then I'm going home. You must have a long practice today with all those performances you're doing for smtown."
"Yeah." He sighed. "But the concert is soon, we're leaving in a few days."

Hayun nodded, thinking about travelling.
"I've never travelled far."
"Really?"
"Yeah, never been in a plane. Is it scary?"
"It isn't that scary, the set off might be a little but after a while it's okay." He told her, thinking back to the times he's been on a plane.

Then he checked his phone again, looking at the time.
"I better go before I'm late." He said and Hayun nodded, also standing up.
"Same. Let's go."

"Hey. Look at that." Jeno nudged Jaemin upon seeing Jisung and Hayun walking out the cafeteria together.

"Oh my, they're so cute!" Jaemin gushed.

The atmosphere in the fitting room was buzzing with excitement as Everlast, the rising K-pop girl group, gathered for their outfit fittings the next day.

Hayun, Seola, Hana, Akari, and Suyin chatted amongst themselves, eagerly anticipating the unveiling of their new stage outfits. As they settled into their chairs, the door swung open, and in walked a few girls.

Hayun's eyes widened in surprise as she recognized the members of Aespa. She had admired their performances from afar and couldn't believe they were here. She had briefly spoken to Winter but weren't close to them.

Seola, who was already friends with Aespa, greeted them with a warm smile.
"Hey, girls! What are you doing here?"

Karina returned Seola's smile, her demeanor friendly and approachable. "We're here for our outfit fittings. How about you?"

"We're here for the same reason," Seola replied, gesturing to her fellow Everlast members. "It's nice to see you all again. Been wondering where you all went."

As introductions were made, the room filled with laughter and excitement, the ice quickly melting between the two groups. Hayun couldn't help but feel a sense of admiration for the members of Aespa, their confidence and charisma shining through even in this casual setting.

As they tried on their stage outfits, the conversation flowed effortlessly, with topics ranging from music to fashion to life as idols. Despite being from different groups, they found common ground in their shared experiences and aspirations.

As the fitting session drew to a close, Hayun found herself feeling surprisingly at ease in the company of Aespa. Despite being starstruck at first, she realized that they were just like her, passionate about music and dedicated to their work.

Before parting ways, Hana extended an invitation to Aespa.
"Hey, why don't we grab dessert together after this? If you're free."

Karina exchanged a glance with her fellow Aespa members before nodding enthusiastically.
"Yes that sounds like a great idea! We'd love to join you."

After their outfit fittings, Everlast and Aespa reconvened at a nearby place for dessert, the lively chatter continuing as they settled into their seats.

Seola led the conversation, effortlessly bridging the gap between the two groups as they exchanged stories and shared laughs. Hayun found herself drawn to Ningning, Aespa's vocalist, whose warm smile and easygoing demeanor put her at ease.

"So, how did you all get into K-pop?" Akari asked, her curiosity piqued as she sipped her drink.

"For me, it was a dream I've had since I was a little girl. I grew up watching K-pop idols on TV and knew that's what I wanted to do with my life." Winter spoke first.

Giselle nodded in agreement.
"Same here. I've always been passionate about music, and when I discovered K-pop, I knew it was the perfect fit for me."

As the conversation continued, they discovered more similarities between their journeys, from their love of performing to the challenges they faced as trainees and now as idols.

Before they knew it, hours had passed, and the café was beginning to empty out as the afternoon rush subsided. But their conversation showed no signs of slowing down, each member of both groups eager to learn more about their newfound friends.

As the conversation flowed around them, Hayun found herself drawn to Ningning, the youngest member of Aespa, who sat across from her at the table. Ningning's bright eyes sparkled with curiosity, and Hayun couldn't help but be intrigued by the energy that radiated from her.

"I love your earrings." Hayun complimented and Ningning smiled widely.
"Thanks girl, you're so pretty."
"Coming from you, you're literally gorgeous."
"Okay, I think this is where we kiss." Ningning joked and Hayun nodded eagerly.

The two laughed, glad they were on the same level of humour.
"Hey, I've seen you with Jisung a lot. You guys seem close."
"Oh, yeah. We're friends, he's helped me quite a lot with my dancing."
"Really? That's so cute I love it."

"Hayun, are you excited for the hot and cold performance?" Karina asked, smiling at the younger girl.
"Yeah, definitely. I can't believe they chose me for it." Hayun smiled happily.

Seola leant in towards her, pinching her cheek.
"You're the best fit babe."

It was so easy to talk to each other, they all got along well. Since they were around the same age they didn't find it hard to bond and the afternoon was spent laughing and gossiping.

"Wait, girls- give me your numbers." Giselle spoke up to the all.
"Yes, wait let's all exchange numbers." Akari agreed.

Whilst the girls were exchanging numbers, Ningning nudged Hayun and leant in closer.
"Chenle says...you like Jisung. Is it true?" She whispered.

Hayun's eyes widened.
"He told you that?"
"That's what he thinks..."
"God, is it that obvious?" Hayun muttered and Ningning laughed and nodded.
"When you guys are together you're practically heart eyes." Ningning teased. "Don't worry, no one else knows. I think you both look cute together by the way."

There were only two days left until Hayun left for Tokyo and she was feeling anxious. She had some time to see Jiho tonight since he wasn't working so they met in the lobby of the dorm building.

It was a nice atmosphere and they were out of the way of her members since Jiho didn't really want to meet them due to his introverted nature.

As Jisung walked through the lobby of the apartment building, exhaustion weighing heavy on his shoulders after a long day of practice, he couldn't help but feel a sense of relief wash over him.

All he wanted was to get home, collapse onto his my bed, and maybe binge-watch a few episodes of his favorite drama to unwind.

But as he rounded the corner, his footsteps faltered, and his heart skipped a beat at the sight before him. There, sitting in the lobby, was Hayun, her laughter ringing out like music in the air as she talked happily with a boy who looked vaguely familiar.

Jisung's breath caught in his throat as a surge of emotion swept through him, his mind racing with irrational thoughts and insecurities.

Who was this guy?
Did she have a boyfriend that he didn't know about?

What the hell Jisung?

He tried to shake off the feeling, reminding him that Hayun was free to talk to whoever she wanted. But the sight of them together, so carefree and comfortable in each other's presence, gnawed at him.

With a heavy sigh, he forced himself to continue walking, pretending not to notice as he stole glances at them out of the corner of his eye. They seemed completely engrossed in their conversation, oblivious to the turmoil raging inside him.

But then, as if sensing his presence, Hayun looked up, her eyes meeting Jisung's across the lobby. For a brief moment, their gazes locked, and he could see the confusion and concern flickering in her eyes.

Jisung quickly averted his gaze, feeling a flush of embarrassment heat his cheeks and he kept walking.

He was barely a good friend to Hayun, why would he feel so jealous over someone he didn't know.

This is stress
Let's call so I don't go insane 🥰

lol okay...but u dont need to pack too much
i usually dont

😨😨😨😨😨😨😨 im scared
so I'm calling u

"I thought you were calling me?"

"I am."

"It's...FaceTime call though?"

"Oh right, you can't see my face. Sorry I was getting my suitcase out."

"Hey, oh. Excuse my headband I was taking my makeup off. What happened to your hand?"

"Oh...it's nothing bad. It just hurts so I thought I'd put this on so it doesn't get injured more."

"You should be careful Ji. You can't play games with me if you hurt yourself."

"I guess you're right."
He laughs

"Why are you stressing over packing though?"

"Because it's stressful?"

"Don't tell me you're the type to just throw things in last minute?"

"Not last minute. Jaemin does that."

"Really, he seems like a put together type of guy?"

"Well he does it last minute but doesn't forget anything."

"I wanna be like that."

"Hey, I have something I want to show you."

"Hm?"

"Wait, let me turn the light off."

"Here, look."

"Woah, wait isn't that-"

"Yeah! It's the same thing I got you. Well it's a different planet. My cousin, he got it for me."

"Speaking of, I saw you in the lobby earlier when I was with him. Did you only finish practice then?"

"Your cousin?"

"Yeah, I was with him in the lobby. I thought you saw us?"

"Oh..."

"Oh right, yeah. I did. That's really nice of him to get you that."

"Right? When I was picking one for you I was asking him which one was the best and I said I wanted one so he must've gotten it after that."

"Now we have matching space lights."

"Wait, let me put mine on too."

"Renjun said he was jealous of it, it looks really good."

"Maybe I'll get you one for every birthday then you'll have the whole solar system."

"Really? That would be so cool though."

"You're such a space nerd, it's so cute."

"Hey, wait you like space too?"

"Yeah, but still."

"Weren't you going to pack?"

"Right, yeah. Okay...we're going for how many days again?"

"Performing for two but we will be there probably...five days."

"Is Tokyo nice? Akari said it is."

"Yeah, it's really pretty there. I haven't really travelled around though. I usually just stay in the hotel room."

"What, why?"

"I don't know...I just prefer being inside."

"Jisung, you're missing out on memories. I would say I'd drag you out but I can't. Unless you wanna get into a dating scandal?"

"No, no, I don't."
He shakes his head, laughing incredulously.

"Dating scandals are the worst..."

"Have you been in one?"

"Well, not a scandal. But I guess fans ship a lot of idols together."

"I know I've seen a lot of people shipping Hana and Renjun from that TikTok they did."

"Oh, yeah I think I saw that."

"I don't think I've been shipped though, not that I've seen any."

"I mean you can't really escape it...it will probably happen."

"I guess you're right...we'll see what happens."

"I'm definitely taking my switch with me. Mario doesn't stop in Korea."

"I should take mine too."

"Yes, make sure you pack it!"

"I don't think I'll fall asleep on the plane, I might just watch movies."

"I usually watch movies. I find it hard to sleep places other than a bed."

"Wait, I don't think I'll be able to sleep properly in a hotel room. I'm weird like it took me long to even sleep in this dorm."

"Really?"

"I think...you might be tired enough from performing that you'll crash asleep."

"Hopefully."

"I was going to see my family tomorrow but I have practices."

"All day?"

"Not all day but they haven't said how long they'll take."

"Don't worry, hopefully you'll be able to see them."

"That reminds me..."
He chuckles at the memory

"Do you remember that time at the store?"

"The store?"

"It was a while ago."

"We saw each other at the store and you were looking for candy for your brother-"

"Oh my god! Yeah!"
She gasps

"I remember that. And you helped me find it. You were literally a lifesaver, my brother would've cried more if I didn't find it."

"How old is he?"

"He's 7, 8 this year."

"He must be cute. I don't think I have any close family, like cousins that age."

"Does your brother have a girlfriend?"

"A girlfriend? Yeah...they've been together a while."

"Then maybe you'll be an uncle soon. Imagine that, Uncle Jisung."

Jisung made a face of disgust.
"I can't imagine that. I can't imagine him having kids anytime soon either."

Hayun laughs at his expression, her headband that pushed her hair back made her look cute even over the phone.

"Okay, I need to pack my laptop so I can watch movies and stuff. Also clothes, hey look at these pyjamas I have."

Jisung looks at the screen, his lips tugging in a smile at the sight of her starry patterned pyjama set.

"It's cute isn't it?"

"It is cute. How many space themed pyjamas do you have?"

"So many. But they're all super cute. Here, let me show you."

"I'm gonna get you some space pyjamas too."

"You know, I actually don't have any."

"That's actually a crime."

"I was thinking...you know in the airport when there's all those cameras and fans around, is it scary? It looks really scary."

"It is."

"I get scared a lot. They can be really aggressive. Hopefully you will have bodyguards around to stop anyone getting close."

"I'm nervous...I feel like it would be claustrophobic. I see videos of it and it makes me feel sick."

"Don't worry, I'm sure it will be okay. Just stick by your members, put some music on that's what I do."

"Okay...yeah, I'm sure it will be okay."

"But I can't believe this is happening. Going abroad to perform. I feel like a superstar or something."

"You are though...you'll be performing in front of so many people. You did say you want to shine on stage right?"

"Yeah, like..."

"Like a star?"

She smiles.
"Like a star."

"You will, Hayun."

"Are you tired by the way?"

"Me? No, not really. Are you?"

"Yeah. Do you wanna sing me a lullaby?"

She grinned watching his expression.

"A lullaby?"

"Yeah, why not?"

He laughed, shaking his head.

"I've never sang a lullaby I don't think I ever will."

"Suit yourself Andy."

"Oh wait, wanna hear something?"

"Sure."

"You know...you're actually out of this world."

"Me?"

"Why do you look so shocked, yeah you."

"Because you're an alien."

She didn't think it was that funny but Jisung certainly did, he laughed so much that she couldn't help but start laughing too.

Despite Hayun having felt so anxious about what was to come, Jisung unknowingly made it all better.
