And just like that August just passed by. For that whole month, all I did was promote my book and it did well. It took the world by storm and I also became the number 1 best-selling author for that month. At the age of 10, that feat is amazing. I experienced a lot for that month, I got to be guested with many TV morning and evening shows. Although all of it was just online, it was a bewildering experience for me. August felt like a dream.
"Everyone, today we have a young author who's brought everyone by storm! We are honored to be in the presence of the author of "When the confetti falls"! Please welcome, Charlotte!" The male evening host introduced me
"Thank you everyone for the warm welcome! I am very excited to meet you all."
"We are also very excited to meet you, Charlotte. I am also one of your readers or should I say dreamers? Hahaha, So first of all why did you name your readers' dreamers? among all of those names that were submitted to you."
"It's something that resonated with me the most. I have always been a dreamer and to be able to dream is like a spark of light in our paths in life. So being a dreamer connects us from each other and to our hopes in life."
"That's very touching Charlotte, I am so touched. For a 10-year-old turning 11 this year right?"
"Yep, that's correct."
"For an age like that, you think so open already. What do you think is the reason you became a person who thinks like that?"
"Before I became a writer, I was a reader first. I am still a reader now. A lot of book genres just made me someone who I'm proud of today. And also from the experiences of other people too and my experiences."
"That's amazing, I get you Charlotte. Now let's talk about your book "When the Confetti Falls" It's about what? For people who aren't still aware of what it was haha"
"Alright, so When the Confetti Falls is about two different people who continuously meet through each other's dreams. And whenever they meet in their dreamland they would do the things they couldn't in reality. The question is, are they both aware that both of them were already existing in reality? Or not?"
"Ohhh now that's a book plot. I am willing to trade my life just to read it again for the first time! Hahaha Now this question is for the dreamers like me out there watching us right now. This is an important question I am going to ask, Charlotte so you all should listen well. So Charlotte, is book 2 possible for When the Confetti Falls?"
"Unfortunately, no, because I wrote When the Confetti Falls as a standalone however I have good news for you all. I am writing a new book that's connected to When the Confetti Falls. And it's called "Before the bridge sinks at Sunset"."

Ever since my writing career is out of the roof, my family decided it would be best if I also just homeschooled like Kyle. Because my schedules aren't matching up if offline classes would be at a normal pace again. Sure, I am going to miss everyone and the normal school life. But having this kind of opportunity doesn't come again, especially at a young age.
Speaking of Kyle, we are doing well together. We are back to our normal friendship relationship, and what I am glad about is that we didn't become awkward. Now that we are both in a homeschooling setup and a tutor just comes for us now and then, we just found out that we also have a good synergy in the academic area. If one of us didn't understand something, we would carefully learn from each other. Although most of the time, I am the one who teaches Kyle. Nevertheless, I admire his sense of perseverance and dedication when he starts doing something. He won't stop until he gets it.
Tonight, his three agents are going here to his house for a visit and as well share some good news with him and me. Kyle is so excited because, after months of waiting, he finally could get a new acting job. For the past months, Kyle has been very down because the entertainment industry doesn't have any good results but now that things are going well. He's been keeping things positive. As for why they would be meeting me too, I was just guessing that it's about my book. and since I was involved too, my family was also invited to this house dinner.
My mother took a day off for this day, just so she could also participate in discussing things. My father also took a day off from his business, and my brother forced himself out of his cave. Our families cooked dinner for us to share. The food is a mix of Canadian and Filipino food.
I just wore a nice casual dress, because it's still warm here in Vancouver.
When Helen, Janet, and Amelia arrived they greeted us lively and warmly just like how they used to for me. Unlike Helen who've i met a couple of times in the past months, it's been a while since I last met Janet and Amelia. I am glad that they still treated me the same way they did a couple of months ago. They told me of how they missed seeing me and Kyle.
When we were eating dinner, they didn't take anything any longer and shared to us the exciting news.
"So, the reason we are here for Kyle and Charlotte, especially for Kyle. Since we know you have been waiting for this for a few months now, is because we received an email for a Netflix series and they were casting 11-12-year-old kids both male and female." when Janet said that Kyle's eyes sparkled and got so excited. However when he realized that they said also a female one he then looked at me with wide eyes and pointed to the two of us
And that's when they nodded happily
"Yep, we were thinking that you should also audition Charlotte. They were specifically looking for kids with Asian ethnicity whether it's half or pure." Amelia explained
"But I don't have any acting background. Is that okay?" I asked worriedly
"Yes very much, they would be holding a boot camp anyway so it's fine. So are you in? Do you want to try?" Helen answered and asked me.
I had never imagined myself on screen before and I was just imagining it a few months ago when Kyle took me to the bright side of life. But now it's in front of me now, all I have to do is to open the door.
Charlotte smiled and nodded then said excitedly "Yes very much! I would like to try it! Thank you!" Her family was also very supportive of this new opportunity for Charlotte. It's like almost every month, she's shining even brighter and it's all thanks to the people around her. They don't cut off her wings when they begin to think of the negative side of things. Instead, they think of the positive side of things, the lighter side of it.

"So since we knew you would say yes to us. We already prepared some sample scripts for your audition. Now, you have to act on them when we film the tape. We would be sending the tape to the casting director. We were thinking of filming the tape one week from now, so you could prepare yourselves." Janet explained while Amelia gave us a compiled script and guide.
We both thanked them for everything while we read the thing that they just gave us.
My role for the tape is a Sassy Little witch who's strong and independent.
Scenario 1: (Facing the villain head-on)
"You might be older than me, but you are just as weak as a dying plant! So here is your antidote! Loch Ness monster!"
Scenario 2: (A normal day in her alchemy shop, when a repeat drunk customer came in)
"Just so you know this is an alchemy shop, not an adult baby therapy clinic. If you are going to cry and blame the world just because you are a fool, then go ahead and be miserable. I am not going to listen to you anymore, I am so sick of telling you what to do yet you always just don't do it! So go and never come back! LEAVE! NOW"
Scenario 3: (Helping heal someone from the forest while herb picking) (Sentimental)
"I am just a kid. I don't know what the adult world is like. But I could sense you were hurting so much, so it's alright to cry even as an adult. You are a human, not a machine. We all get tired and it's part of who we are. So here's some candy, it'll soothe the pain...temporarily."
Scenario 4: (Love at first sight to a boy while she's with her friend)
"His eyes...His beautiful eyes...it glimmers like how the sun shines in the waters of the sea. I have never seen someone like a Greek god...I could already see our future together, him waiting for me in the aisle, and we would grow old until I'd wait for him in heaven. I have to know his name. Introduce me, Leslie! Introduce me!!!"
Scenario 5: (When someone says a bad thing to her) (crying scene)
"How...can you say that...to a kid? I...I don't know what I did to you, but you don't have the right to judge me. I am a child if you forgot about that. If you are expecting me to do the same to you, no I won't. Because I'm never going to be a person like how you are...stick that to your mind, loser."
When Charlotte finished reading the script, she couldn't help but smile widely at them. She thought that the script was amazing and she could already see herself acting it. She just hoped that she could memorize them quickly and that she could show the right emotions. Kyle then noticed her worries, he held her hand that was hidden underneath the table. While everyone was having conversations, they then created their little world.
Charlotte looked at him when he held her hand and then she saw Kyle giving her an assuring smile
"Don't worry, I am here. I'll be with you presently."
