Doctor : I don't get it. I don't see any signs of depression. People usually have suicidal thoughts when they are in depression. One thing for sure is she's taking some kind of stress. But that alone doesn't explain her not responding to treatment.
I was on the brink of falling apart. It's getting too much. Too much to bear at the same time.
Was imagining having a normal life too much?
Was wishing to live with her for the rest of my life too much?
Was spending my life every moment happily, making memories with her, and laughing with her at our silly jokes too much?
Did I ask for too much?
The doctor was looking at me with pitiful eyes. Yes, I was looking so helpless, broken and pathetic. Pathetic because I think somewhere I am the cause of all of this mess.
Doctor : We are trying our best. She must wake up within 2 or 3 days. If not there are high chances of brain death. Or even if she wakes up, her brain won't function properly.
It's feeling like my brain is dying. What did she do to deserve it? She doesn't know how much I was waiting for her desperately. I was better off without her if she had to show up like this. I suffered without her and am now suffering with her. But this time it's more than just suffering. It's painful, so painful that it feels like it is shredding my brain and heart in pieces but at the same time I'm feeling numb from anything.
Doctor : Stay strong Mr. Kim. We're trying our best. We've seen many cases like this. The majority of them recover from it. So there's still hope.
He placed his hand on my shoulder slightly caressing it. He gave a reassuring smile but deep down he wasn't sure himself.
I just nodded my head and he left. I sat on the bench waiting for the news that she was ok. She has to be alright. I've so many things to talk about to her, so many places to show her, so many complaints and so many dates to go on and forget our past.
We shouldn't have let any problem happen between us. When I think about our past misunderstanding, it's ridiculous. Our love for each other wasn't that weak then how it happened?
Wooseok : Taehyung-ah you should eat something. You haven't eaten anything since morning. And I doubt you ate anything in the morning too.
He sat beside me and caressed my shoulder. He was worried. He was worried for me as well as for her.
Taehyung : I'm not hungry
I said looking down. I was lying that's why I looked down. I am hungry but I don't wanna eat. I'm not in a condition to eat right now while my Yn is lying on the hospital bed lifeless.
Wooseok : I know you are lying. Taehyung-ah... Don't do this with yourself. You have to stay strong for her and yourself. She'll be alright. Let's go and eat something before you end up beside her on the hospital bed
He tried to lighten up the mood but it successfully failed. I just nodded my head because I knew he was genuinely worried for me.
Wooseok : Let's go

We're still waiting outside the ward. It's been 7 hours and still no news of her.
Wooseok : Don't worry. She'll wake up
It'snighttimee now.We've beene waiting for her to wake up since morning. But she's not waking up
Taehyung : When?
I felt my eyes tearing up again but I tried to endure it as much as I could
Wooseok : Soon. Don't worry.

Taehyung : When are gonna wake up? Stop making me suffer like this
She's lying still lifeless in front of him. He was holding her hand waiting for her to open her eyes which he was yearning badly to see.
Taehyung : C'mon wake up. It's morning now. You have been sleeping from yesterday morning
He was trying to assure himself. But he knew she wasn't sleeping, she was fighting for her life.
Helayd on her hand holding it tightly with both of his hands. He hadn't slept since last night nor eaten anything. His only focus was Yn. He didn't realize when he fell asleep there.
Wooseok : Doctor why isn't she waking up? It's been almost 24 hours now. Is she o
He asked looking at Taehyung through a glass window. He was feeling really bad for him. He tried to send him home to rest but he refused. So he left to bring him some necessary things.
Doctor : *Sigh*... I don't know Mr. Byun. Her body is healed. Yesterday I was worried about her body condition because of her low heart rate and breathing problem, but she's ok now.
Doctors were also worried for her because she wasn't waking up. Her body was completely healed but she was still unconscious.
Wooseok : Then why.....
He stopped speaking as he looked at Doctor's face which wasn't giving good vibes
Doctor : If she doesn't wake up tomorrow, we'll have to declare her brain dead.
His eyes widened in shock. He looked toward Taehyung's direction but he wasn't there. He turned around and saw Taehyung standing behind him
Wooseok : Taehyung-ah
It came out as a whisper. He didn't want him to hear this but at the same time he couldn't hide it from him
Taehyung : D-Doctor what do y-you... What do you m-mean by brain dead? She's just sleeping, right? You said it yourself that her body is healed
The doctor was looking at him with a pitiful and helpless look.
Taehyung : Why are you saying this?
He looked at him with hollow eyes. It's like every tear from his eye got dried. There's no more tears left now.
The doctor walked toward him and placed a hand on her shoulder caressing it
Doctor : Mr. Kim if you ask me then she should wake up in a few hours. I saw many cases like this. I think she'll wake up in a few hours. Maybe her body is exhausted that's why she's still unconscious
He was genuine this time. Taehyung looked at him and slightly nodded his head
The doctor patted his shoulder and left there
Wooseok : Here I bring some clothes and food for you. Take these clothes and freshen up. I'll be waiting for you. Let's eat breakfast
He nodded and left from there to freshen up.
He came back after a few minutes with fresh new clothes
Wooseok : Let's eat breakfast
They ate their breakfast and sat outside of the ward
Wooseok : So she is your girlfriend?
He asked bringing Taehyung outside of his pool of thoughts. He wanted to distract him.
Taehyung : I don't know if I should say "is" or "was".
Wooseok didn't know about him because he was out of the country taking care of his business in another country. Other than that he was really close to Taehyung. Their families are friends from years when they were so young. When Taehyung was in middle school and Wooseok was in high school.
Wooseok : Why? What happened? Did you guys break up?
Taehyung took a deep breath before telling him everything
Wooseok : It's kind of ridiculous and sad too
Taehyung chuckled sadly. It really was ridiculous
Taehyung : I found it ridiculous too.
Wooseok caressed his back. He hugged him and started patting her back thinking it might help him. He's ready to help him as much as he could
Wooseok : Huh?
Taehyung broke the hug and saw him looking somewhere. They saw a nurse running out of Yn's room.
They stood up and almost ran toward her who was talking to a doctor
They were feeling scared but also praying for good news at the same time
Doctor : She opened her eyes for a few seconds and then closed them again. It's a good sign. She'll wake up in few hours. She's out of danger now
Taehyung felt tears forming in his eyes which he thought dried up
Taehyung : C-Can I meet h-her?
Doctor shook his head in denial
Doctor : Let us examine her condition first then you can meet her
The doctor immediately left for her room to examine her. He took deep breaths in relief which he didn't realize he was holding. He was about to go toward her room when someone spoke
Nurse : She was calling someone. She kept saying "Taehyung" which I assume is you
She also left fromtherer behind the same doctor who walked toward Yn's room.
He felt more tears in my eyes.
Wooseok walked toward him and hugged him tightly
Wooseok : She's ok now. Why are you crying now?
He burst out crying in his embrace. Wooseokpattedd her back trying to calm him down
Taehyung : S-She came to meet me. I t-thought.... I thought she left me. I didn't say it but inside I almost believed everything that I saw and heard. I-I thought she w-was... I thought she was.... Cheating on me. It was all my f-fault that s-she left me. I d-deserved it. I didn't w-wait for her and a-assumed everything. W-What if.... What if she h-had her reasons
After crying for good 10 minutes, he calmed down. At this point, Wooseok also found out that it was trust that was lacking in their relationship
Wooseok : Calm down. Do you wanna show up like this in front of him? Go and wash your face.
He nodded his head like an obedient kid
When he came back he saw Wooseok talking to the doctor. He walked toward them. He saw their faces and they were showing good signs.
Wooseok : She's awake.
They both were smiling ear to ear
Doctor : She was sleep-deprived and was stressed maybe that's why it took her time to wake up. She's just weak now. You can meet her
Wooseok pushed him toward her room signaling him to go inside. He walked toward her room with hesitant steps. He was about to open the door but stopped. He was blaming himself for everything. He was feeling ashamed of himself
With a bit of hesitation, he walked inside.
He felt his heart beating like running a marathon.
She was sittingtherer staring at him with a blank face void of any emotion. While Taehyung was on the edge of breaking down. He was seeing her after more than a year. He missed her like crazy. He wanted to hug her and never let her go again but he was hesitant. He was hesitant as if the moment he hugged her, she'd disappear. He was afraid
They both were just staring at each other, one with a blank face and one on the verge of bursting out.
Taehyung : Yn...
It came out as a whisper before he ran toward her and hugged her tightly. He burst out crying hugging her as if she'll leave him again any moment if he leave her. He was finding it hard to believe that she was sitting in front of him
Taehyung: I missed y-you. Where d-did you go? Why did y-you leave me? You know I can't live without you. You... Y-You don't know how I lived without y-you. And... And w-why did you show up like this? I was so afraid. I was scared to loose you. Don't do this again. Please I w-won't be able to survive this time. Please don't leave me again. Please
He was hugging her tightly as if his life was dependent on it. He kept on pecking the side of her head. He really missed her
It's hard to imagine how this man survived a whole year without her
On the other hand, Yn was completely silent. She wasn't speaking or reacting to anything
Taehyung felt it odd. He was about to break the hug when her word froze him
Yn : You betrayed me.

The update got delayed because it's Ramadan. If someone's fasting here then she'll know it's hard to find time for side activities. Also, you get sleep-deprived. Imagine you sleep at 12 and then wake up at 3. Then sleep at 6 then again wake up at 7 or 7:30 for classes. Also, I've exams in 2 weeks 😭🥴
In the end, it's the university's fault 💯
