Nairari's pov
I dropped off Isaiah at school and was on my way to the beauty parlour to do a few sets that were booked during the weekend. Once I got there I got out of my car and went inside.
"Nairari you're finally here" Imani smiled. Imani is my ex boyfriends sister but I have no beef with her even after the relationship I had with her brother,we were all love.
"I had to drop off Isaiah" I smiled as I went to my station and Started to set up everything
"Where's Miriam?" I asked as I disinfected my area
"In the back with the others" Imani smiled
"What are they discussing?" I asked
"Apparently Miriam is getting new employees so she's replacing the others after yesterday's shenanigans" Imani explained
"Bad customer service huh" I laughed
"Not only that, there was a fight between one of the clients and Jackie so everyone else joined in and jumped the client and her sister,it was messy asf" Imani explained further
"That's some hood rat shit right there,I don't know why she had to hire people from the hood" I sighed
"Everyone deserves a chance you know but I guess they proved that they don't deserve that chance" Imani shrugged
The rest of the morning went by in a blur and the beauty parlour was now packed with clients. I just finished off my last set before going on my lunch break.
"Imma head down to Chick-fil-A" I told Imani
"Alright, please get me the double meal" Imsni pouted
"No problem" I smiled and I walked out of the beauty parlour and got into my car , driving off to Chick-fil-A.
Mystique Beauty Parlour-mimi's business
I got back from Chick-fil-A and I walked into the beauty parlour and more people had come in. Business is definitely booming today and I love ittt.
"Here you go" I smiled as I gave Imani her food
"Thank you love,you already ate?" Imani smiled
"Yeah I ate on my way back,I was too hungry" I chuckled as I went back to my station and my next client was already seated waiting for me
"I'm sorry I'm late" I apologised as I wiped my desk
"It's alright" my client smiled
"What design and shape do you want ?" I smiled as I set up my materials.
"My birthday is tomorrow and I'm turning 19 so anything that would go with my age" the client smiled.
"I got you,do you have a picture of what you want exactly?" I smiled and she showed me a picture on her phone
"Is it too much?" The client asked
"No love,it's perfect,let's get started shall we" I smiled and I got to work. My client explained to me all the drama that had happened at school yesterday and how she handled the situation.
Once I was done,I added cuticle oil to her cuticles and I took a picture of her nails for the beauty Parlours insta page.
"These are so pretty" Janisha my client smiled
"I'm glad you like them and happy early birthday" I laughed
"Thank you,how much do I owe you?" Janisha asked
"$100" I smiled and she gave me $300 instead
"You didn't have to tip me love" I laughed
"You deserve it ,I'm definitely telling my friends to get their nails done by you from now on" Janisha cheesed and she stood up and bid her goodbyes and left. Such a nice girl.
Two guys walked into the beauty parlour laughing and talking about basketball and I immediately noticed Jakari and I quickly turned around and fixed my station for my next client.
"Nairari please help Dave to give that gentleman right there a hair cut" Jackie smiled
"Alright" I sighed and I stood up and walked towards the guy sitting next to Jakari on the other chair.
"Shawty is gonna give me a haircut?" The guy laughed
"What? Is there something wrong with me giving you one" I smiled as I put the Cape on him.
"Nah baby,you good" the guy smirked and my eyes met Jakari's eyes in the mirror
"Tekashi?" Jakari asked
"Fuck" I whispered and I ignored him and gave his friend a trim since he had dreadlocks. Jakari just stared at me the whole time but I kept on ignoring him.
"You is good ,I like how the fade is looking" his friend cheesed as I finished up
"I'm glad you like it sir" I smiled
"My name is Omar" Omar smiled as I removed the Cape and unplugged the shaver.
"How much I owe you?" He smiled
"$100" I laughed
"Here you go" Omar smiled as he handed me $500 instead of $100
"This is way too much" I chuckled
"Nah nah you deserve that tip " Omar smiled and he went to sit in the waiting chair to wait for Jakari.
"Mimi I gotta go pick up Isaiah" I smiled as I walked up to my sister who was sitting in one of the massage chairs getting her feed scrubbed.
"Alright,I'll come by when I close the parlour" Miriam smiled and I grabbed by tote bag from my station and walked out of the parlour.
"Nairari wait" I heard Jakari call my name and I stopped to face him
"How do you know my name?" I asked as I crossed my arms
"Your friend Dave told me ,I had to ask" Jakari smiled
"Ok ,bye " I sighed and walked away but he grabbed my hand and pulled me back
"Lemme take you to dinner " Jakari smiled
"I don't think that's necessary Jakari" I shrugged
"I just want to get to know you and see what I'm going to go through" Jakari pleaded
"No,I will not go to dinner with you" I sighed
"Come on Nairari,I promise you it will be worth it" Jakari smiled
"I don't know,I'm not ready to give myself to a man" I huffed
"I'm not like the other guys Nairari,I ain't gonna do you wrong I promise,just allow me to take you out to dinner and you'll see that I'm the one" Jakari exclaimed
"Alright,but this dinner is just as strangers not anything more or less" I smiled
"Can I get your number?" Jakari asked as he held out his phone and I took it and typed in my number
"There you go,bye" I laughed and I walked away to my car.
