as the year hits the third month of 2024, ukiyo started its first round of activities with a unique debut, leaving the ukiyo fan community shaken up because of the different debut sequence it followed.
derived from latin 'vesper', this seven-member boy group was revealed through a film release showcasing different scenes of what seems to be a connected storyline to ukiyo's previous groups. aside from the boys, the film also introduced a related character, portrayed by actress chae taeha, better known as chaeha, that made fans question what each of the casts' roles are in this story.
this five-minute film not only dropped a big ukiyo lore with a lot of floating question marks for the theory crafting part of the community, but it also shifted a lot of spotlight on a rumored renovation in the current company building. ukiyo creative ceos, lim hankyeo and yoo junho, verified the rumors as true, revealing the reason behind the multiple delays they had to face during vesper's upcoming debut. according to their statement, an indoor garden has been recently added, fundamental for the company and representing its lore, as described through their artists.
on another note, the two ceos also added that the making of their merch and magazine edition for months' january and february will resume. no themes or content spoilers were revealed but fans are already speculating a reversed version of the first ukiyo magazine, 'COLLECTION HELL MAGAZINE' which combines different clothing styles and customized accessories like caps and tote bags.
the release date of said collection has yet to be announced, while details for the upcoming events that were scheduled before the delay of activities haven't been disclosed either. what are your guesses on this year's collection? comment down below!

On June 10, Ukiyo Creative announced plans regarding the activity of groups AELIA and POLARIS, aiming to update and reassure fans who claimed that the company has been showing neglect towards two of their groups with the biggest and most loyal fanbases.
One incident supporting this neglect claim dates back on November 22, 2023, to the release of the Uki-TV Episode 3 Aelia Auditions, where the company hosted a scouting audition to fill the 9th missing slot in the group's official debut lineup. However this episode's follow-up interview session and announcement of the final member was delayed, further spiraling the neglect allegations due to its pending status and the decrease of hype towards AELIA.
Following the resumption of their activities, AELIA will be welcoming their 9th member, Nakamura Ryuha to the group for the upcoming comeback, also marking it as her official debut as an AELIA member. She first appeared as a trainee in the Uki-TV episode where she was judged by the Aelia members themselves, alongside other guests, based on her dance performance in the audition. As stated by the line of judges, "AELIA will once again begin promoting as a nine-member girl group with the welcoming of their new member, Nakamura Ryuha. The decisions are made based on her performance under the mentors and her personality that clicks among the AELIA members. We hope the fandom will keep supporting AELIA for their preparations for their upcoming comeback."
In regard to POLARIS, ukiyo creative's first boygroup, it was revealed that member JAEYUN terminated his contract in January, after the group concluded the promotion cycle for their second mini album "THORNS & PETALS". Since then, the group has been on an unofficial hiatus, while negotiating their future with the agency.
The group's label further announced that the group will be continuing their activities as thirteen, following the addition of Keum Jihoon, after much deliberation and consideration of his synergy with POLARIS. As it was stated, "Starting from the second half of this year, Keum Jihoon will be joining POLARIS, bringing various talents and skills to the group. The solid trust among ukiyo creative, POLARIS and jihoon was a big factor for this decision. We hope you will keep supporting the group while we do our best preparing for POLARIS next album."
According to the agency, both groups are set to make their comebacks in the second half of the year.
