"good morning." matt's morning voice sounds, sending shivers down leilani's spine. "'morning." leilani smiles back.
"anything you wanna do today?" matt asks. "yes, actually. can we go—" leilani gets cut off by her phone ringing.
she turns it around since it was placed screen down and looks at the contact name.
"oh wait I gotta get this." leilani gets up from matt's bed and heads to the door. "hi babe." he hears her smiles as she leaves and goes in his bathroom.
"what do you mean?" leilani is still sounded even from in the bathroom. "c'mon babe our anniversary is next week!" leilani sounds.
"yeah, I know. it's okay, you have to." leilani sighs quietly. "bye, I love you." leilani says before the hanging up tone sounds through matt's room.
leilani walks back into matt's bedroom, looking way less excited then before she left. matt knows he isn't supposed to ask and be nosy, but he can't help it.
"what happened?" matt asks as leilani sits on the bed. "seth told me he has to go to the bahamas for some thing I don't fucking know." leilani shakes her head.
"and of cours the has to go from tomorrow to the fifth of december, meaning one, I'll get to spend our anniversary alone and two, I ain't gettin' a sweater." leilani groans, flopping down onto her back.
"a sweater?" matt asks. "yeah. 'I still remember, third of december, me in your sweater', y'know? the whole heather thing." leilani says in a questioning tone.
"ohhh that song conan gray made." matt realizes and leilani nods. "I've wanted a sweater so long. and now that I finally have a boyfriend and a chance to get a sweater, he's gone." leilani whines.

"I'm gonna go see if anyone else is awake." leilani says awkwardly, getting up from matt's bed.
"okay." matt smiles. leilani leaves matt's bedroom and heads up to nicks room. she knocks on the door twice before going in and seeing valerie and nick sitting on the bed, laughing.
"good morning." nick smiles. "hey." leilani smiles back, walking in. she closes the door behind her and joins the two in their conversation.
"lani!" emma exclaims from behind the door of nicks room. a small knock was heard before the door bursted open.
"we want food and matt doesn't wanna drive." she speaks as chris joins her in the opening of the door.
"I want food too." valerie adds. "me too." nick fake pouts. "get ready and be down in 10." leilani speaks and chris does a weird celebration before storming out of the room.
leilani gets up from nicks bed and leaves him and valerie be to get ready. she goes downstairs and reluctantly goes in matt's room but she has too since all her shit is there.
leilani goes over to his closet and grabs one of her outfits out of it. "oh hey I was wondering if—" matt gets cut off by leilani just leaving his room and walking in his bathroom.
the lock was sounded and matt frowns confused. matt grabs clothes as well and starts getting ready.
"let's go." leilani says to chris and emma who just turned the corner. they arrived at the front door and everyone went out.
"where are we even going?" matt asks, annoyed, as he sits in the back. "out." nick shrugs simply, getting in the middle.
"we're going to some restaurant." chris answers, sitting in the passenger seat. "apparently." leilani adds, sitting in the driver seat.
leilani pulls out of the triplets' driveway and starts driving down the street.

"imma get a chicken alfredo." chris announces excitedly, putting down his menu. "me too." emma nods, putting down her menu as well.
"I'm basic as fuck," nick puts up peace signs, "so I'm getting spaghetti." he smiles and leilani nods. "I'm getting a wrap supreme." valerie reads off of her menu.
"a what now?" leilani stifles a laugh. "I don't know. it's a wrap so it can't be bad." valerie shrugs and leilani nods.
"I'm getting lasagna." matt smiles. "what about you, leila?" matt asks. "oh nothing. I already ate so I'm not really hungry anymore." leilani lies.
matt wants to tell her he knows she's lying but then thinks about her mood all day, the way she was pissed off, the way she was disappointed, y'know.
"okay." matt says softly.
"that shi bussin'." chris mutters to himself as they head out the restaurant. "for real tho." emma adds. "we gotta do this shit again." nick nods.
"guys imma make a quick call. you guys continue." leilani announces and everyone nods, walking to the car.
matt had his worries but followed the rest to the car.
it was currently almost 12 pm and it was dark out, it was starting to rain and it was cold.
"hey pretty lady." a creepy ass man approaches leilani. he was holding a joint and he was old.
"hey creepy old man." leilani responds with an uncomfortable smile. "why you all alone here?" the man asks, getting uncomfortably close.
"uh I—" leilani stutters when the old man puts his hand on her hip. "she's not alone." sounds from behind the man.
the man rolls his eyes slightly and looks behind him. "whatchu mean? she's standing here alone." the man shrugs.
"I was just getting something out the car." matt gets closer to the duo. "then who she with?" the man asks with an accent.
"she's with me. I'm her boyfriend." matt puts his arm around leilani and the man scowls. "whatever." the man scoffs, walking away.
"you okay?" matt asks, looking down at leilani. "I'm fine." leilani says in an annoyed voice, walking towards the car and freeing herself from matt's grip.
"hey! what's your deal?" matt stops leilani by grabbing her wrist and making her turn.
"nothing. let go!" leilani grunts, trying to get out of his grip. "matt." her voice cracks, looking up at him and making eye contact with him trying to show him she's uncomfortable.
she wasn't being dramatic or something, this was just waking up loads of traumatic memories from when she was younger.
before her dad began actually abusing, it was mostly just a wrist grip. but it was tight, threatening.
"what?! you've been distancing yourself from me all day!" matt raises his voice. he wasn't trying to raise his voice at her, it just came out because he's so frustrated.
"m- matt please." leilani's voice breaks as she looks at matt like she's scared of him, because currently, she kinda is.
a couple of tears drop from leilani's eyes and matt immediately realizes what he's done and immediately let's go. "shit. sorry leila." matt approaches leilani.
"it's fine." she sniffles, wiping her tears and walking back to the car. "fuck." matt scoffs, disappointed in himself for doing this to leilani while knowing how many memories this probably woke up in her.
matt speeds to the car everyone was already in and wanted to get in the driver seat but when he opened the door leilani was already sitting in it.
"want me to drive?" matt asks. "I'll drive." leilani slams the door and matt gets in the back, not wanting to scare or piss leilani off anymore.
leilani starts driving down the street, avoiding eye contact with matt.
