Nandini
"Nandini beta hame maaf kar dijiye" dhruv parents were asking for forgiveness from me but I couldn't hear anything apart from that he ran away from our marriage.
Yes it was our marriage today,Me and dhruv used to love each other. We were together for two years hidden from our parents and one day accidentally Manik bhaiya came to know about him.
He was very angry with me at first but then he understood that I love him and I want to marry him. He agreed to meet him on my instance and then took some test of him which he passed and nobody was more happy then me that he approved him.
He then talked about it to my parents, they did not agree at first as I was the first born daughter in the family after three generations after many complications, I was very weak and was kept in incubator for two months so they want to marry any cousin so I could live with them for forever. But Manik bhaiya made them agreed and hence today was the wedding but he ran away.
" Ji ab maafi maang kar kya fayda meri beti ki to zindagi barbad ho gayi" Ammi said holding me where I stood still.
"Ji ab hum maafi maangne ke alawa kuch kar sakte ho sake to Hume maaf kar dijiyega,hum ab chalte hai" Aryaman father said and he was gone with his wife.
I looked at abbu and ammi they were crying because of me I had not selected Aryaman it wouldn't have happened.
Slowly I took my step backwards and ran to my room and closed the door. Sitting near the door I cried and cried until I passed out.
Manik
I come back after doing some last moment arrangement for Nandini wedding. Thankgod I reached one hour before otherwise she would have killed saying that she is leaving forever and I am not there with her. It's hurt that she is not going to be in this house from tomorrow and she is not going to irritate me with her naughtiness, she is not going to come in my room at any time with her weird demand and I don't have to make filter coffee for her before going to wake her up.Thinking all this my eyes turned glassy but I wiped it and getting down from car I opened other side door.
I bought her favourite chat from a nearby shop and went inside to see choti ammi and abbu crying and ammi and abbu consoling them.
From upstairs I heard alya who is nandini sister and mukti and navya who are my sister shouting nandini for opening her door.
" What happened" I asked keeping all the things in my hand over sofa.
" Manik " Choti ammi whispered and removing ammi hand hugged me.
" Choti ammi kya hua why are you crying and where are they shouting for nandini " I asked caressing her hair
" Beta meri Nandini ki zindagi barbad ho gayi , dhruv usse chor kar nikaah se bhag gaya" Choti ammi whispered breaking the hug making me shocked.
" What are you saying, ammi abbu ye kya ho raha hai" I asked them and they looked down.
"Manik acha hua tum aa gaye nandini darwaza nahi khol Rahi hai " Mukti said coming down,her makeup was all smeared due to crying.
" Darwaza nahi khol Rahi hai matlab kabse andar hai wo" I asked mukti hurriedly running upstairs.
" Pata nahi hamlog jab parlour se wapas aaye to pata chala ki dhruv ki ammi aayi thi uske baad nandini kab upar aayi kisiko ko nahi pata" Mukti replied me.
" Nandini Nandu please open the door" I knocked the door but didn't get any response.
"Manik mujhe bahut Darr lag raha nandu thik to hogi na what if usne kuch kar liya to" Alya said crying.
" Alya shh aisa kuch nahi hoga, navya go my room side table ke second drawer pe saari duplicate keys hai please bring that" I said to navya who ran hurriedly to my room and bought the keys.
I took out her keys from there and opened the door too see her unconscious near the door.
"Shit Nandini " I patted her cheek but she didn't respond,I took her in my arms and made her sleep in the bed and sprinkled water on her face but she didn't responded making me worried.
" Nandu bacha kya ho gaya tujhe" Choti ammi came and sat beside her holding her hand meanwhile I called the doctor.
Soon the doctor came and told that her pressure is low,she attached the drip on her hand telling us that she will gain conscious within one hour. Ammi and badi ammi sat on her both side holding her hand. Ammi loved her like her own daughter, nandini was the first born girl three generations ,that is why she was loved by everyone dearly. Beside ammi and choti ammi are sisters so she have two relations with my mother. She is more closer to my mother than her own. My thoughts were broken when a servant knocked on the door.
"Niche mehmaan aane lage hai " Servant told taking everyone's attention.
" Didi kya kahenge hum sabse ,sabko pata chal jayega ki nandini ke hone wale pati bhag gaya to sab to issi ka galti nikalenge" choti ammi said to ammi.
" Dhruv dhruv " we all heard her wishper and ran toward her.
" Nandini beta tu thik hai" Ammi asked when she opened her eyes, her eyes were swollen and red due to crying.
"Badi ammi , dhruv " she whispered hugged ammi.
"Na Mera beta shhh chup ho ja" ammi said caressing her hair.
" Navya beta isko sambhal ham abhi aa rahe hai" Ammi said making nandini sleep on her bed ,navya ,alya and mukti sat beside her.
"Manik beta Mera sath chal or aap sab bhi" ammi said as I was about to sit on bed.Ammi went to her room with all of us behind her.
" Ammi kya hua ,abhi nandini ko meri zarurat hai can't we talk later" I said to ammi .
" Manik beta meri baat dhyan se sun or aap sab bhi please ek baar meri baat aaram se sun lijiye uske baad react kijiye ga" Ammi said making me wonder that what she is going to talk.
" Mein chahti hoon ki Nandini ka nikaah Manik se ho jaye" Ammi said making me shocked.
" Ammi kya bol Rahi hai aap ye" I whispered yelled .
" Ha bhabhi ye aap kya kah Rahi hai ,aap jaanti hai in dono kabhi uss nazar se nahi dekha hai " chote abbu said supporting me.
" Mein jaanti hu par ye dono sage Bhai behen to nahi hai or humare yaha to Aisa hi hota hai aur to aur niche mehmaan bhi aa chuke hai ham unn sabse kya kahenge" Ammi reasoned and I looked at everybody too see them thinking about it.
"Manik didi sahi kah Rahi hai ab nandini ki izzat tumhare hath mein hai" choti ammi said folding her hand.
" Choti ammi ye aap kya kah Rahi hai ,shadi se dhruv bhaga hai nandini nahi ti isme nandini ki izzat kaise jaayegi and this 21st century naaki 17th century jaha kuch bhi ho log ladki ko hi galat Maan le" I tried making them understand.
" Bete zamana kitna bhi aage badh jaaye aise halat mein log ladki ko hi galat maante hai" Abbu said ,it looks like everyone has thought of me getting married to nandini.
"Beta nandini hum sabko Jaan se jyada pyari hai ,hum sabki laadli hai ,khaas karke teri or humlog kitne udaas the soch kar ke ki wo yaha se chali jayegi or tujhe kya lagta hai tu kisi ko nahi batayega to kisi ko pata nahi chalega ki tu uske jaane se sabse jada udaas tha ,or aaj ye nikaah nahi hogi to log uska Ghar se nikalna mushkil kar denge or wo ye sab nahi sah paayegi ye baat tu bhi jaanta hai " Ammi said she was somewhere right because Nandini can't handle any taunt .
" Par nandini maanegi" I asked and all of them got a smile on their face.
"Matlab tum Maan Gaye" choti ammi asked.
"Sirf nandini ke liye par usko koi force nahi karega" I warned them and ammi and choti ammi immediately went to Nandini room asking me to get ready.
