WALKER SAT AT HIS DESK, surrounded by textbooks and notes, his head resting heavily in his hands. Walker Scobell, the 15-year-old, found himself confined to his room on a beautiful sunny day, diligently studying instead of basking in the warmth outside.

He had a big test coming up in just two days, and he was struggling to focus and study. He had been trying to prepare for this test for weeks, but every time he sat down to study, he found himself easily distracted and unable to concentrate. The material seemed to be going in one ear and out the other, and he couldn't seem to retain any of it. He let out a frustrated sigh and rubbed his temples, trying to ease the tension building up in his head.

Leah Sava Jeffries was peacefully dozing on Walker's bed when a sudden jolt of pain in her stomach startled her awake. The sleepy soul rubbed her eyes and let out a soft whimper as she tried to shake off the drowsiness. Regrettably, the teenager's period had arrived, bringing along its unwelcome side effects. Seeking distraction, Leah requested her Mom to take her to Walker's place, only to find out that Walker was preoccupied with other responsibilities, leaving her in even more discomfort.

"Walker...," Leah's plea echoed through the room. "You've been studying for so long. Come cuddle," she implored, her eyes fixed on the ceiling, a pained expression crossing her face as nausea washed over her.

Walker's gaze remained fixated on his books, refusing to waver even for a moment. With an air of indifference, he responded curtly, "Can't. Studying," his eyes pierced the words with a sharp intensity.

Leah let out a gentle sigh of frustration as yet another cramp surged through her body. In these moments, all she yearned for was to snuggle up with her boyfriend. Walker and Leah had only recently embarked on their romantic journey together. It was a time of discovery and growth, as they delved deeper into each other's lives with every passing day. However, today was far from ideal for cozying up, much to Leah's disappointment.

Her heart burdened, Leah cast her gaze towards the ceiling, her thoughts sprinting through the labyrinth of her mind.

She waited.

And waited.

And waited.

It felt like an eternity had passed, and Leah's agony only intensified. She writhed in discomfort on Walker's bed, her arms tightly gripping her stomach. The pain was unbearable, and tears threatened to spill from her eyes.

Meanwhile, Walker's frustration reached its boiling point. His mind was consumed with anger, unable to comprehend any of the material before him. He had the urge to tear everything apart and give up for the night. With a harsh grip on his hair, he stared down at his paper, his face contorted with anger.

Adding to his frustration was the gentle whisper of his name, causing his face to flush with irritation.

"Walk...." Leah begged. "Can we cuddle now? I understand you're busy, but my stomach is really hurting and I know you can make it feel better," Her words echoed through the air, a piercing cry that resonated with anguish.

"Leah, seriously? I have to finish this! Go ahead and take another nap!," Walker hissed through clenched teeth, his voice rough and grating.

However, Leah found herself unable to do so. The agony she felt was simply unbearable, making sleep an impossible feat. All she yearned for was to be enveloped in Walker's embrace. With a sense of sadness weighing heavily on her, Leah reluctantly got out of Walker's bed, her braids gently swaying as she did. As her bare feet made contact with the carpet, she couldn't help but feel the warmth of Walker's oversized hoodie hugging her petite figure. Approaching the blonde figure, her face contorted with discomfort, Leah gently rested her hand on his shoulder, her voice filled with tenderness.

"Walk-"

"LEAH!," Walker's scream pierced the silence, echoing through the room as he locked eyes with the girl, rising from his seat in a fit of frustration. Leah's muscles tensed, a wave of fear washing over her as she instinctively retreated, her pulse quickening.

"CAN'T YOU SEE I'M TRYING TO STUDY?" Walker yelled, his voice laced with irritation. "ALL I'VE BEEN DOING IS TRYING TO FOCUS AND GET MY WORK DONE, BUT YOU KEEP DISTRACTING ME. I DON'T HAVE TIME FOR YOUR CONSTANT NEEDINESS RIGHT NOW. "YOU ALWAYS WANT MY ATTENTION, DON'T YOU?" he continued, his voice dripping with sarcasm. "WELL, NEWSFLASH, I HAVE OTHER THINGS TO FOCUS ON BESIDES JUST YOU. I HAVE TESTS COMING UP AND I NEED TO PASS THEM. I CAN'T DO THAT IF YOU KEEP ACTING LIKE A NEEDY GIRLFRIEND WHO CAN'T FUNCTION WITHOUT MY CONSTANT REASSURANCE." I DON'T CARE IF YOU'RE HURTING RIGHT NOW," he spat, his anger boiling over. "I NEED TO GET THIS DONE. I NEED TO FOCUS. AND IF YOU CAN'T RESPECT THAT, THEN MAYBE WE NEED TO REEVALUATE THIS RELATIONSHIP."

Leah's pitiful whimper escaped her lips, as she hastily shuffled away, her eyes shimmering with unshed tears, fixated on Walker. Her fragile frame quivered with fear, a silent plea for understanding.

Walker's mouth hung agape, poised to utter words that never materialized. His gaze locked onto Leah, his thoughts racing to comprehend the gravity of his actions.

"L-Leah-"

"I-I'm s-sorry, Walker. P-please don't be m-mad at me," Leah's anguished cries pierced the air, her contorted face a testament to her overwhelming sorrow. Without a moment's hesitation, she burst out the door, shutting it firmly in her wake, leaving Walker powerless to intervene.

Leah's anguished sobs reverberated through the atmosphere, engulfing her in a wave of overwhelming emotions. Desperate for solace, she instinctively wrapped her arms tightly around her chest, seeking refuge within herself.

In a sudden burst of urgency, Leena emerged from her room, her heart pounding with trepidation, determined to uncover the source of the tumultuous commotion. And there, before her eyes, stood Leah, trembling uncontrollably, tears cascading down her face with such intensity that her very nose seemed to bleed, leaving Leena breathless and shattered.

"Leah? What's wrong," Leena rushed to the side of the anguished girl, swiftly pinching the top of her nose to stem the flow of blood.

"H-he yelled at m-me. I-it w-was s-scary," Leah's wails grew louder, piercing the air. Leena enveloped Leah in a fierce hug, leading her towards the staircase, only to come face to face with Mrs. Scobell as she made her way up.

Her mind raced as urgency filled her voice, "What's going on?!"

"Walker yelled at her, scaring her like an idiot," Leena's voice echoed with urgency as her fingers remained steadfast on Leah's nose, gently tilting her head back.

"He also managed to make her nose bleed," Leena's words echoed through the room, carrying a sense of importance. Mrs. Scobell's eyes darted towards Leah's nose, her gaze filled with determination. She meticulously inspected every detail, her mind racing to find a conclusion.

"Sweetie, please take her downstairs and grab some ice. I'll be calling Mrs. Jeffries shortly," Mrs. Scobell's words echoed through the hallway. Leena obeyed, leading Leah down the stairs, while Mrs. Scobell marched towards her son's room with fury in her eyes. Without hesitation, she flung the door open, her anger palpable.

"Walker William Scobell, How could you-"

"I KNOW, MOM. I KNOW!," Walker let out a piercing scream. Mrs. Scobell's eyes widened in shock as she discovered her son weeping, his hair disheveled from his own hands frantically running through it in anguish.

"TELL HER I'M SORRY!," Walker let out a mournful cry, tears shimmering in his azure eyes. Mrs. Scobell let out a heavy sigh, her thoughts racing at turbo speed.

The Scobell house had finally found some peace amidst the chaos. Leah sought the assistance she required downstairs, while upstairs, Walker diligently continued his work at the desk. Although he couldn't help but wipe his tear-stained cheeks and sniffle from time to time, he gradually found solace in his studies.

However, he couldn't ignore his actions. He had raised his voice at Leah Sava Jeffries, his closest friend and his girlfriend. It was akin to shouting at a defenseless puppy, and the thought of it pained him. Hearing that he had actually frightened her only added to his guilt. Although their height difference was endearing, being belittled by someone towering over you was not.

In a matter of moments, Walker was convinced he heard the door creak open, accompanied by the sound of multiple voices. He released a deep sigh, knowing that Mrs. Jeffries had arrived and was likely livid with him for causing her beloved daughter to weep. The mere thought of what Leah's protective brother, Floyd, might do was daunting, as he always hated seeing his little sister in distress. But the thought of Mr. Jeffries, Leah's father, was even more daunting. After all, Leah was nothing short of an angel, and the repercussions of causing her to shed tears could be unpredictable.

Walker's heart skipped a beat as the door creaked open, revealing Leah standing there. He couldn't believe his eyes as she had transformed back into her hoodie, holding his neatly folded one in her hands. With bated breath, Walker observed her every move as she gracefully made her way towards him, delicately placing the hoodie on the edge of his desk.

"T-thank you," Walker stammered out his gratitude, locking eyes with the girl. Leah gave a gentle nod, started to walk towards the door, but was halted in her tracks by a voice calling out to her.

"Leah, I'm really sorry," Walker's words were heavy with regret as he spoke. Leah pivoted slowly, observing his gradual rise and advance towards her.

Walker reached out and tenderly clasped Leah's hands, cradling them lovingly in his own. His thumbs caressed her knuckles as he uttered his words.

"I know I scared you and that's the last thing I ever want to do. I should have never raised my voice at you. I feel terrible about it. I was under a lot of stress from school work and I took it out on you. But that's not an excuse. I should have handled it differently," Walker's words were barely a whisper before his expression contorted in agony, his head hanging low as he released a heart-wrenching sob.

"Aww, don't cry, lovie," Leah's lips trembled, her touch tender as she cradled his head, her fingers caressing his tear-stained cheeks.

Walker's eyes were filled with torment, his voice strained as he spoke, "Leena said I caused your nose to bleed and I feel really bad about it. I'm sorry for everything, Leah. I know I'm not the best boyfriend," he shook his head, his sobs echoing through the room as his tears cascaded down his cheeks like a torrential downpour.

Leah's eyes brimmed with tears, mirroring Walker's own emotional turmoil. "Look at me, Walker," she whispered amidst her own sobs, turning his face towards hers, locking eyes in a moment of shared vulnerability.

"You're the most amazing boyfriend ever. I feel like the luckiest girl in the world to have you by my side. And, you have no idea how happy I am to be on this crazy adventure with you. I love you, Walker...so much-" Leah's final words were punctuated by a heart-wrenching sob that broke free from her trembling lips. In a swift motion, Walker enveloped Leah in a tight embrace, his head tenderly resting atop hers.

"I love you more than words can even describe," He murmured gently as he pressed his lips against her delicate braids.

In that moment, a soft clearing of the throat echoed in the air, causing the two teenagers to abruptly separate. Their eyes widened as they faced the gaze of their mothers standing at the threshold.

Walker locked eyes with Mrs. Jeffries and began to speak hurriedly, "Mrs. Leah, I really sorry. I swear I didn't mean to make Leah cry. I was just freaking out about my school stuff and-"

Walker was taken aback when Mrs. Jeffries simply enveloped him in a warm hug, without saying a word.

"You're a good kid," Mrs. Jeffries uttered in a hushed tone, her voice filled with delicate affection. Walker's lips curved into a gentle smile, cherishing the moment, as he gently embraced her before reluctantly releasing his hold.

"You ready to go, baby?" Mrs. Jeffries gazed at her daughter, who nodded in response. Just as she was about to leave, she hesitated and approached Walker.

With a delicate balance on her tiptoes, Leah pressed her lips against Walker's cheek, leaving a tender kiss. She then gently held his chin, turning his head to meet her lips once more on the other side. A warm smile adorned Walker's face as their eyes locked in a meaningful exchange. However, their intimate moment was abruptly interrupted as Leah's mother beckoned her to leave.

As Leah followed her mother out the door, Mrs. Scobell bestowed a knowing wink and a smile upon Walker, who reciprocated the gesture before she vanished into the hallway.

Walker stood still, a smile dancing on his lips. In an instant, hurried footsteps echoed up the stairs. Walker's eyebrow arched slightly, yet a smile lingered on his face as Leah burst into his room, leaping into his embrace. Walker held her close and Leah wrapped her legs around him as they twirled gently, the young pair enveloped in a warm embrace. Walker gently placed Leah back on the ground, and the two locked eyes, lost in each other's gaze.

Walker's hand gently grazed Leah's cheek, a tender gesture that lingered in the air as she gracefully moved towards the door. With a mixture of longing and admiration, he watched her until she vanished from his sight.

A soft chuckle escaped Walker's lips as he rolled onto his bed, a jubilant smile dancing across his face
