"I can bet a thousand naira that Mr. Adebayo is on his way to mama Tunde's shop" Hassan said making the whole class erupt in laughter. Mr. Adebayo was our Biology teacher who just left the class and he always visited the beer parlour during break to have a few bottles. Scratch that, a lot of bottles.
He once came into the class, drunk to the extent he asked us to wipe the board when there was nothing written on it.
The laughter soon d!ed down and I couldn't help but notice Katerina and Tayo talking and laughing about something I couldn't hear.
"hey beautiful" Josh said appearing behind me. It was break period so most people were leaving the class. Joshua looked as handsome as always.
"hey " I said dryly with a smile. I stood up and we made our way out of the classroom with his hand around my neck.
"You're coming to my house today right?" he suddenly asked
"em... I don't know..."
Oh God, I better think of a good lie right now!
"why?" he asked
"I'm not feeling well" I said almost immediately
"I'm sure you'll feel better once you come over. It's not fair that I've been to your house several times when you don't even know where I live" Joshua was pleading with the look on his face

"Okay, where do I live?" he folded his arms around his chest while facing me

I turned to the principal, Mrs. Sharon standing in front of me.
"Nwankwo!" she called my surname with her clear Yoruba accent "I thought I made myself clear about keeping boyfriends"

I was half way into the cafeteria when I bumped into someone. I was light that the person nearly knocked me down. I regained my balance and looked up to see who it was.
It was Dan...fvcking...iel.
"you nearly knocked me down" I spat out. He ignored me and kept walking but I was fast enough to grab him by the hand. "you're still not going to talk to me?"
Ever since I started dating Joshua I became invisible to Daniel. He hardly said anything to me or even acknowledged my presence most times.
"how long are you going to keep avoiding me?" I asked. He pulled his arm away from my grip.
"until you come back to your senses" he said with a fierce look and walked away.
I just lost my appetite!!!
I decided not to eat anything anymore so I went back to the classroom hoping that no one would be there, but no, Katerina just had to be the only person in the class.
I walked past where she was seated in the front row and comfortably on my seat at the third row.
It was nearly ten minutes already and we didn't say anything to each other.
"Uhm... your mom wanted the both of us to wear the same dress to the wedding" she said. She was looking backwards now.
"That's not going to happen!" I opposed. I could imagine my mom discuss that with her and not me?
"That's what I thought" she said "so when you get home you can tell her that yourself"
"whatever" I murmured

"what?" I was pissed already.
"You can't tell anyone I'm adopted" she said in a demanding tone.

"I'm going to tell him". Like he'd care. What's so bad about being adopted that she doesn't want anyone to know.
"if you tell him I'll tell Mrs. Sharon that Joshua is your boyfriend" Katerina thr£atened. I was actually scared of Mrs. Sharon finding out but I was not going to let Katerina know that.

"then I'll tell everyone that Sandra is pregnant" she said with a smirk making my mouth drop open.

You know those days when your alarm wakes you up and you really don't feel like moving a muscle? This was one of those days. Guess what...
MY MOM IS GETTING MARRIED!!!
It was today, the wedding.
Time moves so quick! It has already been a month now and this all seems like a dream to me. I have a really bad feeling about today... Or maybe it's just me...
"wake up, wake up sleepy head" Joy sang after barging into my room.
And this is one of the reasons why I lock the door...
And yes, I was still laying on the bed.

"Isabella good morning to you too" she rolled her eyes before making her way to my bed "mom is asking for you"
"why is she looking for me?"
"she wants to make sure you've started preparing and she said she doesn't trust me with her makeup" Joy explained.
I don't blame my mom, joy is BAD at makeup. You seriously don't want her doing your makeup!
"she's really going to pay me oo" I said before making my way out of bed.
I got to my mom's room and she was almost done getting ready when I hadn't even taken my bath.
Adesua was there with her. I was really surprised to see her.
Adesua was our makeup artist for special occasions like birthdays, weddings or any occasion that involved cameras.
"Bella long time oo, wen you come back sef" Adesua asked after releasing me from a brief hug.
She was in her early thirties and but still looked as young as I was. Perks of being a beautician.

We talked a little before I decided to go and take my bath.

"I still can't believe you aborłed the baby" I said to Sandra who was working on my make up. She insisted on doing it even when Adesua was here.
"It's nothing that big. And can you stop bringing it up?" she was obviously annoyed with me. I can tell by the sound of her tone.
"Okay oo" I gave up. Okay just one more question "who is...., was the father?"
"I've told you already... "
"I'm not buying that coated lie abeg" I cut her off
"Well, that's the truth" she said in a matter of fact tone.
"Whatever" I murmured
"So how's Boshua doing?" her faced brightened up again.
"Which one be Boshua" I decided to play charade. I knew she was talking about my relationship with Josh.
"I'm talking about you and Josh na"
"Well, I've been in that relationship for a month now and things aren't going like I expected. He no longer picks my calls, replies to my messages... Nothing. It's getting frustrating" I explained to Sandra who was drawing my eye brows.
"You're not planning on breaking up with him, are you?"
"I'm considering it"
"don't do such thing" she sounded serious. We were looking at each other through the mirror "'sometimes, these kinds of situation need time"
It's like she didn't hear a word I just said. Why is she trying so hard to keep me with Joshua when he clearly doesn't like me the way I thought he did.

"I'll try" I murmured before she went back to doing my makeup.

So mom and Richard finally got married. It was court wedding by the way. The reception started immediately at the same venue. It was held at a hotel.
Nearly everyone I knew was here. I was surprised to see Daniel knowing that we're not in talking terms.
I saw him seated at a corner while typing away on his phone and I decided to talk to him, one on one, for the sake of our seventeen year old friend. And yes, I've known Daniel since kindergarten.
I held my red evening gown slightly and walked elegantly. I was almost right in front of him when a girl appeared out of nowhere and blocked me from him.
"Hey handsome" she said to Daniel. Girls of nowadays have no dignity.
I immediately recognized the girl. She was Katerina's cousin who came from Abuja for the wedding.
"hey beautiful" Dan replied the girl in a sexy tone. I won't lie, I'm so jealous right now.

I was just standing there like a statue not knowing what to do or say.
"Are you here for the bride or groom?" the id!ot asked.
Dan glanced at me and looked away immediately before he replied with "groom"
I felt like my heart was just słabbed with an arrow. So he didn't come here for me or my mom?
I walked away immediately and went back to the front table.
"any problem?" Katerina asked. She was seated like a statue that I didn't notice her. We were forced to sit at the same table. She was wearing the same dress as mine but hers was pink, a dark shade of pink. And her makeup was simple and nice.
"nothing" I simply said
"okay" she murmured
"how did you find out about Sandra's pregnancy?" I asked after awhile.
"Uhmm, I overheard her conversation with Daniel at school. They seemed to be in a heated argument at the time and then she mentioned that she was pregnant, that's all I heard" Katerina said
"Wait, so Daniel knew that Sandra was pregnant?" I asked no one in particular "Why did she tell him and why were they arguing about it?"
"Well, he's your friend isn't he? If Sandra told you then she should also tell him" Katerina said
"Does Tayo know about it?" I asked
"I don't think so"
"if she didn't tell Tayo then why Daniel?" my suspicions were already getting the best of me.
"watsup girls. What are you gossiping about?" that was Tayo appearing out of nowhere. He took a seat beside Katerina.
"Do you know where Sandra is?" I asked Tayo
"No... What's wrong?" He asked
"Come with me, we have to talk with her" I grabbed Tayo by the arm and took him away. There was loud music playing and the bride and groom were still dancing.
"What's the matter?" Tayo asked
"I'll explain... I need to make sure.... I'll explain"
"wait, Josh is outside he said I should call you" Tayo said pulling away from my grip.
"Okay... I'll go and meet him. Maybe he's about to leave. Find Sandra and tell her I'm looking for her" I said to Tayo before we parted ways.
I held my gown above my ankles and walked really fast. I would've have ran but I was wearing high heels. I went outside to the parking lot and found Josh and Stephanie in what seemed to be an argument.
"I'm going to tell her the truth!" Stephanie shouted. They didn't notice me approaching them.
"You wouldn't dare..." Josh was pointing at Steph with rage.
"A deal is a deal Josh... "
"What's the problem?" I interrupted Steph.
"Bella..." Joshua said
"Thank God you're here... I have something to tell you..." Steph began with a fàke pity tone.
"Don't listen to anything she says..." Josh tried dragging me away but I stood my ground.
"Joshua has been deceiving you!" Steph shouted
"Don't mind her... Let's go" Josh persuaded
"The whole thing was a plan. The whole relationship was my idea... We both planned it in order to take revènge. Everything was our idea. Joshua never liked you... "
"Don't listen to her... "
"Even the whole show he put together for you at the mall, they were all faķe. We planned it. After all those years of bu||ying me, smashing my head to the walls, b£ating me up, fòrcing my head into the toilet, you come back pretending to be an angel... You're not deceiving anyone Isabella... No one loves you and no one will ever love you..."

I interrupted Stephanie with a slaþ. I was already in tears. I couldn't believe my ears, all those..... messages, phone calls, the proposal... They were all a plan to revènge...

My voice echoed and I couldn't help but cry my eyes out.
"Bella!! What's the problem?" Daniel ran to the scene with Sandra and Tayo following.
Daniel tried lifting me up but I půshed him to the ground.
"Bella what is the matter with you?!" Sandra screamed rushing to Daniel to help him up.
"Shuł up Sandra! Shuł. Up.!!!" I screamed like a cr#zy person. "For the last time Sandra, and God so help me if you don't tell me the truth...., who was the father of your unborn child?"
"wait, what? Sandra you're pregnant?" Tayo was shocked
"Fine, it was Daniel. Yes Isabella you finally know the truth, are you happy? " Sandra barked at me.
I made an attempt to slaþ her but she held my hand before it could connect to her cheeks.
"All those years of hearing you complain of how you didn't love Dan while I was dying inside is over! I love Daniel! But you're the only one he wants" she shouted still holding my hand "You finally left without saying anything and I took my chance with him, we would've been happy but no, you just had to come back again and ru!n everything!" she was now crying but I didn't give a damn!
"You're a wh0re!!!" I screamed
"You're a bigger wh0re for dating Daniel and at the same time hooking up with Tayo. Or you thought I didn't know? I told Dan about it and that's why he stopped talking to you" I looked at Daniel but he looked away from me but that didn't stop me from seeing the tears almost escaping his eyes.
"nothing happened between me and Tayo" I was pointing at Sandra
"There's no point in lying Isabella you've been caught in the away match you played with two best friends" Steph said. I couldn't control myself anymore... I rushed her like a eagle and smashed her head against the wind shield of the car she was leaning on.
Everyone started screaming. There was bl0od everywhere. On my hands too. I began trembling. Stephanie had lost consciousness.
"oh my God Isabella what have you done!!" Joshua screamed while holding Steph in his arms.
"I... I.. " I stammered away
Tayo rushed over and listen for her heart beat and checked her pulse while Sandra went inside to get help.
"Oh God.., I think she's... d£ad!"
