Hey, it's been a while.
Hanging onto what we had. Drowning in waves of the things that were never sent.
Sorry, I never mentioned how sorry I was. Or am.
We dove right off the edge of the coast remember?
The rolling planes of endless hills, the foaming tides battling for a glimpse of land.
4:53 pm. Remember?
You jumped, I jumped. You laughed, glints of the faint sun hanging off your hair like lifelines.
Deeper.
Then the view of the land was gone.
Only dark water.
I remember gurgles forming bubbles with our trapped screams.
Sinking, further, further.
Your hair spun and wafted deeper like golden sheens of tulle. Body flailed and slumped into itself.
It was like looking into a mirror image of myself,
because I knew I was doing the same thing.
Can we talk it over some time?
