Naruto
Sakura? When did he start calling her Sakura?, thought Ino in confusion.
Sakura?, thought Sasuke. Sai didn't seem to care much.
S-Sakura? Why not Sakura-chan?, thought Sakura.
I looked at the beach map for a moment, then sprinted wherever I thought was the nurse's office.
I luckily reached there pretty quickly.
Panting, I barged inside the office.
"Sh-She fainted, a-and then the wave..." I said, then paused, suddenly feeling immensely guilty about all that happened.
"Okay," said the nurse.
She suddenly began yelling directions. Hinata-chan was taken from my hands and was placed onto a stretcher.
I got scared. Did I really hurt her that bad? Is this really that serious?
"Don't worry. She'll be better in no time," assured the nurse, smiling at me.
"O-Okay," I answered.
"You can go rest over there," she said.
"Thank you," I replied quietly. She then left.
I started pacing around in circles. Is she really gonna be alright? What if she got injured really bad? What if she?...
I suddenly stopped in my tracks.
I sat on one of the couches, the towel Sakura handed me wrapped around me. I shivered from the AC.
Tears suddenly started plopping down onto my lap.
I covered my face with my hands.
What if she doesn't survive?
Hinata
My vision started to get less and less blurrier.
I squinted, trying to adjust to the light coming out the window.
I looked at the clock. 4:17? Was I really out that long?, I thought.
A sudden thought appeared in my head. Naruto-kun! Is he okay?
I panicked.
Rubbing my eyes, I helped myself up and looked around at my surroundings.
Ah, I'm in the hospital, I thought. Who brought me here?
I turned my head to my right to see a blondie with his head resting on top of the bed.
His soft snores filled the entire room.
This is giving off some déjà vu, I thought, thinking about what happened in the mall.
I suddenly started blushing.
"Oh, Hinata-chan, you're awake! Are you alright?" asked Naruto-kun while grinning.
I blushed some more. "O-Oh, y-yeah..." I stuttered, looking in the opposite direction as to not faint again.
"Hey...I understand if you hate me. It's okay if...you don't want to be f-friends anymore," he suddenly spoke.
I whirled my head in his direction by surprise.
"N-No, it's not like tha-"
"I'm s-sorry," he said while looking down.
I looked at him worryingly. "Naruto-ku-"
"I-Its all m-my fault," he choked. "I-If it w-weren't for m-me, you w-wouldn't have e-ended up l-like th-this."
He turned away. My heart shattered at the scene.
"Naruto-kun...Please don't think like that," I consoled, but he wasn't able to hear me.
"I-I'm s-sorry..." he whispered, his voice shaky.
I caught a glimpse of a tear plop onto the bedsheets.
Tears started building up in my eyes. I couldn't bear to see Naruto-kun this broken.
No! I need to be strong!, I thought. For Naruto-kun!
I placed my right hand onto his shoulder.
"N-Naruto-kun...It's okay. I'm alright," I said quietly.
He suddenly turned around and hugged me.
"I-I'm s-sorry," he said, his voice muffled since his head was placed into my shoulder.
I flinched slightly, but then hugged him back. "I-It's okay, Naruto-kun."
"Th-Thank you."
We stayed like that for who knows how long, until I heard soft snores come from him.
He's asleep, isn't he, I thought, and positioned him so that he was lying on the bed.
I pulled the blanket over him.
He looks so adorable when he sleeps, I cooed.
I suddenly realized what I was thinking, and started to blush.
A thought of what happened in the beach then suddenly flashed through my head.
I turned beet red, and my knees gave out.
I looked down at the tiles on the floor while squatting.
We really did it, didn't we, I thought.
I covered my face with my hands in embarrassment, and then another thought flashed though my head.
Why did it all seem so familiar?, I wondered. Could he have been the one?
I need to catch up to Sakura-chan. But how about Naruto?, I thought.
I decided to leave him at the nurse's office.
I made sure he was tucked in properly before leaving.
"Someone is still resting inside," I told the nurse at the counter.
"Sure, no problem," she replied, smiling at me.
I bowed as a thanks in return, and started towards the others.
Naruto
I woke up to see someone flicking my forehead.
"Owwww!" I exclaimed. "What's your problem-"
"Get up Dobe. It's 5:30 already," said a person with raven-black hair.
"Teme," I said, squinting at the clock.
"Still unable to tell the time, huh," he said while smirking.
"Shuddup," I grumbled.
"Come on, the others are waiting for you," he said.
I nodded, and he dragged me all the way to where the others were.
"You guys are still here?" I asked.
They all nodded.
"Where did Hinata go?" asked Ino.
"I...I actually don't know," I said, squinting up at the sun. "I remember hugging her, and then I dozed off..."
"You what!?" they all exclaimed. Sasuke just sighed. Sai wasn't there.
I suddenly realized what I just said, and started blushing.
"N-Nothing," I replied quietly, turning away.
"No, there was someth-"
"Are we going back now?" I blurted out, trying to change the topic.
I want the deets!, thought Ino.
"I think so," replied Sakura.
"Thanks, Sakura," I responded.
We all said our goodbyes, and went our separate ways.
I walked towards the bus station.
A few minutes after I reached, a bus came along.
I climbed inside, and went to the very back, like always.
There were always fewer people in the back, which helped sometimes.
Besides, if you want to goof off, you won't get caught as easily.
I plopped down into the seat by the window, and gazed out the window.
I sighed, then looked at the floor.
It really happened today, didn't it, I thought. And it was eerily similar to the one from earlier.
I started to blush. Could it be Hinata-chan? I mean, there is a possibility, but I can't be sure.
I looked up at the ceiling now. There is only one way...
The bus came to a halt.
Realizing this was my time to get off, I jumped out of the bus, nearly dropping my phone on my way down.
I went on to walk home.
Thoughts of what happened today filled me inside.
I started to blush, and quickened my walking pace.
I reached home after a surprisingly short amount of time. Probably because I fast-walked the way here.
I took a long shower, and changed into sweatpants and a T-shirt, all the while thinking about what happened today.
I plopped onto my bed.
It all seems clear now, I thought. I know why all this is happening to me.
I blushed and covered my face with my hands, my eyes slightly peeking out, gazing out my window into the night sky.
It's because...I have a crush on Hinata-chan.
