IT HAD BEEN a week since I was casted and announced as Annabeth. I was insanely excited, counting down the days for filming to begin in June.
And maybe, possibly, counting down the days before I could see a special blonde boy.
The first day I got back, I went over to Sunny's house. She immediately mentioned Walker, talking about his transition from cute to hot, grilling me on how I can best handle this situation as "a hot girl who a hot boy has a crush on." She told me that I could not let this opportunity pass.
I replied with telling her that I wasn't even sure he stilled liked me, and a celebrity wasn't the same as a real one. She simply rolled her eyes.
In the last week, I'd written more letters to my sister than I ever had before. She passed away when I was around eight and she was fourteen, and for those few years she was my idol. My confidant, if you will. She listened to all my elementary school gossip, sang along to Taylor Swift with me and laughed at all my jokes. After she died, I really struggled to open up, or really function at all. I began to write letters to her, telling her all the things when I knew I would if she was here.

It's been a week since I was casted as Annabeth. I still can't believe it. If you were here, I know exactly what you'd say. "You deserve it, baby cakes. You are everything she is and more." I hated that nickname when I was younger. Now I'm longing to hear it again.
I don't know whether to be happy or nervous. I've always looked up to Annabeth, mostly because she reminds me of you. She's fearless. Full of life. Pretty. Intelligent. Everything you are and more. I'm scared that I won't be able to portray her in a good light, but most of all, I'm scared that I'll let you down.

I was annoyed that Brady mentioning Walker made me comply so quickly. I barely knew the guy, and he had me melting at the call of his name. There was an aura about him, one that made me want to spend every minute with him, hear every laugh and watch every smile.
I scoffed at myself, grabbing a brandy melville sweater with the American Flag on it off my bed and chucking it over my pyjamas. I plopped down at my desk, placed the pink headset on my head and joined the stream.
"Yo, she's here!" Brady exclaimed when my face popped up. "You took your sweet old time."
"Hey Maya." Walker welcomed me, grinning a devastating smile. I almost screamed.
"Hey, Walker." I replied, a little too quietly. I wasn't a shy person. Like, at all. Not even when I liked a guy. But something about him was different, the feelings...
Maya, stop it. Not only is he practically a stranger, he's a coworker.
"Aw, that's cute. She's gone all shy." Brady teased. "What do we wanna play? Roblox? Minecraft? Fortnite? Actual no, Maya's awful at fortnite. Maybe Roblox then."
"You talk a lot of shit for someone who begs me to stream with them every weekend." I snapped back, earning a laugh from Walker.
"Only cause the chat loves you. I don't want you here, the fans do." he joked, rolling his eyes.

"I'm super excited for pjo! I literally cannot wait, Annabeth is my idol and I can't believe I get to be her." I gushed, joining the fashion famous game Brady had entered. I looked at Walker, to see him grinning, reading the chats.
"Same! I'm counting down the days. It's the best project I've ever been involved in." He added, a blush creeping over his cheeks as he continued reading the chat.

"Bro, you are the worst wingman ever." Walker shook his head. I laughed heartily as my phone lit up with a message notification beside me.

"I won! You both fucking suck!" I celebrated, Brady telling me to shut my fat ass mouth, while Walker cried about the chat abusing him. I streamed with them for a while longer, we played minecraft and animal crossing, and unfortunately fornite, which was short lived. I died almost instantly. At about 12:30am, I called it a night and went to bed. I layed down and pulled the covers over my head, my phone laying beside my head. I was disturbed by a slight vibration and a bright light.
