by the time quinn had parked in the garage and entered their bedroom, devon was fast asleep in the bed, sprawled all over the mattress without a care in the world.
he smiled fondly at the sight, thanking god that he was so lucky. he took off his shirt and changed into a comfortable pair of plaid pijama pants that devon had forced him to buy.
he fell beside her, gently moving closer to her body to avoid moving her. he cuddled into her, their bodies mixing together like perfect puzzle pieces and nuzzled his face into her neck as he wrapped both of his arms around her waist, immediately smiling at the feeling of her hands grabbing his, interlocking them and resting them on her chest.
"rowdy and moosey are in the spare room" she whispered, sleep still deep into her voice.
"again?" he gently chuckled, kissing her neck softly.
she just nodded, calmly turning around so she could be face to face with him, both of them wrapping their arms around each other's waist to remain close "jack injured himself again"
"why am i not surprised?" he chuckled lowly, smiling as devon snuggled her head in the crook of his neck, his hand immediately taking it's place in the back of her head soothingly.
"it's jack" she mumbled, her voice coming out muffled making quinn want to snuggle closer to her but it was impossible.
"you wanna go to the library tomorrow?" quinn asked as he ran his hands through her hair gently.
"really?" she prompted quietly, too tired to move her head.
"of course"
"i would love it"
"then it's a date" he mumbled into her neck, his eyes locked with the bedside table, where he knew a certain velvet box was hidden.

devon loved libraries. she loved books and she loved reading. when she quit her old job she had to admit she was sad. she used to read over six books weekly and now she was lucky if she even managed to read two books in a week.
after a late breakfast, and luke and jack deciding to tag along to their date, the hughes' and devon were finally at the library where quinn had asked to be her boyfriend.
upon minutes of arriving, devon had skipped away, her eyes going from section to section in awe of the place.
"she's kinda cute not gonna lie" jack mused, amused at how childish, in a good way, she looked. the mere sight of her hapiness was enough to make the three boys grin at the same time which was weird if you knew the hughes' brothers who preferred to sulk every day.
had quinn not been so busy falling in love with her all over again he would've said something along the lines of 'of course she is' but instead all he could do was blink and follow behind her like a lost puppy making his younger brothers chuckle in amusement.
"rusty wanna make a bet?" jack smirked, standing in place as he and luke watched the couple be so disgustingly in love.
"what about?" luke asked, briefly looking up from his phone.
"i bet he proposes in a month, tops" jack claimed sounding extremely sure of himself.
"i say two months" luke chuckled, praying to everything and everyone that he would win the bet this time.
"fifty dollars?"
"bet"
as the younger siblings talked with each other, the couple were walking along the never ending aisles, well more like quinn was following devon through the place.
devon was going on and on about some book quinn had never heard about. he was sure if he had paid any attention to her he would've understood but her excitement was distracting, the only thing he was properly thinking was 'oh wow she's so pretty' 'i'm in love with her' 'she's so pretty and warm and soft' 'she's the girl of my dreams'
"what?"
okay, maybe he said that out loud.
"what?" quinn repeated dumbly, finally coming out of his devon themed daydream.
"you said 'she's the girl of my dreams'. are you cheating on me in your mind?" she jokingly wondered, not too jokingly but not too serious either.
"you are the girl of my dreams" he mused, pulling her closer by the hand he was holding until he was able to wrap both of his arms around her waist "my mind and my heart and my body is in love with you" he said, kissing her nose briefly.
devon blushed profusely, betrayed by the way her own body reacted without her meaning to "my mind and heart and body is in love with you too" she smiled, kissing his cheek before pulling away, grabbing his hand once again.
