Kagome stood by the fire. The stars filled the night sky. It was a beautiful night. Yet, she couldn't help but worry. Earlier while setting up the camp Inuyasha found Kikyos scent. She knew he waited till everyone was asleep to go looking for her.
It hurt Kagome that he snuck away to go find her. A silent tear fell down her cheek she quickly wiped it away. 'Why did he have to be such...such..an..ASS! She thought to herself. All Kagome wants is for Inuyasha to be honest with her. She knew he couldn't love her but, that didn't matter to her. She loved Inuyasha, yes she admitted it. All Kagome wanted was for him to be honest with her.
She shifted uncomfortably trying not to wake Shippo who was on her lap. Sango was sleeping next to a small Kirara and, Mirku was sound asleep next to the fire. Kagome started to rub Shippo's head which put a pleasant smile on his face. That's when Kagome beard a twig snap. She jerked her head towards the sound and started to tense up.
"Inuyasha?" She asked into the darkness.
"Jess...Kagome..what are you still doing up," Inuyasha said while walking up to the camp fire. 'I could ask you the same thing' she thought to herself. He walked up to the fire and sat across from Kagome next to Mirku ' s sleeping body. There were a few moments of silence.
"Did you find her?" Kagome asked him. Inuyasha ' s eyes shot open and he just stared at her. She took that as a yes.
"Kagome...I-"
"Don't," Kagome cut him off. She didn't need his sympathy. In fact she didn't want it. He could go off with Kikyo and she wouldn't care. Why should she? He doesn't even care about her.

"Kagome...I-"
"Dont," Kagome cut him off. Inuyasha looked down at the fire. He tried to focus on the colors of the fire. He obviously hurt Kagome. It hurt him to know that he was the cause of her pain. Inuyasha could smell the salt water. He knew she had been crying, she couldn't hide that from.
FLASHBACK>>
Inuyasha waited till everyone was asleep. He didn't want them to try and stop him. It was something he really needed to do. Before realizing it Inuyasha was deep in the forest tracking Kikyo's scent.
Until earlier that day when he found her scent Inuyasha had completely forgotten about Kikyo. In fact never once did she cross his mind. The only one that he ever thought about was Kagome. She had taken up his mind completely not to mention his heart. It ached every time he was near her.
Inuyasha was deep in the forest and Kikyos scent had stopped at the spot he sat in. 'What now' he thought.
"Inuyasha?" He heard a familiar voice say. When he turned around Kikyo looked at him with a blank expression.
"K-Kikyo...," he said standing.
"Why have you come should you not be with your group?" She questioned.
"I came to see you....remember Kikyo how I told you I would go to hell for y-"
"Inuyasha, we both know I no longer hold your heart," she said placing a hand on his shoulder, "nor do you hold mine." Inuyasha stared into her eyes. "I do not have a heart Inuyasha. Nor do I need one. Once Nuraku is dead there is no reason for me to lenger around." She then pulled him in for a hug. They stood there for several minutes silently. "You came here because you are not sure whom you love?"
Inuyashas eyes shot open. It was true he knew he was in love with Kagome. Even so, he orginaly belived that he loved one person. Kikyo. Then when he woke up from that tree he realised he had fallen for someone else.
"Inuyasha, there is no doubt that I have feelings for you and vise versa. However, these feelings are not what you think. Go back to her to the one you love," Kikyo pulled back and brushed a light kiss across his lips. "We share a past love together, Inuyasha. One that neither of us shall forget. However, my time upon this earth is comming to a close and yours is just beginning." With that slowly Kikyo started to step away from Inuyasha. Then with ease she turned and disappeared.
Her scent was no where to be found. Even if he could find it, Inuyasha wouldn't chase after her again. Kikyo helped direct him to the answer he waited so desperately for. For that he would be ever so grateful.
FLASHBACK OVER>>
Inuyasha continued to stare at the fire. Kagome had fallen asleep while he was deep in thought. He obviously hurt her feelings. Inuyasha knew she worried about him every time he went after Kikyo. They never knew if it was a trap or not. He sighed 'Maybe I should just tell her' he thought to himself. 'What if she doesn't feel the same or what if she likes someone else' Inuyasha started to become highly upset. He didn't like the thought of Kagome in live with anyone. In fact he wanted to be the only man she ever thought of. Again sighing he Inuyasha stared at the fire and waited till morning.

It was about noon. The sun was high in the sky. The gang walked silently on the path through the forest. Sango and Mirku walked next to each other in front of Inuyasha and Kagome. They were discussing which demons had the worst type of poison.
Inuyasha was not sure if he should try to talk to Kagome because of last night. He knew she was upset but, he didn't know if she had forgiven him.
"Hey Kagome, you okay?" He asked. Kagome stood silent for a few moments. " listen Kagome I'm sorry for last night I-"
"It's fine Inuyasha. I know you love her I'm in no place to stop you or be upset," she said quietly. He looked down at his feet and stopped walking 'no no! That's not it I love you idiot!!' Inuyasha screamed in his head.
"Inuyasha are you-" she stopped, " I feel two jewel shards coming in fast from the east." Everyone started to take a fighting pose when a huge tornado came. It disappeared as fast as it came before they knew it a familiar wold demon walked towards them.
"Yo Kagome you missed me." Koga said walking towards her.
"Koga...what an unexpected surprise," she said. Koga was standing right in front of Kagome when Inuyasha tried to claw at him. He jumped out the way and started to tease Inuyasha
"I gotta admit I kinda missed ha pup," Kota says while trying to punch Inuyasha.
"Don't call me pup fleabag." He scream while trying to hit Koga. The two go at it for about a half an hour until Koga says
"Sorry pup but I need to be on my way now," he jumps to Kagome and hugs her. "I'll be back Kagome so wait for me." She nods awkwardly and hugs him back. Inuyasha watched upsettingly as Koga stormed away towards the direction he came from.
"Make sure you watch over my precious Kagome Inutrasha!" The tornado screamed before disappearing. Then with rage Inuyasha turned to Kagome who was waving.
"What the hell Kagome?!!? Can't you see he's in love with you??" Inuyasha screamed at her.
" Here we go again," Shippo whispered.
"Sango, Shippo, Kirara, how about we continue on and let the two settle this argument." Miroku said. Sango agreed and the four started to continue the path.
Kagome and Inuyasha glared at each other for what seemed to be hours. Both extremely crossed with the other.
"Inuyasha," Kagome started, "why is it such a problem that someone has a crush on me!?!!?" She screamed at him.
"Maybe because that someone is a rotten wolf pup ," he said.
"And? It's not your place to get upset about it when you go off in the middle of the night to see Kikyo," she said sharply. Inuyasha stopped he realized Kagome was still upset about that. He wanted to comfort her but he was so enraged that his words came out differently.
"That isn't even your business so stop stalking me and what I do! STUPID GIRL!!!"
"SIT BOY!!" Kagome yelled. Inuyasha then face planted into the ground. "SITSITSITSITSITSITSITSIT!!!!" Over and over Inuyasha's body was slammed into the ground. "You don't think do you?? Why do you think I'm always worried about you? Everytime you go after her it kills me in the inside. I know you have feelings for her yes I do. But, when I try and support you go off and get mad at someone who comes up to me? It's not fair Inuyasha! Stop trying to protect me when you love someone else!!" Tears flooded her eyes and soon enough Kagomes cheeks were soaking wet. She started to let out little puffs of air and put her hands over her face 'why can't this idiot just leave me alone!?!?' She thought. Falling to her knees she gave up and just let the tears flow. Inuyasha started to pull himself off the ground. His bangs covered his eyes as he did so 'it's now or never' he thought.
"Dammit Kagome," he said walking over to her. He bent down in front of her and pulled her in for a hug. "Can't you see why I get so upset with you? When any other man comes near you or even tries to touch you it pisses me off. I can't stand it." Kagome stood silent listing to his words," I want to be the only one who touches you. Who gets to look at you. I want you to myself." Inuyasha placed a hand on her wet cheek. He then lifted her chin and kissed her.
Kagomes eyes were shocked open at the surprise. Then soon enough she embraced the kiss and closed her eyes. The two never wanted the moment to end for they were thrilled. Kagome tapped his shoulder because she needed a breath. After they broke the kiss they stared into each others eyes.
"I love you," he said to her.
"I love you too," Kagome said back. They shared another eternal kiss.
