꒷꒦‧ TRIVIA › FATE is the song that introduces fans in the lore of vesper. exploring themes such as love and fulfilling destiny, it tells the story of seven boys who were created with the mission of protecting an important person. throughout their journey, their existene feels more like a curse and punishment to them. it feels like they have lost everything and turned into monsters, but this won't stop them from fulfilling the fate they have been given from the very beginning.

꒷꒦‧ TRIVIA › SWEET VENOM, the title track of vesper's first album, delves into the paradoxical and addictive nature of a relationship. the lyrics also hint at a sense of obsession and addiction as the boys become dependent on the other person's presence and the taste of their poison. however, their story is something left to be explored through the rest of their discography and official content released by ukiyo. the feeling that something dangerous and enticing is spreading inside them, leading them into a pain so sweet is described alongside the feeling of a poison that runs through their veins, offering them a sense of redemption. completely captivated, they are willing to even abandon eternal promises in order to live in the new world they have surrendered to, away from the real one where they are bound to by their existence and mission.

꒷꒦‧ TRIVIA › YOU CALLING MY NAME is another song that strongly connects to the group's lore, narrating their longing towards someone who is no longer with them. due to this absence, they are left in regret, while also feeling empty, debating their very own reason to exist. it portrays their yearning for the person to return and call their name, as it's the final piece of themselves that feels like it has been missing, while holding all their memories of their time together. just like in sweet venom, they are, once again, willing to give up on everything in order to be with them again.

꒷꒦‧ TRIVIA › DIONYSUS is named after the greek god of grape harvest, wine and theater. being the only god with a mortal mother, he was considered an outcast in olympus, something that led him to establish his own followers. in mythology, it is also said that he was born twice, referencing the idea of being re-born. he is also associated with parties, with the events dedicated to him being associated with rituals and reflecting a darker and more chaotic side. due to the amount of metaphors, the song is indirectly linked to the lore of vesper (that has to be fully explored later on in their career) while also expressing who they'd like to be in the future as artists: having their own established fanbase and working hard for their achievements while also enjoying themselves in the process, showcasing their skills through their music and additional content.

꒷꒦‧ TRIVIA › the english version of SWEET VENOM made it as the fifth and final track on the album mainly thanks to the members of vesper who are the most fluent in english. the demo for the song was in english, yet there was a debate among the producers and ceos on whether or not it would be good to let them debut with a full english song. eventually, it was the members' suggestion to keep the english one as a b-side on the debut album, saying it would be a waste to not make use of it and that it has enough potential to attract more fans or casual listeners.

do you ever sit and think how all of them were were meant to be in a group together? we have 2 former sm trainees, 2 survival show contestants, yejun who was famous before ukiyo but still joined the company, labelle's brother who still chose to be in the same company and a former figure skater. they could all be anywhere else but got together and gave us this masterpiece 🤧
