November 2013

The chemistry was undeniable, everyone could see it. It was rare, unique, real. Whenever there were Randy Orton and Sylwia Wodiczko in that ring, it was not their wrestler characters, it was them real selves. Without a doubt, one of the best televised couples in all WWE story.

Some even referred Sylwia as a buffer and better wrestler version of Stacy Keibler, with both women being blonde, super tall and linked with the Missouri native champion.

Despite this, behind the scenes, it was a whole different story. Sure, Sylwia managed to control her anger issues when it came to Randy, and somewhat they really acted like civil adults; once she even talked to him for two straight minutes without freaking out, that was surely a success. She also laughed at something he said once.

Randy was aware she still rightfully had of resentment towards him, and seeing even a little smile from her when with him, that was something he was really grateful for.

Both of them were aware it was hard, if not impossible, to have that kind of relationship they had then, but Sylwia felt ready to call it for a truce. That did not mean she was not mad at him, because fucking hell she still was, but pretending to herself too to hate him was becoming too much.

She did not hate him, she did, for a while, but that was more for anger; honestly she thought she could never really hate him. Yes, those were just few months, and clearly they meant much more for her than what they did for Randy, but what she felt, and still did, for him was something of inexplicable.

If only she knew it was the same for him...

That night, the one before Survivor Series, the blonde girl from Poland found herself wandering through the corridors of the Miami based hotel where the superstars stayed overnight, looking for a particular room. It was, however, still early, around 22 or something, and, even though she had a match herself in the ppv, she decided that her beauty sleep could wait until she sorted that shit out.

Once in front of the door she was looking for, Sylwia made the sign of the cross before knocking loudly; just to be sure to be heard. She knocked few more times, always loudly, 'till Randy opened up his door.

"About time you fucking opened up, Orton!" The girl rolled her blue eyes in frustration, maybe second guessing the truce she planned to. "Don't you know it's extremely rude to make a lady wait?"

"Sylwia?" He sounded surprised, surely he was not expecting to see her at his door. "What are you doing?"

"Are you busy?" She asked back. "May I enter? I really don't feel like to let unknown passers-by hear my business in a hotel corridor." Was she bothering him? Was he already waiting for someone else? Maybe coming there was not a good choice, but it was too late now.

The man put aside to let her enter, gesturing with open arms to step in. "Make yourself at home." He even smiled at her, closing the door once she was in.

He had been enough lucky to have a room all by himself, while Sylwia had to share one with Milena Roucka. It was not that she was bad company, instead, the two female wrestlers were also enough friends, but with her around, Sylwia couldn't have a proper conversation in her room with the man.

The girl looked around the room, it was nice, pretty minimal decorations, king sized bed, nice relaxing colours, clean, a decent tv and an incredible view of Miami. Very much better than hers.

"So..." Randy cleared his throat, leaning against the door frame, rubbing his neck. "What do you want to talk about?" He couldn't lie, he felt kinda intimidated, Sylwia had always been such an unpredictable young lady. It was hard at times to keep up with was going on in her mind.

The Pole turned around to face him and let herself sit down on the edge of his bed, her eyes stuck on him. "I came here to make a deal." She stated, causing Randy to narrow his eyebrows in confusion. "Here... Listen, Randy, we are both adults, which is very frightening by the way, and I thought and realised that, maybe, we should act as such. See, what happened between us... I'm not saying to push it aside, forget it and act like nothing happened, because it did and we cannot erase it; but, what I'm trying to say, is that maybe we can now try to be as civil as we can and probably also somewhat friends. Like it or not, we work in this business, we cannot escape from each other, and right now we also have a storyline together..." She took a brief pause, clearing her throat, meanwhile Randy said nothing, only looking at her with arms crossed to his chest. Sylwia got up and started walking towards the door, where the man was laying, her hand grabbing the door handle. "I said what I had to, uhm, think about it, if you want... Friends or simple civil colleagues, I'll be fine either way."

Before she could open the door to leave, Randy placed his hand on hers, pinning her against the door and cupping her chin with his other hands, so she could have looked at him straight in the eyes. "Sylwia." He breathed out, his voice low and deep. "We can never be just friends."

Given the proximity between their two bodies, Sylwia felt her cheeks on fire. How could she think to be friends with a man who had such an intense effect on her? She gulped, trying to act as tough as she always did. "Then we will be civil colleagues." She said almost in a whisper.

Randy hummed, shaking his head at her words. "I don't think it's a good idea either."

"Then make up with your fucking mind." Sylwia snapped, trying to get free from his grip but was unsuccessful.

Both his hands moved to her waist, closing even more the already minimal distance between them. Unconsciously, as it was the most natural thing, Sylwia's arms circled his neck. Their faces just few centimetres apart.

"That's not what you want too." He spoke, hi blue eyes now moving to her full lips. He leaned in, stopping just two centimetres from her face. "Being just friends." Attaching his lips to her jawline, Randy started to leave kisses all over it, feeling her body tense and her breath getting deeper. "Say you don't want it and I'll stop."

Did she want him to stop? Of course she didn't. Did she want to walk over her dignity for him? That was a big no, but damn, the way only he was able to kiss her... Sylwia closed her eyes, turning her head to the side once he was about to kiss her lips. "Randy..." She said, not even looking at him. "Just stop, please. You're taken."

That took a lot of mental strength for her to say it, because she felt like she was addicted to him, but that was the right thing. And sometimes the right thing was the most hurtful.

Randy groaned and, reluctantly, pulled away, running a hand through his face. "Do you have to remind me everytime?"

Sylwia widened her eyes. He couldn't be serious. "Well, Randy, that's the truth. Do you expect me to tell you it's not? That you're not taken by that woman?" She shook her head, letting out a bitter laugh. "You know, for how much I despite her, i really don't feel like disrespecting her, and, for the way you've acting, you're disrespecting the both of us. What does making a choice cost you? You say you want me, that you can't get over me, whatever you say, still, you're not able to let her go!" She felt her anger overwhelming her, and she slightly pushed him away from her. "You claim to be a big man, but you're not acting like such! Be a fucking man for once, Randy Orton!"

And she would have even slapped him, if he didn't stop her just in time, grabbing her wrist. There was anger in his eyes too, but that was mostly directed towards himself. "Do you think it's easy, Sylwia? And do you think I don't feel like shit because of it?" He said, raising a little his voice. "Truth is, yes, I feel something for Kim too, that is why it is so hard for me!"

Hearing that broke Sylwia's heart. Obviously he felt something for Kim too, but hearing him admit it... well, that was not the nicest thing. Yet, why was she still waiting for him to say it was her and only her the woman he desired?

"But I would be a liar if I say that what I feel for you is not real!" The man kept saying. "And what I do feel for her, fucking hell, Sylwia, is nothing compared to what I feel for you!" He couldn't help but notice a little shadow of a smile on her face, even though she was trying to not show it. "But I cannot change the fact that you're much younger than me, that we're both at different times of our lives, and you have no idea how much this kills me! Because all I want is you, but I cannot be the man you need and deserve!"

"I think that's a something I have to choose!" The Pole snapped back, now yelling louder than him. "You don't get to decide who I need and deserve, Randy! You just don't! It's easy to say that I'm younger, that I have different needs from yours, because breaking news, I know it! I know everything! Still, I came here to you, trying to at least get you as a friend, because not having you at all is even more painful for me! And if you ask me, now, in the past or in the nearly future, I'd still say that it's you the man I want!"

They stood face to face, looking straightly in the eyes, none of them wanting to back down, in silence, until Sylwia spoke again, this time trying to be calmer.

"There's always gonna be this age gasp between us, there was also when we started whatever thing we have. That thing that you can't call it, but I can. Do you know how much that hurt me, Randy? And I try to act like it does not bother me, and I won't admit to anyone else how much it broke my heart! Because, Randy, we could have a masterpiece, but it was you and your stupid excuses to throw it all away! What you say, all excuses! Just because you can't be a man when it comes to me! That stupid little girl from Poland who only wants and needs you to be hers."

She turned her back on him, trying to open the door again to leave, but once again Randy stopped her, just for this time to pull her towards him and hugging her tighter than ever, as to not let her go. She hugged him back, feeling that sense of security and comfort in his arms, as he left a kiss on her forehead.

"I am sorry." He told, almost in a whisper, but sure she heard him, because she nodded. "This is why I tell you that you deserve better. No matter how much I try to be that man for you."

"You don't even try." She replied, not wanting to fight again. She looked up at him and even showed him a little smile. "So... friends?"

He narrowed his eyebrows. "If that's what you want..." He said, knowing exactly that it was not what they wanted, but she explained her point and that made sense. "Friends." He said in the end. "For now." He couldn't help but add.

Sylwia giggled, hugging him quickly again. "Cool, cool." Pulling away from him, she fixed her blonde hair and shrugged. "Okay, I guess I should return to my room. Milena is probably waiting for me... I think?"

"Milena can entertain herself some other way." Randy groaned. "Friends spend time together, don't you know?" He teased, grabbing her hand, a warm smile on his face.

A smirk appeared also on Sylwia's face. "I guess they do."

Always holding her hand, Randy led him to the living room, where they both sat on the couch. Randy ordered room service for both of them, asking specifically for some real Polish food and some beers, which arrived around ten minutes later.

"At least they tried..." Sylwia groaned at the sight of the what was supposed to be Polish food. "They will never compete with my pierogi."

Randy chuckled, ruffling her hair. "You should bring them more often at work."

"When I have time."

For the rest of the evening they kept talking, mostly about their matches on next day. Randy would have performed on the main event, retaining his title against Big Show; while Sylwia would have been busy on a 7-on-7 Survivor Series elimination match, teaming up with Alicia Fox, Aksana, Tamina, Rosa Mendes, Kaitlyn and AJ Lee. Randy couldn't help but ask her how she felt about that, the company teaming her up with April, knowing the two girls disliked each other, but Sylwia simply replied with 'work is work'. However, she was pissed that her team was designed to loose.

At some point, Randy confessed her that his daughter wanted to catch up with her, which Sylwia agreed on meeting again the little girl.

Because friends do that they replied in their heads.

It was late at night when Sylwia began to feel her eyes closing, it had been a long day. She got up, fixing her clothes and weakly smiling at Randy. "Thank you for the company." She said. "This was... a nice evening."

"It really was." Randy nodded, getting up too and taking both her hands in his. "It's late." He added, causing Sylwia to raised her eyebrows, as to say she already knew it. "Stay the night." And before she could snap something, Randy stopped her. "It's late. Milena is probably already sleeping, and you're tired too."

There was a tender smile on his face, a smile Sylwia just couldn't say no. "Yeah, makes sense."

Getting ready for bed, it all came natural for them to lay down in the same bed together, just like they did when they were together; her on the left side, him being the big spoon on the right side.

His arm automatically circling her waist, his head between the space between her neck and shoulder, leaving once again a stripe of hot kisses along the entire curve, making Sylwia chuckle.

"I doubt friends do that." She then said, almost in a whisper as she turned her head to face him.

Randy smirked again. "But we are a special kind of friends."

"You're just horny." The Pole rolled her eyes, placing her head again on the pillow. "I can feel your boner by the way."

For many that would have been awkward, for Randy Orton it was not. The man chuckled. "Can you blame me?"

"No. Goodnight Randy."

"Goodnight Sylwia."

The next morning the girl was bombarded with questions from her friends, but she tried to be as vague as possible. It wasn't difficult, however, to imagine who that friend she had said was.

That evening, the blonde bombshell from Poland had to both compete in her match and be at ringside during Randy's, and, given the turning point in their relationship behind the cameras, she couldn't help but wonder if it now seemed even more intense in front of them. There were already many rumors that said that that chemistry on the screen was also present in reality, which was not a lie, but neither of the two directly involved had ever mentioned their relationship on some tabloid or social network or who knows where, always preferring the confidentiality, as much as possible.

Despite the planned loss and the acrimonious relationship with April/AJ, Sylwia gave, as always, her best in her match, eliminating Brie Bella by pinfall and Eva Marie by submission, before being the last of her team to be eliminated by Natalya with her Sharpshooter.

Her first defeat since coming into the main roster, which she knew it would have led eventually to a brief feud with the Canadian wrestler.

Despite that, she still appeared by Randy's side during in his match, still in her ring gear, not even intervening as the Apex Predator defeated Big Show, just cursing loudly when the older wrestler had the upper hand. In the end, as scripted and predictable, Randy won, hitting the bigger man with his iconic RKO, retaining his WWE Championship.

Sylwia sneaked into the ring and raised his arm in the air, copying the referee's action. As Randy held his championship around his waist, he slipped an arm around Sylwia's waist, causing her to widening her blue eyes.

That was not scripted, or, at least, Sylwia hadn't been notified of it, which she was sure that was not the case.

And as he started to lean in, in the middle of the ring, with cameras still on them, her girl math did not lie: a on-screen kiss could not be considered a real one, and what's not real couldn't hurt anyone. So she just laid both her hands behind his neck, kissing him back as soon as his lips crashed on hers.

The kiss became even more intense by the second, and if it wouldn't be for the referee to literally yell them to stop. Randy gave her one last quick peck before letting her go, opening the ropes for her so she could have left the ring.

"What was that?" Stephanie McMahon asked once the two superstars returned backstage. "Last time i recall, that was not on the script!" She did not sound mad, just completely surprised. "But i guess it brought attention..."

"I was feeling inspired." Randy just shrugged her off, looking the tall blonde girl beside him, only to discover she was already looking at him. "More than probably gonna do it again." He added, looking straight into the girl's eyes.

Stephanie murmured something back, but neither Sylwia or Randy bothered to really listen, too busy starring at each other like they were the only people around. Once the McMahon woman left to go who knew where, Sylwia cleared her throat, waving her hair behind her back. "So..." she said, her eyes still locked in his. "You're gonna do it again."

"In a heartbeat." The man replied with a smirk on his face. "Does it bother you, my friend?"

The way he emphasized the word 'friend' was clearly provocative, and what they said to each other just last night had clearly already been broken. Friends didn't look at each other that way, nor did they know what their mouths tasted like. He was teasing her, obviously, and Sylwia never backed down from that, or from him. "No, my friend." She grabbed his hand and quickly led him to her locker room, pushing him inside.

"I love this side of you." Randy said. That was the first time he admitted loudly and in front of her such a thing, just like it was the first time he finally used the word 'love'.

"Shut up." She just rolled her eyes, this time pushing him on the couch and she sat on his lap, her hands behind his neck as she was the one who leaned in this time. "Randy, you have no idea how good of a friend i can be."

He just hummed, placing his hands on her waist, pulling her closer to him. "Friends show appreciation to each other." He mumbled, locking again his lips to hers in another passionate kiss.

Sylwia moved her hands to his muscular and bare chest, pushing herself away, breathless. "One last time?"

"One last time." Randy agreed, kissing her once again, switching her on the couch so he could place himself on top of her.

But they both knew it wasn't going to be a one last time.

Florida, December 2023

Working together had been less messy than what everyone thought it would be, especially if compared to ten years prior. They both matured a lot and, in their ways, learned how to control their temperament, luckily.

Although, some things never changed; just like Randy stepping into the gym only to find out that Sylwia was always the first one to enter and one of the last to leave. He knew her so well to know she was a woman of habit and of discipline. Sometimes she would also bring her son to the gym, when the kid had to exit school and her sister was busy. Randy thought it was cute, even when the Polish woman tried to teach her son already how to lift weights.

She had always been one of a kind.

And it never changed also how Randy always had eyes only for her. In the gym, in the arena, everywhere.

Since they met again, they did not label their relationship. Promising to be just friends again was out of mind, already tried and already did not work; yet promising to be lovers was as crazy as well.

Randy had a lot of work to do this time to show her how committed he was. Better late than never, huh?

"Move out of my way!" It was the Polish woman self to speak, grabbing Randy's shoulders to slightly push him away, as the man was blocking her way to the weight room by talking with Shaun. "Yeah!" She added in the end, imitating the shorter man, causing the two men to laugh.

But Randy did not move, instead, he grabbed her hand and pushed her to him, circling her shoulders and ruffling her already messy ponytail. "Are you going somewhere, pretty girl?"

"I'm going to kick your balls, if you don't remove your arm right now." She spitted, rolling her eyes as she scolded his arm off. "See? Not that hard!" She turned her back, heading towards the weight room.

Randy looked at her, and then at Shaun. "Excuse me, man. You know how it is." He said to the man, hinting at his situation.

Shaun nodded with a chuckle. "No worry man. You do your things, I'm rooting for you!"

"You're a real one!" The Apex Predator smiled at his colleague and then rushed to where Sylwia was. He found the woman busy doing a set of Romanian Deadlifts. "Hi." Randy smiled at her, leaning against the nearest machine, admiring the woman's view.

"You're saying hi to my ass." The blonde woman pointed him out, looking at his through the mirror reflection. "What do you want?"

"Well, your ass is a very pleasant view." The American sportsman smirked. "My daughters had a lovely time the other day." He said, mentioning their 'casual' meeting at the bar. "They would love to spend some time with you."

Sylwia let her weight bar fall, turning to face Randy, her hands on her hips and her eyebrows narrowed. "Are we playing the happy family now?" She spoke. "Is it your daughters who want it or is it you?"

"All the three of us." The man shrugged. "Is it such a bad thing?"

At his question, Sylwia did not reply. She was about to return to her training, when she felt the man behind her, placing a hand on her back and making her turn to face him again. "Are you done bothering me?"

"Monday evening, my house. You, me, and our kids." He smiled, looking straight into her blue eyes. "You and the girls could spend a lovely afternoon doing shopping and whatever you girls do to have fun, while me and Rafał will try to cook something just to order some food from your favourite Polish restaurant."

"Rafał is three." Sylwia pointed out, rolling her eyes. "And he still doesn't speak English, and you still don't speak Polish."

"I do remember something." Randy chuckled. "I take it as a yes."

"I never said that."

"You didn't say no either."

Sylwia took a deep breath. She would have loved to say yes, but at the same time she was tempted to say no. If listening also to her sister -and family-, she should have blocked Randy everywhere, but they all knew Sylwia would never, so they just told her to be careful; and she was being careful, especially because now she had a son. "Listen, Randy, I'll be clear. We've already been through it, and look the ending! You say you want me back, another thing I've already heard it when you didn't have the balls to leave your now ex wife. I have a son now, Randy, and I cannot or not want to introduce him a man who will leave just like he appeared."

"I get it." Randy nodded. "I get where you're coming from and you have every rights to feel this way. I wasn't the man you deserved back in the days, and I regret it so much that I hate myself for that. But now there's nothing stopping us, we're both mature and adult people. Yes, I was an asshole and incredibly stupid, and I cannot change that; although, I can change my present and my future." He said, grabbing both her hands, a smile on his face. "And if I want to change my present and future is because I want you and Rafał in it, okay? I will do everything to show you how committed I am, I will fight for us, because Sylwia, this is the fight I don't ever plan to loose. I lost you once, and that was the most painful thing I've ever experienced; I don't want to loose you again forever."

"Co kurwa..." The blonde woman from Poland groaned. She hated how much of a simp she still was. "I'm bringing my pierogi then."
