The calm breeze I remember it well... That was one of the last times I used my magic and it created chaos. That moment and what soon comes after on my next mission.. It envelops into one of the worst moments in my life.
The City: Right After The Explosion
Elegance stood in shock and sighed as he turned toward his son. Mel who realized his mistake and was in a state of panic was crying. The two unconscious men they had just captured had been sent through a portal a moment later. One one side stood Elegance who looked at the people across the other side. Two sorcerers who looked to be wearing cop like uniforms glared at him and looked past him at the chaos. "That kid is just like 'em its gotta be a family curse" one of the two cops said with spite. Elegance gave him a death stare and shut the portal before turning back to Mel. "Yo Mel..." he said with a smile as he put his hands in pockets. Mel teary eyed looked up at him and couldn't comprehend why he was smiling. "We got a long journey ahead, but we did complete the mission- wait" he stopped himself as he remembered. "Raincheck on what I just said" he said before running off. Mel who was on knees crying picked himself up and wiped his tears. As he turned his face up again Elegance was back holding the two bags from before. Mel unsurprised by his speed walked ahead and waited next to him. Elegance placed one of the bags down and grabbed his gate fabricator. As a portal was made the room where the council resides opened. Mel standing close to Elegance walked behind him as they entered. The council looked down at the two from above them where they sat. A good description of the council members was impossible they could only hear the members and see shadows of people. As Elegance placed the bags at the forefront of here they stood he put one hand on his pocket and the other on the head of his son. Mel who stood behind him and was frightened to hear the judgement that would be made seeked comfort from his father. One of the members spoke and his voice sounded harsh and dark. "Melioras Worldbreaker.. you live up to your name" the member spoke with frustration and also a hint of happiness. Mel looked down and Elegance patted his head. "The kids power is strong. His potential seems to be limitless and he can be even better than that of the greatest sorcerer" Elegance said aloud to them. One of them sighed as another grunted most members despised Elegance. The most powerful wizard of his era, who didn't want his own title stood before them. In unison they spoke to them with an echo that felt as if it could be heard through the earth itself. "THIS IS AN OFFICIAL WARNING! ONE MORE ACCIDENT AND WORLDBREAKER WILL BE SENT TO THE JUVENILE DETENTION CENTER." The two shuddered and Elegance held his son close covering both of his ears with his leg and hand. "May I please speak to the board on my piece on his behalf" he spoke in a polite and sophisticated manner. Mel listened close as he gently removed himself from his side. "No bystander was harmed, I personally went and saved anyone who could have possibly been affected" he said loudly. A council member then spoke and let his mind be spoken. "We are aware of that...this is a warning. You as the parent and guardian are responsible for his actions. Be cautious, next time we will be harsher.. especially if non-magic civilians were to get involved." Elegance scoffed and proceeded to grab Mel's hand before walking out back into the city. Mel annoyed that they were back in the city turned and saw the place which had originally been destroyed. The area was exactly as it was before any damage had been done. "What happened" he said to his father with relief being apparent in his voice. Elegance smiled and patted his head. "They must have sent an expert sorcerer with creator magic or illusion magic" he said gently. Mel then turned back to him obviously confused. "But why are we back in the city" he mumbled. Elegance's face turned to embarrassment as he remembered he forgot to tell him. "We came to celebrate! lets get something to grub on" he said loudly and ecstatic. Mel covered his face as other people glared walking by. "Ok dad.. can we just get a move on" he said with his face flushing red. Elegance smile turned wide as he grabbed his hand and began to bolt to their destination.
The Next Mission: A Few Weeks Later
It starts with Mel who laid holding a tablet on the gold and white colored couch in the mansion which him and his father lived in. Elegance jumps into the room through a portal right beside him. Mel jumps back and drops his tablet while looking at him in a panic. Elegance simply turns to him and wides his grin. "Our new mission has come and it's the one and only one we've been dreaming of" he said calmly. Mel's face changed to a concerned interest and small smirk. Elegance began to walk back and forth contemplating. Mel who sat there shocked began to grab his tablet lay down again. Elegance noticed and grabbed it away as he began to speak. "I know .. you think i'm lying.. it's the one though.. we were sent to capture the black stone" he said with excitement squeaking through his voice. Mel jumped and began to run around in excitement. "The stone that grants infinite ice cream!" he shouted happily. Elegance began to nod his head with a smug face. "YEAH!!" Mel yelled as he darted to his room. Elegance looked at him as he ran and his smile faded slowly. The black stone was dangerous in reality.. as it could be used as a battery for a sorcerer to achieve an almost infinite amount of magic energy. This mission only allowed someone of Elegance's stature to be completed by. He could afford any amount of ice cream but a lie was easier to tell a child. The truth was also he could never leave him alone, he was confident always but this even scared him. Elegance was the strongest wizard in his era and could take any mission sent by the council. However, this mission was to find a stone which many have tried to find and had no luck. Many take the quest to reach the black stone, many who died, and lastly those who still seek its power. If a normal wizard gained the power the stone could amplify the wizards power by 50. A normal wizard's power in comparison to Elegance is about 1 ant vs a rhinoceros beetle. Now take a stronger wizard who is experienced and half as strong as Elegance. They can quickly become equals.. though only few wizards come close to his destruction magic. One of the few if not only wizard who has the potential to beat his strength and be stronger is Melioras Worldbreaker. The few who can come to half his strength are far older than Elegance. As Mel returned with a suitcase and his most formal attire he came with a smug and childish smile. The father returned one and complimented him "You look great! ready for infinite ice cream?" he asked him. Mel nodded intensely and hugged him tight. "Dad you're the best" he said crying happily. While Elegance, was not the best role model or even father. He proved to be a great guardian and took care of his son while of course spoiling him. The two began to happily stroll around before settling down and sitting down. "So where is it?" Mel exclaimed tired. Elegance turned his head slowly and scratched the back of his head. "I don't know actually.. we kinda have to find it.. but-" he said before being cut off. Mel grabbed onto his shirt. "WHAT?!" he shouted at his father. Elegance's poker face clocked in as he gently pushed him on to the couch and stood up. 'BUT- there is good news, a witch who claims she has a map of the underworld claims she can help us find it" he said. Mel who really didn't pay attention was laying down staring at the ceiling. "some old lady can tell us" Elegance muttered as Mel's face brightened as he jolted upward. "Let's get a move on.." he said as he pulled his gate fabricator. A portal appeared and inside was a dark forest and a cabin that stared right at them. "Weird.. usually it just shows up right in front of the house" Elegance said before stepping in. Mel followed behind quickly while forgetting his suitcase. As the portal closed he remembered and turned to see the creepy forest behind him. He dashed back to his father and held his hand. Elegance looked around the forest and saw many rune markings laid right before the portal. "So were being watched" he said excitedly. Mel's spinned shuttered hearing those words and looked at his dad irritated. As they walked toward the cabin many noises kept rustling in the forest with no visible person in sight. Right then before they reached the cabin a large man like wolf creature jumped above them and landed in front of them. It growled and saliva drooled from its mouth. Its fur brown and its eyes white with no pupils. Elegance's face as he saw the creature turned into delight. Mel almost fainting was caught by his father who grabbed before he fell. "No way.. a real werewolf.. these things are creatures of myth!" he said to Mel who was visibly unconscious. As the creature began to slowly walk on its hind feet it stopped as the door of the cabin opened. Out came a lady who appeared to be the same age as Elegance. Her hair was a dark purple that was completely visible in the dark. She bore a black lipstick that suited her face. The dress she wore seemed outdated but by how long was impossible to say. She then clapped and the creature walked toward her side and sat like a pet dog would. Elegance chuckled as he held Mel on his back. "I'm sorry this term is a little rude..however, I have to ask.. I come looking for a witch" He said to her. She then spoke and scratched the creatures head. "I am the witch you seek. I also must speak on the term you used.. werewolf they are extinct and do indeed exist. This one here was once a man.. who well suffered a curse he bestowed upon himself" she said angrily toward it. Elegance looked at it and then at her with a feeling of awkwardness. "Cool that's good to know. How much for the map to the black stone.. and another question before I go" he said to her. She then sighed and glared at him before turning into the cabin. "Men do not change even in 400 years do they, Boogie?" she spoke to the creature as it titled its head and whined. Elegance quickly followed entering the cabin behind her. Inside was a light and large set of stairs leading downward. He sighed and continued walking down as he witnessed the entrance to a large undercroft. Shelves of books covered the room and a small table was in the middle of the room. He walked over and set Mel in a chair next to him. She held a glass of tea and began to sip slowly. Elegance seemed a bit annoyed but withheld his frustration. "My name is Vega Ravencroft.. You can address me as Vega" she said to him with ferocity. He held his tongue and bowed his head. "Nice to meet you Vega.. No offense to you as well but i'm not here to chat" he said confidently. She shook her head and scoffed at him. "Many men and women have attained this exact map and failed. What makes you any different child?" she said with an elegance and concerned voice. Elegance took aback by her statement both by the insult of being called a child and not being known looked at her strangely. "I'm not the same as the men or women who came before you.. " he said intensely. She took a sip of her tea and coughed a bit while giggling. "That same line and delivery has also been said, once too many" she spouted at him. Elegance shook his head and as she placed her tea down grabbed her hands and looked directly at her eyes. "Your a witch correct..how many of those men and women did you let go without checking their strength.. and I don't mean character" he said to her face. Her face flushed a bit but then looked at him harshly. "If they deemed themselves able.. who am I to tell them they are not" she said almost tired. Elegance continued to look at her intensely. "Please look into my eyes and feel my magic.. tell me what you see.. you are a witch after all" he pleaded. Vega held his hands and her eyes glowed a light blue as she did for a moment she then returned to normal. "You are quite formidable.. more so even then to need that stone" she said looking away from him. He smiled as he let go of her hands and sat back. "I work on the safety of humanity.. wizards and non-magic civilians alike" he said to her. She turned and looked at him with a look that could scream help. "You wish to obtain it to confine it?" she said mincing around her words. He looked at her confused and turned to look away at Mel. "No, the truth is.. if someone were to obtain it and become a threat.. it would mean that I couldn't protect Mel" he said looking at his sleeping son. She looked over at the boy and finally noticed his presence.
"You just wish to protect, then?" she asked kindly. Elegance nodded to her and turned his vision to her. "I wish to protect my son, and the world if I can"
