GOLDEN GLOVES AFTER PARTY
January 20, 2024
10:47pm
Beverly Hills, ca

Under the glimmering lights of The Beverly Hilton, the air buzzed with the excitement of Hollywood's elite. The entrance adorned with cascading golden curtains welcomed silver and gold screen stars alike to Billboard's lavish after-party. Cillian Murphy, the enigmatic Oppenheimer leading man, made a rare appearance. His wife, though happy for his accomplishments, was tired and wanted to go back home to lay in the comfort of her bed—which was more than reasonable.

Inside, the atmosphere pulsed with jubilation as Golden Globes victors Jeremy Allen White and Ayo Edebiri clinked glasses, celebrating their well-deserved accolades. The glistening stringed canopy lights cast a magical glow over the scene, accentuating the euphoria that permeated the room.

In a corner, Lily Gladstone, the first Indigenous woman to win the award for best actress in a drama, embraced fellow victor Billie Eilish. Their mutual admiration radiated through the room, a poignant moment amidst the glittering celebration.

The dance floor witnessed the rhythmic moves of Ryan Gosling and Pedro Pascal, seamlessly transitioning from early 2000s classics to the beats of modern-day hits. Their charismatic dance moves captivated onlookers, creating an infectious energy that spread throughout the space.

Outside, the fire pit became a gathering spot for A-listers. Chris evans and his wife sat on a couch opposite of Robert Downey jr and Elizabeth Olsen. Kylie Jenner, Timothée Chalamet, Barry Keoghsn, and Nellie Murphy engaged in lively conversation, the  laughter of drunk adults echoing in the crisp night air.

Nellie, her words slightly slurred, couldn't help but chime in with her own unique observation.

"You look like if a man and a woman had a baby."

Barry chuckled at Nellie's tipsy commentary, a bemused expression on his face. The group erupted in laughter at her hiccup-filled observation.

"What?" Barry queried, amusement dancing in his eyes.

Nellie, undeterred by her slightly slurred words, continued with a mischievous grin, "You look like if a man and a woman had a baby... or maybe if two women had a baby."

She paused, contemplating her own statement before confidently settling on the latter. "Yeah," she affirmed, leaning back into her chair.

Kylie, joining in the laughter, nodded in agreement. "No, I get what she's saying," she chimed in, adding her own perspective to the amusing conversation.

Nellie, as if struck by a sudden revelation, looked at Barry again. "Actually, you look like you can be a part of my family. You look like my dad. Weird," she declared with a giggle, leaving the group in stitches.

Barry with an expression that was a mix of amusement and bewilderment."Must be the Irish genes then, We all look alike some way."

"You guys don't look like Ed Sheeran though," Kylie commented.

Barry and Nellie gave each other a look, before bruising out into laughter as Timothée covered his hands with his face.

Dua, rejoining the group, drew Nellie's curious attention. "Where have you been?" Nellie inquired, making room for her friend in the open chair beside her.

Dua, with wide eyes, flopped down and exclaimed, "Did you guys know they have a tarot card reader here? She just read the fuck out of me."

"Really?" Nellie questioned, intrigued by the unexpected revelation.

"Yeah, thought it was a really random but cool idea, I guess," Dua remarked, hinting at the peculiar presence of a tarot card reader at the party.

"Nah man, that's sick. Is she legit?" Timothée asked, his interest piqued.

"Oh yeah, she's this Persian lady. She knows what she's talking about," Dua affirmed.

"Oh my god, I've always wanted to get read," Nellie declared, taking a sip of her (more than halfway done) margarita before standing up. "Where is she?"

Amidst the ambient glow of patio lights, a woman of enchanting beauty sat perched on a table, her long brown hair cascading like a silky waterfall. Dark eyes, pools of mystery, absorbed the starry night sky as she shuffled a deck of tarot cards with effortless grace. Her presence exuded an otherworldly aura, and despite appearing only a few years older than Nellie—perhaps around 32—there was an ageless quality to her.

Nellie, captivated by the scene, felt an undeniable connection as the woman looked up, her eyes locking onto Nellie's. A knowing smile played on her lips. "I knew you were gonna come," she whispered, her voice carrying a sense of ancient wisdom.

"Whattt" Nellie replied, her words semi-dragged out in a mix of surprise and curiosity.

"Come, sit. There are some things you need to hear," the enchanting woman beckoned, inviting Nellie to join her in the mystical dance of fate and revelation.

The tarot cards laid out before Nellie, a visual tapestry of her life's journey. The first card, drawn with deliberate precision, reflected the recent turbulence in her personal life. It depicted a lone figure standing in the rain, symbolizing the emotional downpour she had been navigating. The Seven of Cups revealed the complexity of choices, a decision that weighed heavy on her heart.

Simone, the mystic guide, spoke gently, "You've been grieving, my dear. A lost connection, a relationship that required a sacrifice. The decision was monumental, and the pain is palpable, but trust that the storm will clear, and the sun will shine again."

The second card, the Three of Swords, portrayed a heart pierced by three blades. A raw depiction of the heartache Nellie had endured. Yet, as Simone turned the cards, a subtle shift occurred.

"In this journey of letting go, you've made space for something new," Simone continued. The cards transformed, revealing the Ace of Cups, a symbol of emotional rebirth. "There's a profound wellspring of love awaiting you, a divine counterpart and soul connection that will transcend the pain of the past."

The next card, The Lovers, portrayed two figures entwined beneath an angelic presence. Simone's gaze held an intensity as she spoke, "This is not just any love, but a connection that goes beyond the surface. It's about spiritual union, a meeting of souls." She paused, allowing the gravity of the moment to settle.

"As we delve deeper," Simone continued, drawing the King of Cups, "your potential love interest is someone shy and reserved, tall and handsome. This person is not one to wear their heart on their sleeve, but their depth of emotion runs like an undercurrent beneath a calm exterior."

Nellie's eyes widened with intrigue as the cards unfolded the narrative of her future. "This individual," Simone emphasized, "is a divine counterpart, a mirror to your soul."

Simone leans back, a knowing smile playing on her lips. "Ah, the silent language of the eyes," Simone muses, her voice carrying a hint of mischief.

"Something tells me that you will often find yourself admiring his eyes. The excitement you feel when locked in his gaze, those unspoken sensations that dance between you two, they are the whispers of a connection that transcends the ordinary. When you look into their eyes, it just excites you in so many different ways, and definitely in ways that I dare not say out loud," she remarked, punctuating her words with a playful wink.

Simone rolled three dice, her eyes narrowing in concentration. Each subtle clatter echoed the unseen energies at play. Studying the patterns, Simone intently noted, "Water energy prevails here, suggesting a profound connection to a Cancer or someone with significant water sign placements in their astrological chart. Emotions will flow deep and wide in this connection."

A handful of charms lay before her – a surfboard, a camera, and a book. Simone traced her fingers over them, interpreting their significance. "These symbols speak volumes. The surfboard, a symbol of journeys and emotional waves. Represents a sense of adventure and fluidity. The camera captures moments, and the book implies a depth of knowledge. This person holds a multifaceted significance in your life."

With an air of mystery, Simone tossed scrabble-like letters onto the table. Nellie's eyes focused as she rearranged them, and a name emerged.

J A C K

"This could be a middle name or a nickname. Pay attention to this," Simone advised, her gaze unwavering.

Shuffling the cards once more, Simone invoked the presence of Nellie's spirit guides. Four cards fell out, each holding a key to the future. The first card, the Four of Wands, spoke of comfort that might feel uncomfortably intense. "You'll find ease with this person, so much so that it may initially seem overwhelming. Be open, my dear, and embrace the unfamiliar warmth that awaits you. Falling for them will come naturally, and that, in itself, will be a beautiful yet intimidating journey."

The second card, the Three of Cups, hinted at tests the relationship might face. Simone's expression turned serious. "Challenges will arise from both sides, and there might be external influences that try to wedge between you two. Communication and patience will be your allies. Navigate through the storm with understanding and resilience."

Drawing the third card, the Two of Cups, Simone illuminated a specific time frame. "February is significant," she emphasized, "a key moment in the unfolding of this love story. An exchange of emotions, a meeting of hearts, will mark a pivotal chapter in your journey together."

The final card, The Moon, bathed the reading in its soft glow. "The number 26 holds significance," Simone revealed, her words carrying the weight of cosmic revelation. "It could be an age, a birthday, or an anniversary – a celestial alignment woven into the fabric of your connection."

As Simone delved deeper into the reading, she offered insights into the personality of the mysterious Jack. Drawing from the energies of the cards and the intuitive connection she felt, she painted a vivid picture of his character.

"Jack," she began, her voice carrying a sense of reverence, "is someone who embodies the essence of water signs – intuitive, empathetic, and deeply connected to his emotions. He exudes a quiet strength, much like a serene ocean, yet beneath the surface lies a depth of feeling and passion."

Simone described Jack as a man of few words, preferring to express himself through actions rather than grand declarations. "He's shy and reserved, but there's a magnetic presence about him that draws others in," she explained, her words tinged with admiration.

Despite his reserved nature, Jack possesses a gentle warmth that puts others at ease. "He has a calming presence," Simone continued, "and a genuine kindness that shines through in everything he does."

She emphasized Jack's creative spirit, symbolized by the camera charm. "He sees the world through a unique lens, finding beauty in the ordinary and capturing moments that others might overlook."

Simone also hinted at Jack's intellectual curiosity, represented by the book charm. "He's a seeker of knowledge, always eager to learn and grow. There's a depth to him that goes beyond surface appearances.

"I'm getting that he also has a poetic quality to his soul, and he might express himself through art or writing," Simone added, a thoughtful smile playing on her lips.

Simone's piercing gaze held Blanca in a moment of contemplation. "Are you ready for the love you say you deserve?" she questioned, prompting Blanca to squint her eyes, head cocked to the side in deep thought.

After a pregnant pause, Simone's voice commanded, "Do it." The sudden directive startled Blanca, making her sit up straight.

Simone's attention shifted to Nellie's phone, and with a nod, she encouraged Nellie to proceed. Caught off guard, Nellie glanced at her phone, feeling a tinge of unease as Simone's intense eyes remained fixed on her.

Simone, sensing Nellie's hesitation, tilted her head toward the phone. "You can only benefit from it, trust me," she reassured with a confident smile.

Taking a deep breath, Nellie unlocked her phone, Simone's raised eyebrow adding a layer of intrigue. Nellie, still somewhat unnerved by the mysterious connection, pressed the post button.
